Zoya. A 25 year old girl of the modern world. She was kind, beautiful and independent. She had a loving family, several close friends, a successful career...in short, a life she was fully content with. But still sometimes she had this weird feeling. No matter how much she tried to brush it off, it kept coming back to her...again and again, especially during the times she sat alone with a cup of coffee, or when it rained...or when she went to sleep during winter. She felt alone...incomplete...like something was missing, like someone was missing. She couldn't really pin-point who or what it was...but that didn't stop her occasional cravings.
She was the kind of girl who preferred to walk than drive. One day while walking back after some shopping, she bumped into someone. Her shopping bags fell down and she bent down to lift them up, and so did her culprit. And then he looked up at her, she looked up at him and their eyes met. His eyes were so deep, so full of emotions...she felt like drowning in them. She couldn't bring herself to look away. Time stilled and everything ceased to exist around them. She felt like it was just her and that stranger present in the whole world. And instead of creeping her out, that feeling actually felt quite warm and soothing. Something in his eyes told her it was enough. With him around, nothing else was gonna matter. They would be safe...and happy. Together. Always and forever.
The moment ended when someone on the street pushed against her. She got up feeling flustered. For a while she tried to avoid the eyes of the stranger who gave him so many feels. But she couldn't control herself anymore and looked back at him again. She was shocked. She was staring at an empty spot. There was nobody standing there. How was it possible? He was there a moment back. The street seemed deserted and cold now. Was it a dream or something? All her imagination? But one of earrings she had purchased was sparkling a few feet away on the ground. So it wasn't a dream. It was real. He was real. Then where the hell did he disappear? And why? She felt angry at him-a man whose face she probably hadn't seen properly. At least he could have said sorry or something before disappearing. Mannerless. Shaking her head, she picked up the earring and resumed her walk back home. But unlike before, she didn't feel calm now. Inside her, a war was going on and several thoughts were running free and wild. By the time when she went to bed, she was still confused. The whole encounter stayed at the back of her mind for days. But like they say time heals everything. Life goes on. With time, she got busy with life and forgot about it. Until she bumped into someone...and looked into his eyes. Again. Her heart was such a little naughty thing. Again she had the same feels! But this time something was different. She was determined to avoid the bitter feelings his disappering arose in her. This time she didn't give him a chance to walk away. They talked. She literally forced him to talk. He opened up to her, slowly but surely.
He was different. Different from the men in her life. Introvert, traditional, OCD-freak. But along with that, he was very strong, handsome, kind. Inside that tough exterior was the heart of a child she adored like anything. Most of all, he loved his family. He would do anything for them. And she felt very fortunate and lucky that she belonged right there.
Her family loved him. His family loved her. They were married after two years. Happily married.
And you know what, she felt complete now. Those cravings she used to have before...they were gone, replaced by other cravings. Like right now, she wanted to eat pizza like anything. But looking at him sleeping so soundly, she didn't have the heart to wake him up. She had already disturbed his sleep two hours back when she had wanted ice-cream. But pizza...
"Asad!!!!"
There was no other way. The pregnancy hormones ruled her moods...what could she do?
