With Deepali and Puja eliminated from Indian Idol 3, Ankita Mishra is the only female contestant left in the show. The chances of a male contestant winning the contest for a third consecutive time are thus very high. Abhijeet Sawant and Sandeep Acharya won Indian Idol 1 and 2 respectively.
But Udit Narayan, one of the judges of the show, is hoping that the audience votes for a female for a change. "I appeal to the junta for vote her as she is the only female contestant left. I am dearly hoping that she makes it to the final round. Both Puja and Deepali were good singers but unfortunately they got eliminated."
Why doesn't the audience vote for females? "People vote according to performance and singing. It's not that they vote for males or females. So there are chances that Ankita will be there in final."
About Ankita Udit adds, "Her sur is a bit shaky while performing but she is good singer and is in the competition because she has something in her. Also she has taken the competition very seriously."
Interestingly, it has been observed that the ones who perform best in an episode get eliminated next week.
