Liverpool will have to top their transfer record if they want to land Spain striker Fernando Torres.

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo is understood to have told potential suitors they will have to pay the 27million release clause in his contract to land him.

There are suggestions a delegation from Liverpool has been in the Spanish capital looking to tie up a deal before other clubs can muscle in but the two parties are not thought to be close to an agreement.

Manchester United and Chelsea are also believed to be monitoring movements, according to press reports.

Skysports.com understands Fulham have stepped up their interest in West Brom's Diomansy Kamara.

Fulham boss Lawrie Sanchez is keen to sign the free-scoring forward and has already seen one bid for Kamara turned down by West Brom earlier this month.

Roma are reported to have rejected a bid from Liverpool for Alessandro Mancini. Reports emanating from Italy suggest Roma have shunned an offer from the English club for the talented Brazilian. Reds boss Rafa Benitez is believed to have put Mancini on his list of transfer targets this summer as he looks to add to his attacking options at Anfield. Mancini enjoyed a fine season with Roma last term and he has established himself as a key player in the Giallorossi side.

Liverpool have been quiet in the transfer market so far this summer, but they are believed to have offered €19million (12.7million) for the skilful winger.

transfer update

Bolton have agreed a deal for Liverpool midfielder Danny Guthrie.

The 20-year-old is set to spend the whole of next season on loan at the Reebok Stadium.

Guthrie is highly-regarded within the corridors of Anfield and he made his first-team debut last season for Rafa Benitez's men.

Bayer Leverkusen defender Juan has joined Roma on a four-year contract.

Roma have stumped up €6.3million (4.2million) to sign the Brazilian, who had spent five seasons with Leverkusen.

He has accepted a four-year deal with Roma and will link up with his new club after playing for Brazil at the Copa America in Venezuela
.

Reports suggest that Juan's arrival at Stadio Olimpico could signal the departure of Cristian Chivu to Internazionale.

Sevilla have emerged as rivals to Newcastle United for David Rozehnal.

The Paris Saint Germain defender is expected to make a decision on his future on Friday, with Sevilla and Newcastle now fighting it out for his signature.

Borussia Dortmund have withdrawn from the hunt, with Newcastle having offered in the region of 3million for Rozehnal.

Marseille have completed a triple raid on the transfer market, including a deal for Monaco captain Gael Givet.

The defender is joined at Stade Velodrome by Le Mans full-back Laurent Bonnart and Auxerre midfielder Benoit Cheyrou.

Givet has signed a four-year contract with Marseille after bringing an end to his career-long association with Monaco.

Bonnart has agreed a three-year deal with l'OM after successfully passing a medical with the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.

The third arrival on the South Coast on Thursday is Cheyrou, who follows in the footsteps of his brother Bruno by donning a Marseille shirt.

Marseille are also still trying to finalise a deal to keep Djibril Cisse on loan from Liverpool for a further season.

Feyenoord want to take Wigan Athletic midfielder Denny Landzaat back to Holland.

Landzaat joined Wigan last summer in a 2.5million deal from AZ Alkmaar and grew in stature as the season wore on.

He scored twice in 33 Premier League appearances, including a stunning long-range effort in the controversial 2-1 defeat at Arsenal.

Schalke have confirmed that Lincoln is on the verge of joining Turkish side Galatasaray.

The Brazilian playmaker is expected to sign a contract with Galatasaray early next week after opting to end his three-year stint with Schalke.

Reports suggest the German club will receive €6million (4million) for Lincoln, who has 12 months remaining on his current contract.

transfers 27 june 2007

Internazionale claim that Cristian Chivu is interested in a move to the San Siro.

Skysports.com revealed at the weekend that Barcelona were keen on the Roma defender, while Real Madrid have also been linked.

Inter spokesman Marco Branca admits there is competition but is confident of pushing through a deal for the Romanian.

Atletico Madrid have given their clearest indication that Fernando Torres could leave the club and that Diego Forlan could be his replacement.

With Liverpool said to have made their interest in the highly-rated striker known, the Spanish club are now playing a waiting game.

Atletico official Miguel Angel Gil Marin admitted he was aware of The Reds' desire to sign Torres and said that one of his jobs this summer could be to look for a replacement.

Liverpool have added Bulgarian Under 21 international goalkeeper Nikolay Mihailov to their ranks, according to his club Levski Sofia.

The keeper - who turns 19 on Thursday - is understood to have signed a three-year contract at Anfield, with the option of a further two years.

"I have no words," Mihailov told sportal.bg after passing a medical. "This is the greatest moment of my life."

Barcelona appear to be in pole position to sign Roma defender Cristian Chivu, who has also attracted interest from Real Madrid and Internazionale.

The Romanian international has been linked with an exit from Stadio Olimpico this summer and Catalan giants Barca have tabled an offer in a bid to snare the highly-rated defender.

transfer news update 19 july 07

Aston Villa have clinched the signing of Marlon Harewood from West Ham.

As revealed by skysports.com earlier this week Villa agreed a fee with West Ham for the striker.

Villa made their move for Harewood after he held talks and underwent a medical at Wigan last weekend
.

After weighing up both offers, Harewood has opted to join Villa and he has signed a three-year deal at Villa Park.

Skysports.com understands Fenerbahce defender Edu Dracena is a target for several English clubs.

The highly-rated defender is thought to be considering his future at Fenerbahce as he ponders moving to one of Europe's elite leagues.

Dracena enjoyed a fine season with Fenerbahce last term, helping them win the Super Lig and impressing in their Uefa Cup run.

The Brazilian international's performances have attracted the attention of a host of clubs throughout Europe.

The 26-year-old has been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid in the past and he is regarded as one of the best central defenders around.

Everton and Bolton are both thought to be keeping tabs on Dracena and are ready to offer him the chance to move to England.

Internazionale have signed Luis Jimenez and Nelson Rivas.

According to the club's website the pair took part in Inter's training camp in northern Italy on Tuesday, however no details of the transfers were released.

Chilean playmaker Luis Jimenez has moved to the San Siro after falling out with the management at his former club Lazio.

Real Zaragoza have signed defender Francisco Pavon from Real Madrid on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal at the Estadio La Romareda.

Pavon's current contract with the Spanish giants expired at the end of last season and he was not offered a new deal at the Bernabeu.

Sir Alex Ferguson says Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze will not be joining Liverpool.

Heinze is looking to leave Old Trafford over the summer due to concerns about his first-team opportunities this season.

Real Madrid are being linked with a sensational €60million move for Andres Iniesta.

In Spanish football every player has a get-out clause in his contract, which in theory means a club can buy a player without the consent of the seller.

In the case of Iniesta he has three years to run on his current Barcelona deal - with a buy-out of €60million (40million), which Real are now
considering matching.

Barca opened contract talks with Iniesta at the end of the season, following reports of interest from Serie A.

Aston Villa have emerged as favourites to sign Charles Itandje from Lens, according to reports in France.

Itandje admitted last month that he was unsure of his future after Lens signed goalkeepers Vedran Runje and Ronan Le Crom.

He has one year left on his contract but has been linked with several clubs across the continent, including Birmingham, Derby, Racing Santander and Real Zaragoza.
