Nayana,

An insightful and beautifully rendered post. Loved your insights and agree with you completely.
For me the whole track is on an illogical premise and was introduced just to bring in sa. It has become now a norm that for bringing in some story they mercilessly butcher the existing characters and we couldn't make sense out of anything being shown.
Agree with charu all mothers have been portrayed to an extent over exaggerated and we couldn't relate to any of them.
If we watch the serial we get too many questions as
why jo was alone stopped and why not ruq was stopped or questioned or even informed abt her meeting with salim? doesn't shenshah's laws applies to her ? once jalal told even king is not above the law but it seems ruq is above the king even as no laws or rules of the land seems to apply to her.
Where is the woman who brought justice to adham without severing marital relationship of her husband .
why the woman who had always fought for justice and bravely stood against anyone is now shown silently suffering at the fate of her child and even worse she thinks he is right ? I'm terribly confused here.
i'm still wondering how this punishment benefits salim or anyone involved .
and was shocked to hear jo saying her son is developing good qualities? My question is when has he lacked it? He was shown already as a sensitive caring guy who think of justice and love his grandmother and feel responsible for her .So what new lesson had salim learnt? yes justice needed to be done to the grandma and salim should learn not to run away from situations .but that could have been explained to him .
Coming to the emperor ,where is the one who understood a child's fear (Rahim) and delicately handled him to tell the truth? Where is the one who even changed his verdict seeing the plight of a child and pardon his parents ? This all when he said he was jallad. But how could he now fail to see his own son's fear and sensitivity.
The simple answer is
For sa they wanted a strong emperor and a subservient wife who will support him and in the process killed the essence of the characters we fell in love with and i'm curious as to what reason would they give for jalal opposing nadira for salim .That would be again another character assassination .Inconsistency of characters is only becoming the consistent thing .
But is he really strong now ? For me personally no.The strong emperor i loved is the one who being a jallad too bend before kaalima even without any explanation and calmly asked her why she wished so as he know from mohan incident that her hate for him has some reason behind it and the one who strived to uphold the honor of his wife by taking the blame on himself ,the one who wanted to take the punishment to feel the pain of his citizens. I neither liked the te in atifa nor the te now and i don't even wish to go on to the fateful night of hussain's death.
For me the biggest loss is by doing all this they not only killed any interest in the story foward, but even couldn't go back and watch the older episodes without these portrayals coloring it.
The worst of all is drugging and hypnotizing an innocent kid and the person who did it is going to be unpunished and her deeds would never come out . even if they couldn't give any positive message ,where there comes a need for portrayal of such a highly negative message.

Thanks Prav,

My dear the same questions, inconsistency and continuity of the Serial from character to storyline and dialogues to their famous prophetess prophecies has lingered in my thoughts forever.

And I kept saying oh it will get better and to my horror it gets worse and worse by every track they come up with and I asked myself is the Population who is loving this kind of negativity and awkward story to portray the country's prominent people in history in the name of fiction?

I just don't understand it any more. Usually I have a principle of sticking to decision but for once in my life I feel challenged to carry through my own principle because I feel so stupid watching such storyline honestly.

Since they have turn a deaf ear to fans outcry to up things in order but pick doing as they please I think it is time for us who can't stomach such crap to advice ourselves.

Thanks Charu,

It is rather unfortunate with what the show storyline has become. And the only question on my mind is whose ideas is playing here Ekta? A group of psychopaths? A group of male writers? Cause I fail to get the understanding that a woman or women can pen down such crap about themselves! Unless there is something wrong emotionally with them all one way or the other.

I also believe that they may be under 'pressure' to write a particular kind of script, keeping the TRP's, monetary gains and the "head's" creative preferences in mind.

Hi Nanayaa,
A powerful and excellent writeup. So, eloquently put. 👏

The fact remains and will remain, no matter what happens, to the relation of REEL mother and son.
It is wrong even for Salim to be shown like this, he respected all the elder ladies.

I read the following lines for Salim, mentioning here. >

-- " The Emperor's respect for his mother, Mariam-Uz-Zamani was exceptional, and the air of expression was filled with the tales of stature she was bestowed upon. " --

Thanks so much my friend.

The intelligent and wisdom level of the so called creatives is very shocking. I just don't know what they hope to achieve for the Serial they called Jodha Akbar 'epic love' with such storyline.

So now I will sit back for them to do their thing cause for me there is no common sense to this storyline.
