detecting underage magic...

hey y'all...

i've been wondering this for quite a long while now, and still cant seem to come up with a proper answer...

in HPCOS and HPPOA, harry is sent letters from the ministry because they detected magic at 4 privet drive.... they may not know who actually did the magic, but they know magic was done....

BUT in HPGOF, HPOOTP and HPHBP, magic is done again at 4 privet drive, and yet the ministry never questions it.....

we could think the ministry only catches big magic, like blowing someone up, or doing a complicated charm like the patronus charm, but in HPCOS, dobby only does a levitating charm, which is trivial.....

and plus, in HPOOTP, the ministry's trying their hardest to get harry expelled, and you'd think they would detect any sort of magic at 4 privet drive, but they dont....

so just wondering why the ministry detects some underage magic and not others......

What kind of magic was done at 4 pivet drive..Please post more examples and/or explination to relate what you are talking about.

If the magic is done at a muggle place wid no wizards dere then the Ministry of magic comes to know about. Bec they know dat only 1 wizard is there at dat time, and dats an underage wizard. If lupin does magic, the minsitry wud not cum to know abt it bec its done by a registered wizard who has crossed the age of 17.
