Some people are not getting this.

The main character of the movie. What the film is centred on is the hero. It's from their point of view.

Just because they act a role of something negative like, gangster, criminal , theif does not make them the antagonist.

The antagonist would be the people after them in the movie.

So yes Amir, Hrithik and John played thieves in the Dhoom franchise but the movie was centred on them. They are the heroes.

The antagonist would be the characters after the theives and their roles are usually minor as the film is not from their point of view.

Such as

Police officers, detectives, law enforcement etc.
