Chapter 4 - Awakened Feelings

Recap - Jodha finally finds out what her boss looks like and to her utter shock it was none other than her Mr. Stranger who has been haunting her these past few days. As Jodha comes out of the washroom after taking some time to absorb the fact that Mr. Stranger was none other than the great' Jalalludin Mohammad ,the real person himself appears behind her calling out to her.

"How are you Miss Sharma ?" He asked.

"I... I'm fine Sir ." She replied awkwardly .

"I see that you remembered your office pass today." He said smiling.

"Huh?!" Jodha looked down confused and saw the office pass that he returned her the day before hanging around her neck and replied "Ye... Yes sir. Tha...Thank you sir." Jodha stammered having her eyes on the floor the whole time.

"Thank you? But why?" Jalal asked feigning the fact that he knew she was thanking him for returning her office pass to her.

"Uhm, well you...you were the one who found it sir. I mean you were the one who found my office pass and returned it to me. Also thank you for the other day, for helping me uhm saving me actually and not to mention the trouble you took to drop me home. Not many people would have done what you did sir. So, thank you very much." She said while looking at him straight in the eyes.

Her dark brown orbs looked into his with full of gratefulness but with a tinge of guilt? Why is there guilt in her eyes? He was lost in her eyes trying to figure out what could have made her feel guilty. Was it because she felt that she had troubled him? His reverie broke off when he heard her say Sorry' with an apologetic look on her face.

Now he was even confused, he just can't seem to figure out what is going on in her pretty little head. One moment she's thanking and the next moment she's apologizing?! Seriously, she's such a mystery. Jalal shook his head with a small smile playing on his lips thinking that he can never come to understand her.

"Miss Sharma, I understand that you are thankful that I helped you and all but why sorry?" He asked.

"It's for the other day, at the bus stop." She took in a deep breath unaware that this action of hers caught his eyes to drift towards her chest following the rise of it and continued "I...I didn't know who you were then and I... I mistook you for a thief. I...I thought that you wanted to rob me. I'm really sorry sir. It's just that I was really scared then, the weather was getting bad, it was late and to make things worse the bus was nowhere to be found. All that led to me to think of the worse bu... but still I shouldn't have jumped to any conclusions. I'm really, truly sorry sir." Jodha said while looking at him with a pair of tear filled eyes threatening to flow down her cheeks any time soon.

Jalal found that this whole situation to be funny and felt like laughing but he suppressed his laughter thinking that the poor girl might be hurt or feel even guilty if he did so. Instead, he smiled and assured her saying "It's not a big deal Miss Sharma, anyone in your shoes would have done the same thing. Why even I would have done what you did. So don't worry about it and just forget about this okay."

"Yes sir. Thank you." Hearing him saying this made Jodha smiled for the first time to him. Shocking him in the process as this was not just some smile this smile was different. This was the same smile she gave Moti earlier when he saw them talking animatedly. A smile that you give to a loved one or someone close. He felt his stomach doing a somersault a feeling very foreign for him. As he was about to speak to Jodha, he was interrupted by the brunette manager from earlier, Miss Nisha.

"Sorry to interrupt sir but I heard from Mr. Atgah that you would be needing a temporary secretary until one is arranged for you from the US branch." Nisha asked expectantly.

"Yes, I will be needing a temporary secretary until Abdul sends one for me. Maybe for a week or two. Why? Is there any problem?"

"Oh no sir there's no problem. I was just wondering if you don't mind then perhaps I could..." Just before Nisha could say what she wanted to say Atgah came over saying "Oh Jodha so you were here with Mr Jalalludin and Miss NIsha. I was searching everywhere for you."

"Is something wrong sir? Do you need anything sir?" Jodha asked.

"No, everything is fine and yeah I need something from you."

"What is it sir."

"I was wondering if you can be Mr Jalalludin's secretary until the arrangements for his secretary is done?"

What?! Why Jodha?! Damn it if I knew this was going to happen I would have told Mr Atgah that I'll be Mr Jalalludin's temporary secretary. Nisha fumed as she missed out on the chance to work with Jalal.

