I know whatever pregnant mother hears or reads or thinks can affect the foetus also. That may also contribute in forming some characters. So if you're serious about this, don't advise reading this book. It has some negative shades like death of Karna's small son and younger brother, vulgar language during VH, last chapter having Karna's painful death and books ends with Vrishali doing Sati. We can never predict the mental conditions and mood swings of a pregnant woman. So if such scenes can cause an emotional disturbance in the lady, it might affect the baby in an adverse way. So if reading this book is taken seriously by someone, ask them not to read it.
