Whenever The Lips Met...

Part-21:

He started.

"How much do you have on you now?"

"Haan?"

She could not understand his words.

"Paisa."

He hinted her then.

She was silent for a full minute.

Then, she slowly turned to him once made her mind.

"I -I need money to get a taxi to the bus stand and to- can you borrow me some money, please? You'll-"

"Get it from the commissioner?" he asked sarcastically.

"No, no! I'll-" she said fast.

"Why should I've to give it to you?"

"I'll surely-"

"Why should I believe you?"

"Why, I'm the commissioner's daughter!"

"I see."

He went silent then.

She felt as though she was caught off-guard.

They reached the main road.

"Are you sure you want to get a taxi?"

She nodded as she did not trust her words anymore.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you that your grands are now in the commissioner's house!"

She sighed in relief that she did not have to borrow from this man, after all.

"I heard that you wouldn't talk to your father."

He asked in a matter-of-fact tone.

This made her snap, for sure.

She was not ready to discuss her family issues with him.

"That's none of your concern!"

"Oh, I thought better than that!" he pouted slightly.

As she was silent, he started again.

"Won't you ask who told me?"

She fell for that then.

"Who?"

She did not even think she could be a talking-stuff for the staff working under her father.

She wanted to stop it, if she could.

She had to warn her father at least. But his reply once again toppled her base tremendously.

"You!"

"What the-"

She did not expect this, the least.

"Didn't you tell the kidnapper that you wouldn't talk to your father?"

She got it then.

She nodded, "I did!"

She thought of the incident now. That bloody laughed and said he could make her talk...

"Oh, then he didn't lie to your father. I was there when he begged him not to hurt you."

She did not respond as he expected.

"And they were saying, you went to your grand's place, since your father remarried."

"That's right," She was saying it from her trance.

"I see, then your step mother had to be cruel toward you."

No, she supported me even when her own child was discharged from the hospital after stitching his forehead.'

"It's called fate!"

"Which one?"

She blinked.

"That if you are angry with your father, for getting married again and then you should be angry on the person who suggested it in the first place too, right?"

"What are you talking about?"

"Your grandfather!"

He stopped the car in front of the house.

She felt that the car had stopped at last and had to get down.

She opened the door as he called,

"Miss, my mobile!"

Part-22:

The commissioner came out of the house and saw his daughter getting out of the car.

"Madhu!"

He called emotionally.

She turned toward him and seemed confused.

One look at his daughter, he controlled himself and asked quietly.

"Are you ok?"

She nodded as she crossed him and entered in.

He clutched Arjun's hands thankfully.

She went to the hall where she met her grands.

"Beta, are you ok, nothing happened to you, right?"

She reassured them as she saw a figure approaching her.

Her step mother!

She silently handed her a cup of coffee.

"Thank you!"

She took it at once.

When she put the cup down she heard a voice behind, "Dhi!"

Her brother!

As though he was waiting for her to finish the coffee he called.

She turned to him and saw the scar on his forehead. It affected her strangely.

She swallowed hesitantly as the boy asked her, "Does it hurt?"

He motioned toward the bruise on her forehead.

That obviated her hesitation in a split second and she smiled as she replied, "Not anymore!"

The boy smiled at her cheerfully.

"Dhi, come to my room. I'll show you the trophies!" he said proudly.

Her gaze went toward her mother unknowingly as though to ask her permission.

The mother nodded, but said, "After breakfast."

The grandmother, who was silent this long spoke, "I'll prepare the bathroom for you."

The men entered in.

She turned to Arjun, "Thank you Bhaiya!"

It meant a lot, he knew.

He smiled and nodded as the commissioner said, "Thank you Arjun!"

"See you soon, sir!"

He turned and left the room.

We convened in the conference room that evening. (Wait for a flash back, it's coming soon.)

"Sir, it was splendid!"

"Fantastic move!"

"How did you find that he didn't know he was threatening with the wrong hostage?"

"Wait, wait! Wait guys, I did nothing! It was a shot in the dark that clicked, that's all!" he admitted, "But we needed the space to act!" He said quietly.

We nodded. "That's true!"

"I thought he could not have gotten the chance to see her face when I saw he was in his night gown still. And even after hearing a solid half an hour of firing, he didn't show up until we stopped firing. He had to be thinking over the possibilities of escape then. And he had to worry about his father too. Once he got a chance he came out and took a hostage which was his only choice then."

"Nabbing the customs officer, who signed the certificate, is the hit."

"Then what'd you call it, to get his father Rithish had arranged a special escape through the warden?"

This time we saw to it that none of the Palpan's friends escaped. Every single property of the son was seized.

"Uhh... Anyway, everything is settled and over with a reunion."

"That's right. The problem started with the arrest of the father, with the arrest of the son, came to an end!"

"Smoothly!"

Epilogue:

Flash back:

Arjun's mobile rang, once he entered into the conference room, that evening.

He saw the display and answered it as a smile came to his lips, cutely.

We were silently watching this from our places.

He took the seat and said, "Yes!"

"Oh, God! At last I got you!"

She astonished.

"Right, a bit busy lately!" he smiled, "Why you tried to reach me, anyway?"

"Tried??.. God I was scorching the earth to find you!"

"I see, what's the matter?"

He asked simply.

"Can you now tell me what's going on?"

"Can you tell me anything more then?"

He did not falter still, she got.

"I thought, I helped you, at the least!"

"I thought you would have gone to the media by this, at least!"

She sighed and said, "I didn't for the same reason why you didn't!"

"Right, tell me now, how is she? What about the kidnapper?"

"I won't fall for that!"

He said as a face saving.

"No, you've already fallen and spilt the beans long ago. I can understand from our talk today that the girl's been saved and is now fine. If I couldn't guess this, then there is no point in working as a-"

"Yes?"

"No! I was telling I'm good at my work."

She checked herself in time.

"But I didn't admit to!"

He prevaricated.

"No need to!"

They both laughed.

He said suddenly, "And I can understand from your talk so far that you must be a media person, for you are doing more and more guessing every time."

She didn't laugh, this time.

Flash back ends!

_..

She called him after three days.

"I've decided to meet you tomorrow."

"Where?"

"Not in my place, for sure!" she laughed and cut the call at once.

Ayesha entered his room and said, "Sir, she is here!"

She showed the door way.

'Oh, I've nearly forgotten about the newly appointed-

He turned to see the masked woman entering his room.

"Oh!" Ayesha and he echoed together.

He looked confused and stood up.

He moved toward her as she stepped forward.

Without a word or sign, she removed the mask and extended her hand as she said with a sweet smile, "Hi, I'm Sakshi!"
