Choice of a woman. The question that has been asked even during Mahabharatha period. Does woman have a choice or she is a property of the man and has to abide by his decision. The question Panchali asked in the infamous hall of dice asking whether Yudhi had a right to keep her as bet after he became a slave resonates today across centuries.
Men and woman alike blame woman who takes a choice of her own as much as they have blamed Panchali centuries ago. Panchali deserves to be called a wh**e by Karna because she rejected Karna in the swayamvar. Panchali deserved what she got in infamous hall of dice because she laughed at Duri. Panchali was the cause of the great war never mind the only thing she asked was justice for the crime that was committed to her.
It is not different for any modern woman out here. Our hypocrite society is still not able to digest the fact that woman can make choices. It is in this context the hard hitting words by Vidhaan to Jagat needs to be seen.
I as a person have always felt our society will improve when men starts accepting the fact that woman is an individual. She has her likes, dislikes and has enough intellect to make decision of her own. To rock the patriarichial society and its notions men like Vidhaan has to stand upto men like Jagat.
Vidhaan rocked yesterday when he told Anjali has a choice ššš. Jagat had rudely told Sarita that he knows what is right for Anjali when she asked him to wait till Anjali came back. Anjali had the right to go to Everest if she wanted to and Vidhaan had respected her decision and wanted to help her to achieve her dream which unfortunately Jagat had never understood.
He spoke in a very clear manner on how he has got the vibes that Jagat doesn't love his daughter. He has never heard him calling Anjali his daughter, he has not tried to seen what others has seen about her. I loved every sentence of that meeting. Once again a standing ovation to AG for creating such an impactful and beautiful scene san melodrama.
