Bhumi Pednekar
Dum Laga Ke Haisha' (2015) has certainly struck a chord with the audience. Critics and audiences alike have been raving about the quirky subject, and amazing performances from Ayushmann Khurrana and debutante Bhumi Pednekar. Pednekar has surprised many with her natural talent, including Aditya Chopra, and has reportedly been signed onto a three film deal with Yash Raj Films (YRF).
Pednekar has been compared to Parineeti Chopra, another YRF protg. For the unitiated, Pednekar has been working in YRF's casting department, filling in for many who were auditioning for her debut role. According to MagnaMags, Pednekar has impressed Chopra so much that he has taken it upon himself to mentor the actress, and there are also many filmmakers who want to cast her and Arjun Kapoor together. "Buzz is that the filmmakers are in talks to cast Bhumi and Arjun Kapoor in their next project. While discussions are in full swing, people close to the project are supposedly very happy with this latest development."
Dum Laga Ke Haisha' told the story of a middle class man, who owns a cassette shop played by Khurrana, unwillingly marrying an overweight woman, played by Pednekar. The story was set in the 1990s.
