Chapter 19

Astha waited with the bated breath, thinking she might be mistaken, the girl must have caught him off gaurd and threw herself on him, after all he is a man who can make woman lose all her senses. They stopped kissing, he looked back at her and grinned, that bas***d grinned!

Astha fumed with complete rage and fury, her fear and nervousness forgotten, angry tears dripped from her eyes, her lips tightly shut, her hands clutched hard enough that the nails was digging in her skin, she didn't mind the physical pain when the emotional pain was intolerable, pain of betrayel. She had never been this angry in her whole life, she wished to tear them apart, especially that insufferable scoundrel whom she gave her heart.

In her fury, she took the bottle of cheap brandy from the table nearby and aimed at her bloody giant then threw it. It flew towards her target but sadly missed mere inches and crashed on the floor. She managed to get his attention, he was shocked to see her, then the next moment scowled at her then he was shocked again. He stood abruptly, the girl on his lap tumbled forward, he managed to prevent the fall, once she was on her feet, he raced towards her. She huffed at her failure and turned on her heels then ran away from there, as fast as she could, away from him.

"Astha! Wait up!" Shlok shouted.

She ignored him, just ran away from him.

"I can explain, Astha!"

They were already in the inn, she marched up to the room, ignoring him and his pleads. She made it into the room and bolted it from inside, she threw herself on the bed and cried with all her heart.

"Astha, please listen to me!" She heard him say while banging the door.

"Open the door!"

"Astha!"

"Go away!" She shouted back.

"I won't! you have to listen to me. I'm gonna break this door! You---"

His voice cut off then a loud thud was heard as if something banged against the door, after that there was complete silence which baffled her.

"You don't need beat him so hard! He's knocked out and bloody bruised!" Virat remarked with a grin.

"I ought to thrash him for what he put me through." Sid replied darkly as he looked at unconcious Shlok, blood seeping from his swollen and bruised lips.

"You're right, he deserve a sound beating for abducting your dear sister." Virat said and kicked Shlok on his ribs, producing a painful groan from him.

"Thanks to his shouting, we were able to locate Astha without even looking so just let him go and move on with the business." Virat said.

Sid nodded and knocked on the door while calling for her name.

"Astha, open the door, will you? It's Sid."

Astha sat up instantly, hearing his voice, Sid! What is he doing here?

She opened the door instantly, upon seeing Sid, she threw her arms with glee and wrapped around him. He hugged her tightly, finally relieved to see her after several weeks of worry and dread, everyday was like a thousand years, only he knows how he spent them, praying and hoping that his sister is safe, nothing has happened to her.

"How did you find me? I just sent you telegram! You knew where I was? Virat! You're---oh my god! What did you do to him?" Astha asked shockingly as she looked down at Shlok, lying on the floor twisted, his mouth covered with blood. She knelt down and cupped his face, trying to examine the extent of damages, thankfully, there were minor damages.

"We gave him something he deserve. Let's get you out of here before he wakes, I caught him off guard that's why I was able to knock him down, I don't want any fight with that hard rocks he calls fists."

"First put him in the room and get him treated." Astha said as she stood up.

"I won't be doing anything!" Sid said angrily. She turned to him sharply and snapped "I understand your fury, Sid! But I don't want him to suffer! Trust me, he won't find me."

"You didn't tell him anything about you?"

"You don't want to know where I come from? or who I am?"

He grinned and replied "It doesn't matter as long as you are close beside me. Nothing matters."

Now she understood why it didn't matter to him who she was or where she came from, because he didn't had any intention to stay with her forever, only she was fool to not understand his meaning.

"He wasn't interested." She replied plainly.

"He wasn't interested in you?!" Both Virat and Sid asked in disbelief.

"Yes."

"He doesn't know you're a woman?" Sid asked.

"He knows."

"Still he wasn't interested?"

Astha pursed her lips in annoyance and replied "Is it so hard to believe?"

Both blushed and hid their grin, Virat replied "You can say that. Let's get this thing done before he really wakes."

"How did you find me? How did you know where I was?" Astha asked as she sat on the bed.

Both Sid and Virat had managed to bring Shlok in his room and lied him on his bed, they asked for doctor and within few moments his treatment started. Once the treatment begun, they left the room, Astha took a last long glance at Shlok and bit her lip to control her tears. It will be the last time she would ever see him, before she lose her control, she left.

They were sitting in Sid's room, discussing to sail immediately to avoid any sort of confortation with Shlok.

"First you'll be telling me, why were you crying and why was he breaking the door apart?" Sid questioned.

"I don't want to talk about it." Astha replied softly.

Sid gave her a long stare before he nodded hesitantly. He will wait for her to speak by herself rather than insist her to reveal.

"It was one of my crew who heard Shlok and his crew discussion to abduct you, he immediately informed me since he wasn't capable to stop those two rogues, but before I was able to get you, the ship already sailed, we weren't prepared to set sail, the crew was not there, the cargos and food too, we waited for it and followed you." Virat said, trying to divert the conversation.

"We were able to catch up but that cursed storm put the distance of two days! We docked just this afternoon and then start inquiring about Shlok, we learned he has his room booked here, when we came here, we heard he was off to somewhere so we waited then we saw you running and he coming after you, we followed you, he was already breaking the door and was shouting your name. I caught him off gaurd and knocked him down." Sid added.

"Thank God, you guys knew, I just sent--- wait a minute, what the hell are you doing here Sid when last I remember you were gone home before I was abducted."

Sid grinned sheepishly and replied "I wasn't gone home, you don't think I will let you leave alone, I would've sneaked in the ship and would've showed myself after the ship sailed but then you were abducted."

"Damn Sid! What about grandpa!"

"Don't worry about him. I wrote a message that I will bring you back with me."

"Will that stop his worry?"

"Can't say anything but it is much better than worrying about your safety which is more disturbing for both grandpa and me."

She lowered her eyes and sighed then replied glumly "You're right. I shouldn't have left in the place. I was stupid to---"

Sid wrapped his arm on her shoulder and replied with a smile "You weren't stupid. You are brave. I don't know what happened to you in this voyage, I'll be waiting for you to tell but don't ever say such crap about you, I won't allow it."

She smiled at him and replied while hugging him tightly "I want this to be over and go home."
