Sahir Azeem Chaudhry..who lost belief in the purity of love,,,the goodness of humanity...when he was forced to bow down before the power of money and materialistic pursuits..by the one he cared for most in the world!
The realization left him reeling from shock and for seven long years his life and identity was all about reaching that pinnacle of wealth and success which would allow him to show her what he was capable of and how much she had misjudged him when she thought so less of him...how wrong she had been!
Any feelings he had for zeenat were killed by what she did and certainly after seven years he felt nothing except hatred for her...although the extent of her wrongdoing is not yet known we know enough to know this for sure!
Sahirs own self doubt and inability to love and trust again were what kept him away from expressing his true feelings when he was drawn to Arzoo...and the fact that he was still chained to his past..not by any love for the woman who was only legally his wife,,,,but by the promise that he had vowed to fulfill and that he was unable to let go of!
Now Sahir and Arzoo are married and for him she is the only one he considers his wife...in his heart...in his emotions...in every which way that matters!
And that is why he tried to reassure her when the first mention of Zeenat sent her into a tizzy...wondering what her place was now...despite the fact that she denied it saying theirs was a business deal he emphatically shut her up and almost completed the statement .."Meri biwi tum ho".., the way he pulled her close left no doubt on this score!
When Kurti Aapa told Arzoo to leave the room Sahir stood up to her and told her in no uncertain terms that the room was hers and she has a right to live there! He also told Arzoo clearly and precisely that "Yeh hamara kamra hai" ! Leaving her confused as to why his saying that felt so good!
Although married SaAz are not really living as a couple...Sahir has respected the distance Arzoo wished to maintain and helped her maintain the facade that this is a deal in her mind...while leaving no opportunity to show her that for him it's all too real and that he has absolutely no feelings for Zeenat!
There is no reason for Sahir to care for Zeenats feelings now...assuming she has any...because she herself lost the right to that care by what she did years ago! Her being in coma doesn't change the fact that she is responsible for the death of her relationship! By what we know so far she was the one who caused the love in Sahirs heart to turn to hatred! And even now she seems to have recovered from coma but is still pretending for her own ulterior motives...hardly the act of one who wants to make amends or repair a wrong done in the past!
Sahir standing by Arzoo and treating her as his wife is not a choice he has made driven by comparisons between her and zeenat because for him Zeenat simply does not matter in that way anymore and hasn't for a very long time!
