A YHM Puzzle - Ishita causing more harm or helping Aditya ?
Many things have happened in YHM...That leave you wondering WHY? WHAT? HOW? Etc but nothing frankly NOTHING has reached to this level of hmmm... say Absurdness? The episodes this past week have been discussed and discussed some more. Fans have expressed their views, and to an extent their displeasure over the recent happenings in the show on various social networking sites where members of the YHM team can read the same.
In this 3 part feature we bring you our perspective on the three major angles Ishita-Aditya, Ishita-Raman and Ishita-Shagun over the past week.
YHM as a fictional series has always been one that irrespective of all the drama-high octane or normal was relatable. However the unnatural touch added to certain aspects of this popular show recently makes you wonder what's happened all of a sudden?
Bringing Shagun-Aditya to the Bhalla house, wanting a safe environment for Aditya is acceptable because the bottom line is Aditya is Raman's son and one who Raman longs to be with, whose love he years for. Knowing her husband too well Ishita would only try to reduce the distance between the father-son. If she ever suggests that let them stay with Mihir or in another flat 1) that wouldn't be Ishita because she knows Raman will be worried sick for Aditya; so why destroy your husband's peace of mind 2) one can never forget that its Ishita's selflessness, the goodness of her heart and the beauty with which she loves; that forced Raman to change his perspective about Ishita and eventually fall in love with her. Plus with Shagun having so much control over Aditya (built over the years) it is impossible for anybody to make him stay at the Bhalla House sans his conniving mother.
Ishita - Aditya
Wanting Aditya to feel secure again after the constant changes he was subjected to is not the worst thing in the world. But to be ignorant while dealing with the boy and choosing not to see and differentiate RIGHT from WRONG was completely baffling and all this coming from Ishita who has been shown as an incredibly sorted woman and able parent sure leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
Aditya tells Ishita that nobody wished his mom on her anniversary, taunts Ishita for snatching everything that belongs to his mother. Reason - He can't see anything beyond Shagun. And honestly you can't blame him completely as his reactions are purely based on seeing his mom at her lowest phase lying by the trash in a drunken state a few days back. Aditya's prime focus is to make Shagun happy and since she has been the only stable factor in his life he is doing everything that she is manipulating him to do because of the fear of losing her.
Aditya said what he had to say but shouldn't Ishita be the one pointing out that Raman and Shagun are divorced and divorce couple's don't celebrate their anniversary? OK that would have been too direct and not something Ishita would want Aditya to put up with as he is already going through a rough patch but there are at least a dozen ways to handle the matter, starting with talking to Raman about it all.
Being quite a sensible woman Ishita chose to act in a way which would only harm Aditya in the long run by listening and acting to his whims which are Shagun induced. How would an 11 yr old boy know about the khaandani' earrings unless he has been told to? Seeing Ishita wear an earring would not help him deduce that those are the ancestral earrings now would it? Ishita knows enough to understand that Aditya would never come up with whatever he did unless somebody put it in his mouth...provoked him. Remember the Jail Seq. Ishita was confident that somebody provoked Aditya and it was true as Param did play a nasty game. For somebody smart and observant like Ishita it does not take super intelligence to connect the words to its source. Yet she caves in.
In her profession Ishita deals with a more challenging sector of the human race because she is a pediatric dentist. She'd know that the solution to Aditya's psychological problems is not entertaining his. It's simple logic when you have dental cavities does a dentist ask you to have more sweets/cold items etc and then help you or are you advised to stay away from such things so that the condition does not worsen leading to severe periodontal diseases? Yes, YHM is a fictional series and it is important to create drama to keep the show entertaining but why has YHM risen to such popularity in such a short span of time without dropping? Simply because it always brought forward a storyline that is relatable. One could associate with the various happenings in the show at least 90% of the time which is an achievement because majority of the shows we have today does not even come to a close 60%.
In an earlier episode the writers have beautifully mentioned that a good parent is one who teaches a kid what is right and wrong and does not hesitate to punish the kid if he/she is wrong. Ishita and Raman seem to know that Aditya's problem has risen from the lack of stability in his life. So shouldn't the prime focus be to bring that stability and not keep him in the dark anymore? In Aditya's case Raman and Shagun are his parents and like said Talaq pati-patni ka hota hai Maa-Baap ka nahi'. Though Ishita understands this better than anyone by acting on Aditya's words she is painting him a portrait that ceases to exist.
In the past Aditya has effectively landed Ishita in jail, on accusations of child-abuse. Ishita forgives him but does she continue to rot in the jail thinking it would keep Aditya happy? No, because that's just plain unreasonable!!! Love, comfort and a secure atmosphere on one side what Aditya really needs is a firm hand. Aditya is child who has had a very wrong upbringing. Ishita herself has time and again said this to Raman and vice-verse so as a parent is it not her responsibility to tackle the issue smartly? As a parent one learns new things every day, it's a challenge of sorts because parenting is not text-book regulated and keeps changing with new situations but a basic thing or rule of parenting is to guide your child through the right path. And everything that has been happening during and post the New Year's party only indicates that Ishita should be smarter rather than being emotional while dealing with Aditya for his and everybody else's benefit.
"Hum Adi ko ek safe aur secured ghar de, ki usko ehsaas dila de ki aapne Shagun ko bhale hi chod diya hai par aapne aadi ko nahi choda hai. Aur bhale hi aap aur shagun alag alag rehte hai lekin phir bhi aapko Adi ki khushi ka poora khayal hai ...aap uski khushi ke liye kuch bhi kar sakte ho usko yeh ehsaas hona chahiye"
Every parent wishes for the well being of their child and Ishita wanting the same for Aditya and doing things earnestly for the same is praiseworthy. However apart from all this the underlying angle here is Aditya getting to know his father and accepting him. So in a way doing things that makes him keeping is a way of achieving the same. But Ishita seems to be missing the point that Aditya accepts Raman and whatever it is he does only if Shagun approves of it and if she is happy. So it does make you wonder if tomorrow Shagun says I want Raman in my life and Aditya voice out the same will Ishita gladly step aside. Sochne wali baat hai.
We have seen Ishita take notice of Aditya's every conflicting words and actions and when the boy was being rushed to the hospital after he deliberately consumed the wrong medicine she was also seen thinking about Aditya's step mother-wicked witch story'. So lets hope that this will be the beginning of YHM's detective aka Ishita get into action and get to the bottom of all this.
