I think it is true for rest of India as well, which is why the message they convey through YHM matters.we might think no one watches soaps for moral science but it has an effect.Passing stringent laws is not going to solve this problem nor enforcement ,if that were the case the first world would have fewer incidents of rape which is not true.The change has to come in the mindset of people.

They should shame Ashok and Param in public.Take the issue to their mothers.

In our society the victim is shamed while it should be the other way around.

our films, literature.. television are a reflection of our attitude as well as a weapon to bring forth change.

It has to be like a carpet bombing campaign.

Nisha - I agree with what you had siad and that is we have to watch out and be responsible for our own safety. No matter where we live whether it is in India or in any other country there will always be crazies roaming around looking for their prey. No matter how strong you are physically and mentally it does leave an emotional scar when you undergo the trauma in the hands of those vultures. I loved the fact that they are showing the emotional toll that has taken on Ishita after she was harassed so badly by a group of men. The last time when Param tried to molest her they did not explore the possibility of her being affected emotionally. In the show, the thing that I like to see is that eventhough it is not Ishita's fault that she was stuck at a wrong place she should stand up for herself and report those morons to the police and make sure justice is served for all the other girls who have been the victims of perverts like Param.

The other day I was at the groecry store in the afternoon and a creepy guy was following me around all through out the store and mind you this is in broad daylight and there was also two security guards in the store one up front and one at the back and there were surveillance cameras and all that shebang. Yet, there was fear growing inside me and I picked up speed and got my items checked out and left as fast as I could. I was not going to take any chances eventhough the environment was more than secure.
