I think the resemblances are there but they stop with the strong female characters. I think the show is Indianised to an unrecognisable extent. Plenty of people brought up the Revenge similarity but they end with the clash and maybe to the creation of Durga, a new identity which is similar but different in the Amanda/Emily angle. Also Shaurya as a villain and the rape which are the crux of the story are not there in revenge. The lead male wan't a villain and wasn't even Daniel since he isn't involved with the cover-up initially. The Amada/Emily issue doesn't arise and Dev is different from Jack,he's Shaurya's brother and there is no younger sibling angle of his brother(who isn't there) and Shaurya's sister
since they would be siblings🤢🤢🤢!!!
Revenge is actually closer to American daily soaps, with paternity confusion and adultery.Daniel's half-sister was also Emily's half-sister which was a bit too incestuous for me and I think for Indian audiences.Unless Kangana is Durga's half-sister and Nitya's dad had an affair w/Sakshi or some-sort of forced thing which seems unlikely and again too closely incestuous.😕😕😕
I think the role of the media is exaggerated. The media in America tends to focus a lot more on the rich families, over here when the Ambani son crashed a car the blame was put on someone else and the media went along w/ it and doesn't really ruin the 'rich' so while the Sahara CEO is being charged with corruption,no channel is really covering it.So the using of media is far-fetched and maybe copied.
I watched Revenge off-and-on till Daniel changed and read the synopsis on Wikipedia but it was too over-the-top to watch..ETH hasn't reached that level of soap-ishness yet.⭐️⭐️⭐️
