Was it really Folk?

I thought folk songs means traditional music belonging to a region. Does singing in a husky voice make it folk song? Since when is a nautanki song comes in folk category? I thought Emon, Amit and Puja were the only ones who sang folk songs. Are my doubts justified?

Yet another disappointing gala with no actual theme.

Emon: 10/10 It was brilliant. One of the best renditions in Indian Idol 3

Prashant: 5/10 His start was off-key. His voice is good but he needs to learn a lot otherwise all his songs will sound like renditions attempted in a college party.

Deepali: 6/10 It was a tough song but since she chose it we have to rate her on that. One of the worst of hers. No feel and technically too she was not up to the mark. I am very sad because she is my fav. in this show.

Abhishek: 4/10 It was terrible. I am surprised to hear such a poor rendition in galas.

Puja: 9.5/10 Her voice suits for off-beat songs. She is mostly in sur and shines in this genre.

Amit Paul: 9/10 He was very good but wrong selection of song because the song has no charm. Not like his previous renditions but still fabulous.

Ankita: 5/10 Her song selection was right. She was a hit because the song is a hit but totally off-sur. I hope she concentrates on sur too along with performance.

Chang: 8.5/10 He was technically good but at times I felt like a Non-Indian singing (just some words). Still it was his best in the galas. Ashu (Tally Ho) will be happy seeing my rating on her Dr. Chang😃.

I would have loved to hear songs like...daiyaa re daiyaare chad gayo papi bicchua or nain lad jahin hain in this gala...

I agree with your ratings too...as for Chang...I have a feeling it is a case of too lil too late... 😭

Who the hell are u to give 6/10 to deepali. she sang tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.she is one from top 3

puja...wat can i say...she was just outstanding..i loved her song selection! 👏 👏 it was my fav song from taal...she always chooses my fav songs 😆

I thought Amit's was. Then again I am not sure. But UP-Bihar lootna is a folk? It is a nautanki song. Nimbooda is a folk? Not sure.

yes i also had the same question. i dont think it was folk 😕 or may be i am having the wrong defintion of folk song 😆 😆 😆 i like your ratings however i diasgree with prashant and ankita, ankita was besuri but had the spark i would give her 7, prashant was better than previous shows, so i would give him 7 too.

me too i am rooting for emon and amit, deepali is out of my list, i have lost interest in her, among girls i am rooting for puja and ankita although she is besuri, she needs to be a little more trained.