"But sir how can I?" Jodha tried to deny however Atgah stopped her saying "Don't worry Jodha, you'll do just fine and it's only temporary for a week or two that's all. And don't worry about your work I'll have Nisha or someone else cover it for you. All you have to do is assist Mr Jalalludin and get the job he gives you done. Will you do that Jodha?"

"Ok sir."

"Okay you'll start as Mr Jalalludin's secretary from this moment on." Atgah told Jodha and turn to Jalal and said "Sir, you don't have to worry about Jodha. She is a good secretary and I'm sure she will not disappoint you in any way. Then, if you'll excuse me. Also Miss Nisha, can you take over Jodha's work or be in charge of finding a replacement for Jodha for a week or two? "

"Ye...Yes of course Mr Atgah." Both Nisha and Atgah left from there leaving both Jalal and Jodha together.

"So, I guess we'll be working together then Miss Sharma. Let's do our best." He brought out his hand to have a handshake with Jodha.

"Yes sir." She took his hands and had a handshake with him.

"Now then let's start work."

"Okay sir."

6.00pm, JM Corp.

Everyone has already left the office the only remaining person there were Jalal and Jodha. Jalal had asked Jodha to organize his room and gave her some documents to file. Jalal looked at the time and saw that it was late and told Jodha "That will be all for today Miss Sharma, you can go home now."

"Okay sir then I'll make a move." Jodha went to her desk to grab her belongings and was about to exit the office when she saw Jalal outside waiting for someone.

"Sir, are you waiting for someone?"

"Yes, I was waiting for you."

"Me?!"

"I thought that I should send you home."

"Oh no sir, you don't have to take the trouble to take me home I'll go home by myself."

"Miss Sharma, it's late and I will feel better if I know you have reached home safely."

"Okay sir."

Jodha's House

"We are here." Jalal pulled over his car at the gate of Jodha's apartment complex.

"Thank you for the ride sir."

"Your welcome. Bye Miss Sharma."

"Bye sir." Jodha bid Jalal farewell and walked towards the apartment gate. Before entering, she glanced over her shoulder and found that Jalal had not drove away, he was still stationed by the car waiting for her to safely go inside. She entered the elevator and waited for the elevator to stop at her floor. After unlocking the door Jodha went inside her house. She dropped her purse on the sofa and went to freshen up.

After having her bath she changed into her cotton salwar kameez pyjamas and decided to go to the kitchen to fix herself dinner. As she was about to go to the kitchen she decided to look out of the window to see if Jalal was still there. What am I thinking why would Mr . Jalalludin still be waiting downstairs? But what if he is still downstairs? She quickly moved to the windows and flipped the blinds and was shocked to see him still waiting downstairs by his car. Jodha hurriedly took her dupatta and hung it around her neck, opened the front door and ran to the elevator after locking the front door. The elevator was taking a long time to get to her floor so she ran down the stairs.

Jalal was still waiting for Jodha at the apartment entrance. He wanted to make sure Jodha was safely inside her home but he didn't know which floor she lived in and he does not have her contact no. so how will he know if she was safe? Damn it I should have asked for her phone no. but would she have given it to me if I asked her? But I can't go home without knowing if she is safe or not. What am I going to do. I can't even go in too since I don't know which is her house.

As Jalal stares at the apartment entrance for reasons even he don't know, he sees a familiar figure running towards him? That's Jodha! His mind screamed. And she came to a pause in front of him short of breath saying. "Si... sir... y... you... a...are... st...still... he...here?!"

"Miss Sharma please catch a breath first."

"I'm fine sir. Sir, why haven't you left yet?"

"I wasn't sure if you reached your house safely."

"Sir, I have reach home safely thanks to you . But sir, why are you still here?"

"I know Miss Sharma I meant you house as in one of those." He said pointing at a random apartment block.

"Oh, right. Of course. Uhm, my house is that one. 5^th floor, 2^nd house from the right. Then... I should get back in now. Thank you again for the ride and sorry for making you wait for so long here sir. "

"No it's okay Miss Sharma and you don't have to apologize I was the one who decided to wait here. It's getting late you should go now Miss Sharma."

