Voting - Round 1

We are delighted with the response we have got for the first round! Can you believe we received a total of 20 beautiful entries to listen before scoring and giving them marks! Congratulations to all those who participated and were able to send in their entries - we truly appreciate your efforts!

Before we start scoring/judging, here are few rules and guidelines which members are requested to keep in mind when scoring.

A few rules and guidelines we hope members will follow before they start to vote:

Voting should be done on the basis of singing. If you identify the participants by their voice, please remain neutral and judge the entry as if you didn't know who it was. Please be fair while voting. Listen to the overall performance and vote.

Vote for 2 entries only. Please provide a short/detailed critique for the entries you have voted for. You are welcome to do this for other/all entries as well. This will be very much appreciated as it provides constructive criticism for all the contestants.

Entries will be judged by the audience (i.e. I-F members) and an anonymous panel of judges. The weighting will be 50-50.

Please do not vote for your own entry - it will lead to disqualification.

Do not vote based on the popularity of the song. Vote for the one you think deserves to win based on talent, selection of the song, vocal range and quality etc.

It takes a lot of courage for the contestants to participate so please do give feedback to all or many as possible outlining the positives and areas where they can improve.

Please refrain from promoting your entry or a specific entry via PM or other mediums - it will lead to DISQUALIFICATION.

Keep this thread free of chitchat, spam and other irrelevant off topics so its easy for us to keep track of the voting.

If you have questions on Round 2 (which is posted below), please drop us a PM. All questions answered via PM will be posted under the FAQs below so everyone remains on the same page.

Write the entry numbers you will be voting for along with a review/feedback (things to add in your review: the contestant's voice, taal, lay, modulations and expressions). Without a proper reason, voting may not count so please give feedback.

Reminder - you are to vote for 2 entries!

Round 2

Most of you might be wondering about the challenges in Round 2. It is not so complicated, please read out .
-

Members are requested to sing a song comprising of a mix of 2-3 songs (minimum 2 songs and maximum 3 songs) and send it as ONE entry. You can choose any song from any genre.

Must be in Hindi or English.

Time limit: 2-3 minutes. Entries under 2 minutes or over 3 minutes will not be accepted and will not qualify for the voting round.

Please do not advertise your entry in anyway. Kindly do not create Multiple IDs to participate. Your entry will be disqualified under both scenarios.

No karaoke or background music please. We want to hear your voice only! 😳 Entries that have background music will not be accepted and will not qualify for the voting round.

Members who qualify into the second round will be contacted via PM with the link to these rules. Please follow the guidelines and send in your entry as will be mentioned in the PM.

Submission Details

Once you have recorded your piece, please upload it onto any site that will allow us todownload your entry (For instance, SoundCloud). No video please, just the mp3/audio file! Kindly PM the link to your entry to this ID ContestEntries.

Please double check and ensure that it is downloadable.

Where do I send in my entry?
Send all entries to ContestEntries

When do I send my entry by?
Send all entries by February 27th, 2015. Deadline maybe extended based on demand.

Is the actual version of the song and the unplugged version considered as two different songs?
No. They are the same song.

What do you mean by mix of 2-3 songs? It is a mash up or singing 2-3 songs one after another?
This is entirely up to you on how you want to go about it. Be as creative as you can!

Entry 1: Lovely voice. Can do better. Keep practicing.
Entry 2: You have a beautiful voice, I must say. But you sang too fast.
Entry 3: Nice voice. Would have been better if you raised your voice a bit.
Entry 4: It was shrill. Nevertheless, nice try.
Entry 5: You have a wonderful voice!!
Entry 6: I liked your jolly type voice. Keep practicing. You can do much better.
Entry 7: It was a bit slow and not in rhythm for me. But what matters is that atleast you guys tried.
Entry 8: I loved the way how you put your whole self in it. Amazing!
Entry 9: Can sense your emotions with this. Beauty!
Entry 10: Some pronunciation malfunctions were there but seriously, you have a wonderful voice.
Entry 11: You were trying to imitate Alia, I think. Nice try.
Entry 12: If you lessen those pauses, you can sing amazingly, seriously.
Entry 13: Your voice touched my heart. But there were some glitches and I'm sure, you'll work on them.
Entry 14: Another jolly voice. Keep going, girl.
Entry 15: Your song selection was fantastic + your voice is icing on the cake.
Entry 16: I have this intuition- you will be giving other voices a tough competition.
Entry 17: The above statement applies in your case too. Now please don't say that you're not under training.
Entry 18: Beautiful voice. Keep it up!
Entry 19: You can sing exceptionally. Just a lil more practice is required.
Entry 20: I had tears in my eyes after hearing your voice. Such a masterpiece!

P.S: Sorry guys for being this judgemental. Also, I won't be voting this time around as I'm unable to choose top 2. You all did your best and I wish you all the very best! 🤗

Finally heard all 20 songs...lovely entries u all hv send...am happy to participate in evry season of this IF Idol n this is 3rd one...!! Good Luck to all

#10 - THE BEST ONE in this entire lot...its a difficult song...n u sang it with such ease ki i hv to say-u hv done an amazing job..i did felt there ws a sur prob at one place..but i can CERTAINLY ignore tht coz 99% of song u sung EXCEPTIONALLY well..!! so my first vote goes to u..😃😃

Now comin to 2nd vote...i ws confused b/w 2,5,9,16,17.. all these were very beautiful...n i had tough time in choosin one...n aftr goin thru these set of entries for 2nd round...i hv decided my 2nd vote goes to entry #5

Amazing entries guys! Wow all you guys are so talented and hats off for participating,it takes a lot of guts👏 It was really tough voting for just 2 entries but here goes.

#8- Love your voice and the modulation you have given while singing. Short rendition but well sung,keep it up!

#16- Very sweet and melodious voice. You got the feel of the song right and I enjoyed listening to it,if you hone your skills just a little bit,like fine tune a bit,you'll be really good. Keep it up!
