Chapter 11
Kalpi paces to and fro and the bottom of the temple steps... Anxiously waiting for Ayaan. Kamla maa comes up to her and says, "Kalpi stop frowning. You look so lovely." Ignoring her, Kalpi says in frustration, "Aai do I really need to be here for the puja." Trying some emotional blackmail, she adds, "aai you are making me lie in front of God. Please aai, make excuses for me... I don't want to be here... My heart is not here." Shaking her head, Kamla retorts, "what nonsense! You are the bride!" And walks away, leaving Kalpi on her own.
Kalpi starts pacing again, impatient, sighin g in frustration, mumbles, "where the hell is he?" Ayaan sees Kalpi and rushes to her, calling out, "hello beautiful." Kalpi turns, glares at him and says, "you are late. I asked you to be here an hour ago." Deep down Kalpi was panicking, it was nearly time for the puja. Forcing herself to cal down she says, "come, we need to talk." Folding his arms around his chest, Ayaan tries to control his grin and says, "I don't want to talk."
Kalpi stares at him in disbelief, thinking, "what the hell." And says, "fine we can talk here." Ayaan says, "nope. I don't want to talk." And walks away to the courtyard. Kalpi rushes after him and says, "please there is something you need to know." Ayaan studies her, takes a deep breathe and says, "I know everything. There is nothing for you to say." And turns to admire the view. Kalpi replies, "that's what you think. I..." Ayaan interrupts her, "Kalpi. Fine. Whatever you want to say. Say after the wedding."
Kalpi looks at him... Totally stumped... Her eyes start to water as she thinks, "omg. We are going to get married in a weeks time." Ayaan seeing her tears, stops teasing her and says softly, "okay tell me, but trust me when I say I know." Shaking her head, she says, "you don't know thins. Ragav and I love each other." Ayaan gives her a wide grin, flashing all his 32 teeth and says, "I know."
Confounded, Kalpi parrots, "you know." Then adds, "I don't understand. Then why are you marrying me." Ayaan grins and says with a wink, "who told you I am marrying you." It takes several seconds for Kalpi to realise what Ayaan is saying, her eyes filled with joy, she whispers, "I am going to marry ragav." Unable to resist teasing her, Ayaan says, "you are. Hmmm... And how are you going to make it happen." Laughing, Kalpi says, "not I, but you are going to make it happen." Her joy knowing no bounds, she hugs him tight, whispering, "thank you." Smiling, Ayaan hugs her and whispers back, "you are welcome bhabhi."
Ragav stares at the girl he loves, his heart breaking, seeing her in another man's arms... Happy. He looks at his mum and says, "I need a moment. You go ahead." Seeing her son in pain, Neetu hesistates for a moment, then says, "take your time sweety." In a small voice, Ragav says, "mum stay with me." Neetu nods, with a sad smiles she gestures for Pakhi and Sammy to go ahead. Alone, Ragav hugs his mother tight as he silently cries... Whispering, "I don't think I can do this, mum. I can't see her with another. As much as I want her to be happy... I can't see her with another."
Kalpi sees neetu and Ragav by the car park and says excitedly, "Ayaan, Ragav is here. I am going to tell him the news." Ayaan grabs her hand... Stopping her. Kalpi frowns... Staring at him. His expression somber, Ayaan shakes his head and says, "you can't tell him." Releasing her hand from his grip, Kalpi asks, "why can I not tell him?" She glares at him and says with determination, "I will tell him." Ayaan looks towards Ragav and says, "fine go tell him." Then glares at kalpi, saying, "you decide, tell him and marry me or don't tell him and marry him." And walks away, deep down in his heart apologising to her... But he had no choice... She could very well spoil the game.