"Good night sir." Jodha said before leaving.

"Good night Miss Sharma."

Few moments later

Jodha reaches her house, locks the door and ran to the balcony to signal Jalal that she has reached her house safely. There he was still rooted on the same spot few moments back looking at her balcony waiting for her to appear. Meanwhile after Jodha went in the apartment complex, Jalal's eyes followed her everywhere until he saw her getting on the elevator and switched his view to Jodha's balcony waiting for her to appear and there she was. He let out a sigh of relief when he was sure that she was alright. Just as he was about to leave from there she waved goodbye at him and he left from there after returning the wave.

That night they both had a peaceful sleep hoping that the next day is just as wonderful as this day was for them.

The next day , JM Corp.

"Good morning Jodha." Moti greeted while grinning like a fool.

"Good morning Moti." Jodha replied nervously. She felt as though she had a sudden feeling of Deja Vu when she saw Moti. It seemed like yesterday was repeating itself but of course it wasn't so she asked Moti. "What is it now? Why are smiling like that?"

"OMG Jodha do you know how lucky you are!!!" Moti would have been giggling like a crazy hyena had they not been in the office.

"And why am I so lucky?" Jodha asked thinking what a crazy but sweet friend she have.

"Oh come on as if you don't know what I mean. You are going to be Mr Jalalludin Muhammad's personal secretary starting from today!!! It's like you've hit a jackpot girl and you're asking me why are you lucky? Lots of girls would die to just get that position." Moti replied slightly pissed off by Jodha's ignorance.

"But Moti, I'm just going to be Mr Jalalludin's temporary personal secretary. Just a week or two until his secretary comes from the states." Jodha replied.

"But Jodha you get to see him up close and personal . We don't even get to see him at all. Even yesterday..." Moti sighed. "It was as though he wasn't here at all !!! I've been looking forward to catch a glimpse of him since yesterday morning thinking that maybe I'm not so lucky to get to see him up close but at least a slight glimpse of his face or even his hair would have been enough for me . Call it bad luck or whatever, I couldn't even catch a glimpse of him and even after work!!! He just wouldn't leave his office!!! What is in his office that he doesn't even leave it?!" Moti vented her frustrations.

"Moti you'll never change." Jodha shook her head. "I got to go, see you later."

"Hehe yes I won't. See you, have fun and enjoy." Moti winked at Jodha.

Jalalludin's office, front desk

"Miss Sharma, I'll be in a meeting in my office with some staffs so please make sure no one interrupts me during the meeting and also don't forward any messages or phone calls to my office until the meeting is over. Understood?" Jalal said.

"Yes sir." Jodha replied.

"Oh yeah and Miss Sharma?"

"Yes sir?"

"Please send for a coffee for me - strong , black with a cube of sugar."

"I will sir."

"Well then you can continue your work Miss Sharma."

Few moments later

As Jodha comes out of Jalal's office after serving him his coffee, she sees a beautiful lady dressed in a sleeveless baby blue chiffon dress walked in to the office . The top half of her dress was beaded with matching coloured rhinestones and it's light skirt flowed out just above her knees showing off her toned legs. She wore white diamond studs with her jet black hair tied into a ponytail . Finally after asking a few staff for directions, she walked up to Jodha's desk and said.

"Hello there."

"Hello. How may I help you?" Jodha replied with a smile.

"Uhm I would like to meet Jalal." She said.

Jalal ... The way she called him played in Jodha's mind. "I'm afraid Mr. Muhammad is in a meeting right now ma'am."

"Oh, I guess I'll just wait for him in his office."

"I'm afraid that the meeting is in Mr. Muhammad's office ma'am."

"Then I'll wait for him in the waiting room? If that's okay with you."

"Yes ma'am. And who should I say is here to meet him?"

"Just leave him a message saying that his best friend is here. That will do."

"Yes ma'am." Jodha said guiding the lady to the waiting room.
