Heh. Okay, I am inordinately amused by this nervous, jittery Arnav, who sounds hilariously like a teenager exploring his first love.

"Should he call or text her again? He had written so many text messages only to delete them at the very last moment."

Ah- you know, what amused me even more is that just as I read this, my friend texted me with such similar same words! Made my day. 😆 I like how Arnav in this isn't immune to being nervous- he's like everyone else, a little unnerved by this chemistry, the attraction he feels for this woman. It's so nice to see. *Added note- Love the way you carry the no message throughout the chapter. Lovely touch I hadn't noticed.

Hah! Legos :) And the walrus! 😆 Oh my god, you cracked me up- you have a talent for writing incredibly endearing kids. They're just so damn adorable.

Adore the way you describe your characters. They're all so vivid, so well thought out- sound like a broken tape record now, don't I? Despite your description of Sumitra as regal, there's a warmth about her, and I really like that.

"The Khushi": what a way to describe her. I feel like this is reminiscent of how a lot of possible significant others are described between close friends. Your friendships are just so... strong, so real.

But what really got me, was the silence after Arnav finds out that he kept calling her name out. It's palpable- I keep using that word with you, because all of your scenes are, but this... pause, I guess it is, in particular. It's like you can hear his mind whirring, the seconds slowly ticking by, before he quietly asks Maya why she never mentioned it before.

I love that moment. Silence again, with you- those are really some of your best moments, when no one is saying anything.

MB, another great update. Reading your updates is always a treat.

Arnav and Maya - Looking at their camaraderie, I wonder what went wrong in their marriage.

They were great friends first. Then they fell in love and got married. Then got divorced and their friendship only strengthened after that. Strange isn't it. But its true.

In true friendship there are no expectations and pretenses. You can be free around your friend without having the fear of being judged. Since there are no expectations, you dont get disappointed too.

But once they got married, did the equation change drastically? Did each one of them start having expectations from the other which was a bit tough to achieve. Did they start pretending to be someone they were not? Looks like that is what happened in their marriage. Looks like they mistook the caring kind of love they had for each other as the true love type.

In one way its better that they parted and the bitter married life did not end their lovely friendship too.

Now they have such a beautiful friendship and Mohan does not get to see any bitterness between their parents at all.

Mohan is autistic, your description of his behaviour almost confirms it. Poor kid, my heart goes out for him.

Arnav waiting for the text message from Khushi here and on the other side of the world Khushi thinking whether she should text or not. Similar yet totally different scenario.

Both are lonely in their own worlds, yet the loneliness each suffers is totally different than what the other is experiencing.

Khushi is lonely as she misses her dead husband, her shadow, her sanity, her love. She relives all those moments she spent with him and craves for him to come back, which is impossible.

On the other hand Arnav is lonely too. But he probably never experienced the kind of love and companionship Khushi and NK shared knowing that his marriage was a great mistake. So his loneliness is seeking that kind of love, that kind of companionship.

It amazes me how loneliness can mean so many things to so many different people.

MB, now waiting to know more about their shared past.

The Present moment is the only real thing, rest all are either memories or expectations.

Maya..she is really "Maya"..I mow want to know why divorce ? Friendship is love is what KJ said in Kuch kuch hota hai..what happened here?

I want to read Arnav and Kushi's perspective in same update..I think you will narrate the story as Kushi telling to Lavanya and Arnav to Maya..

Arnav saying Kushi's name when unconscious and still waiting for her message says something special..Arnav never spoke about Kushi to Akash? When they were all friends..I desperately want next Saturday to arrive soon

This update was totally unexpected... and I loved it!

Getting a glimpse of Arnav's life with his son, which makes my heart warm. His relationship with his ex, the friendship is what stands out and the willingness to work together for their son is commendable. It was truly nice to see their bond together as a unit. Not many relationships work they theirs do... many kids suffer due to broken marriages to no fault of their own. But this was beautiful, and Mohan is very special child, that needs this love and unity around him...

Just like Nani, I did scratch my head at how well they got along, which makes me wonder what was their relationship built upon. Was it friendship, turned into convenience along with him almost losing his life that made them commit to marriage?

And an interesting revelation, about "the Khushi", there is definitely more than meets the eyes. Which makes really curious to know what was their past? What happened between these two?

It has to be something deeper, since both of their thoughts are with the other, despite them having relationships after they moved on.

BTW... loved how Arnav is waiting for Khushi's text!

And now... I shall wait for another week to see if the past be revealed... 😕

The chapters reveal layers of their lives.. I have so many questions but I will refrain from asking as you are answering them in due course with your updates..

Arnav and Maya are proof that a divorce does not signify the end of a relationship - beautifully depicted ..

His restlessness over no contact from Khushi and the revelation from Maya confirm for me they both share a history beyond friendship .. Look forward to more..
