Ye Hai Mohabbatein : Is Toshi Simply Adding Up To
Ishita's Already Existing Insecurity Regarding
Ruhi?
Certainly the precap of just a few seconds (of the
episode of 30th January 2015) would displease
many of the viewers of Ye Hai Mohabbatein. Toshi
Bhalla (Raman's mother) is seen requesting Ishita
not to participate with Ruhi in her sports day
competition. She instead asks her to let Shagun
participate in the race to make Adi feel homely.
The old lady once claimed that Ishita should trust
her white hairs' as her experience knows what's
better for her. However, she is simply representing
the old blind love of a delusional woman who
probably exists in many household around us in our
society. She surely cares for what would please Adi
but in the process she clearly forgets about what
would make Ruhi happy. If Shagun runs with Ruhi
that would make Adi glad but would Ruhi celebrate
Ishita's absence in the race?
There's a saying that you value those more whom
you have lost once. Probably, the Bhalla family
value Adi more as they have lost him once and
hence, they are trying to get him in ways that are
unethical and impossible. Probably, it's time for
them to experience losing Ruhi once to understand
her value as well?
Ishita has been always underestimated by the
family members and especially Toshi Bhalla. She
comes to her with immoral and unfair demands and
expects her to abide by. The lady knows that she is
wrong but as she told once to her husband that she
isn't as great as him, if there comes a time when
she needs to choose between her daughter and
daughter in law, she will choose her daughter. Time
and again the CVs have shown her to be a mother
who gets blinded by the love of her children and
she supports them even after knowing their
misdeeds. She did that in case of her daughter
Simmi and she also repeated it during Romi and
Adi's accident case. It is no wonder that Toshiji
loses all her morality when it comes to the children
of her house. But nevertheless you can't really
blame the CVs as Toshi Bhalla is a mirror image of
millions of ladies who think and do things exactly
like her.
Coming to some of the main points shown in the
show. Ishita's character has slowly evolved as a
mother and wife. Until now, she was a silent
spectator of Shagun's every mischief. She
understood Shagun's plots yet chose to ignore. But
as has been shown a million times in the show, a
wife within Ishita doesn't get enraged or insecure
as much as the mother within Ishita does. She feels
absolutely secure about Raman. She has no fears of
losing Raman to Shagun but when it comes to Ruhi,
even the jagatmata' Ishita can be selfish and she
surely feels insecure and has fears of losing Ruhi
to Shagun. This is something that Ishita has
confessed to Raman as well. Even Raman is
aware .that his wife loves his daughter more than
him. Under these circumstances, isn't Toshi Bhalla
simply adding up to Ishita's insecurity? The
current incidents and requests made to Ishita is
simply pushing her to the edge where she may no
longer care for anyone except Ruhi. The lady with
white hairs' is unable to understand the storm she
is inviting in her own house. Ishita can probably do
anything, leave anything and forget anything
except little Ruhi in her life. And as for Ruhi, the
viewers have already seen the revolting nature of
the kid for her Ishima.
Even in the novel Custody' Ishita tries hard to
gain Adi's confidence (named as Arjun in the book).
But when she realises that Ruhi is getting
affected due to Adi's presence and his constant
brainwashing therapies, she decides to take Ruhi
away during the vacations when Adi visited his
father. We can only wish YHM's Ishita doing the
same so that the Bhalla house values Ruhi the same
way due to the fear of losing her.
If any of the readers have read the novel
Custody',they would know about a very interesting
sentence uttered by Ishita in the story. In the
book, during the final custody case for Ruhi, Ishita
tells Raman, "She is everything to me - I loved her
before I loved you". She was insecure and was
living her own fears of losing Ruhi to Shagun at
the time and somehow the show also is currently
showing that insecure mother within Ishita. Toshi
Bhalla with her one sided blind love for her
grandson is simply adding up to the already
existing insecurity within Ishita.
Hopefully, Ye Hai Mohabbatein's Ishita will also
speak up soon for Ruhi as Custody's Ishita did. It's
just a matter of time now. As for Toshi Bhalla, well
she probably just needs a good and nice lesson from
her son and grand-daughter and oh, let's not
forget the blow she will get when she will come to
know about Romi's medical reports. This show surely
has a lot of drama awaiting for the viewers in the
upcoming episodes. So it's better to wait and watch
as to show the positive or the white side of the
story, they need to highlight the negative or the
black side or else whiteness or positivity would lose
its importance.
