Karishma contradicted herself

In her defense, Karishma was telling Sushant that she only answered NO to relieve him from sevak status because she was going by what she thought Gautam would answer. If Karishma was so convinced that Gautam is so vengeful that he would want Sushant to continue suffering as a sevak, why did she answer yes to returning Sushant his soft toy? 😕
