An eternal love story of Dushyant-Shakuntala

I thank Edna Phillip for making this banner 4 me.

Part 1

Seeing the Haldi function pictures of Khushi in 'Is pyar ko kya naam doon' I felt she resembled the mythological character Shakuntala because of her dressing...her hair decoration with artificial flowers...her flower like accessories.A few years back star one aired a mythological show called Shakuntala.Still I wish they remade 'Shakuntala' again with Barun and Sanaya as they would be perfect as Dushyant and Shakuntala.So I am writing a Two shot on the love story of Dushyant and Shakuntala.Though the plot is same,scenes are completely my imagination though I took inspiration from the situations in the original story.Since the scenes are different from the mythological one, please don't get hurt.Please take it as a story and enjoy the Sarun version of 'Shakuntala'.I have written the Jenam version also as I feel other than Sarun it's Jenam who can carry off Dushyant and Shakuntala.The Sarun version is almost same except a few changes in scenes.

Shakuntala may not be a Princess literally,but she was the Princess of the forest where she lived.

She was loved by everyone.

It was when she walked carelessly in her Jungle she slipped and fell into a stranger's arms.
An unknown force pulled them to each other.
A deep eye lock...

She moved away from him.
S:Are you a King?

D:Yes.I am King Dushyant.Who are you?You are beautiful like a Princess.
She blushed:Shakuntala.
She ran away blushing.
He couldn't leave her and go from the forest.So he made a hut there and stayed there.
The next day his eyes waited for her.Surprisingly again they met each other.
She was surprised:King Dushyant...Still you are here?And like an ordinary man you are staying in a hut?

D:Yes,because I didn't feel like going away from you.
She blushed.
He stood close to her and whispered in her ears:I love you.Tell me...do you love me?
His words sounded magical to her.She blushed.

She ran away.
D:I will wait for your reply.
Hearing that she blushed.

Thinking of Dushyant's words Shakuntala kept blushing.
She shared this with her best friends Priyamvada and Anusuya.
They were very happy.
P:Tell him that you love him.
S:I can't.I am shy.

A:Then write a letter and we will convey him the message.

Shakuntala was hesitant for a long time.Later in the presense of her friends
with a cute smile she wrote 'I love you...yours Shakuntala' on a leaf.

Priyamvada and Anusuya went to Dushyant with the leaf.
They:We are Shakuntala's friends.
They handed over the leaf to him.
Reading the words written on the leaf he couldn't be more happier than this.

Shakuntala was sitting near the Krishna-Radha's romantic sculpture and pasting turmeric on her face.Dushyant reached there.
Seeing him she blushed.He could'nt take his eyes off his beauty.

He couldn't control any more.He moved closer to her sensually.

He held her closer.

They stood closer to each other as if they were one.

Dushyant caressed her soft hand .

He rubbed his cheek with hers.Shakuntala was lost in his magical touch.

S:Dushyant...

His skin became golden as the turmeric on her face spread over his face.

He smelled her fragrant hair.

His finger pampered her flower like lips sensually.

She was lost in him.

Coming back to senses Shakuntana moved backward in nervousness.

D:Shakuntala...what happened?
S:I am scared.You are a King.You will go back.My love will be a failure.

S:No...never...I will never ditch you.I will make you my wife.Very soon I will make arrangements for our wedding.
She was very happy.

She looked at him with surprise.

The next day...

In front of the Radha Krishna sculpture Dushyant Shakuntala accepted each other as their spouse in the form of Gandharva Vivah.

He held her closer.

They sat like Krishna Radha in the sculpture...same romantic posture.

They shared the same love Radha Krishna had for ne another.In that magical moment they became one.

Shakuntala spent her free time before the Radha Krishna sculpture and remembered the sensuous moments she and Dushyant shared there with a blush.

Their romantic moments were short lived.Dushyant decided to go back to his Kingdom which left Shakuntala heart broken.
He wiped her tears:Don't be upset.I will be back soon to take you to my Kingdom.
She was relieved.
Dushyant took out a ring

and slipped it on her finger.

It had their names on it.She was surprised.
D:Bye.
S:Bye.
They bid Good-Bye painfully.

Shakuntala spent each and every moment thinking about Dushyant.

So she did not know Sage Durwasa's arrival.Feeling ignored he shouted at her.
"You ignored me for someone else?I curse you...

The person whom you are thinking about would forget you".

Hearing him shout she came back to her senses and looked at the sage in fear.

S:Please forgive me...I didn't do it intentionally".

She fell at his feet and begged him.

His heart melted.

He:I can't take my curse back.But one thing I can assure.

If you show that person something he had given you... then he will remember you again.

Her eyes fell on the ring which he gifted her.

She thanked him:Thanks a lot Swamy...

On behalf of Shakuntala Anasuya and Priyatama told her foster father Sage Kanva about her relationship with Dushyant.Kanva was shocked.Shakuntala was scared to face him.But he caressed her face emotionally.

He:I will never go against your wish.Your happiness is my happiness.

She was very happy:Baapu...you are the best father in this world.

Kan:When will King Dushyant come to take you?

S:I don't know Baapu.But I can't wait to see him.I want to go to his place to see him.

K:Don't worry...I will take you there.

She was very happy.

Anusuya and Priyamvada pasted Haldi on Shakuntala's body.

A:After the turmeric bath your skin will glow more.

P:King Dushyant won't be able to take his eyes off you.

Shakuntala blushed.

A:But the truth is that already King Dushyant is flattered by our Shakuntala's beauty.
Shakuntala kept blushing.

After the turmeric bath Anusuya and Priyamvada dressed Shakuntala beautifully.Shakuntala was wearing her wedding attire as she felt she looked the best in it.

P:You are going to be a Queen.

A:So now itself you need to dress up like a Queen.

Shakuntala smiled.
P:Will we ever meet?
Suddenly they became sad.
S:Priyamvada...
She hugged Priyamvada.They both wept.

Anusuya wept seeing them cry.Then Shakuntala hugged Anusuya:I will visit you all even if I become a Queen.

They tried to smile.

On the way to the Kingdom, as Shakuntala was crossing a river, her wedding ring fell into the water. A fish swallowed the ring.Shakuntala and Sage Kanva reached the Palace.Dushyant wondered who they were.

D:Please let me know why you both came here.

They were shocked.

Shakuntala's eyes were full of tears:I am Shakuntala...your wife.

Dushyant got irritated:What rubbish!I am not married and you are saying that you are my wife.How dare you?

Shakuntala was reminded of Sage Durwasa's curse.

She decided to show the finger ring to him,but suddenly she realized that her ring was missing.

She burst into tears.

Kanva:What happened daughter?

S:Baapu...the only proof of our relationship is missing.A finger ring.

Dushyant:A finger ring?Ridiculous.Before creating more drama leave from here.Since you are a woman and the person who accompanied you is an old sage I am leaving you both.

Feeling insulted Shakuntala and Kanva left the Palace.

Their tears made the Palace wet.
Seeing their tears Dushyant thought:Why do I feel that their tears are not fake?
