Hello allđ
I tuned in to watch Pukaar first epi yesterday, and m pleasantly surprised, it started well for pilot episodeđ
My take on what was good and not so good đł
the Hits
- Raj Babbar and Ranvijay - both are very well cast in the respective roles! raj babbar's voice is a treat to hear - and obviously he is a stalwart in actingđ m glad to see how BW actors are debutting on TV..and are contributing to quality in terms of acting and picking right roles... and ranvijay did very well in the three fight sequences yesterdayđ I think he has lot of scope to improve with respect to emotional scenes, but for first epi - he looks the part and did well enuf
- Direction and the pace - army men concept is not totally unheard of, we have had a few shows in the past on the same, which have been in the range of decent to good - fauji, Left right left, saaraa aakash...so the bomb sequence in the start looked underwhelming, but as the show progressed, the direction improved and so did the pace- they set up good base for emotional content as well as the action sequences...I specifically enjoyed the last half n hour - very interesting
- Editing was good for the most part - specifically loved the scene where the scene transitions from raj babbar's character and his wife dancing, to ranvijay's character dancing alone to his brother running for life! very nicely executedđ
the Misses
- the deceased bro story is been there, done that - not much novelty there
- the dialogues - very filmy, cliched to the hilt - dialogue writer can try and make it little less repetitive...đ„±
- the nirupa roy maa...m tired of bechari maa and dutiful wife character, for once we can see a headstrong woman as army man;s wife too
- the girlfriend/ friend - Adaa is pretty bad in acting, and again a cliched character, but I guess her character would come in handy later, coz she is a journo...
