21st Century Religion

In this 21st Century, the Age of Technology, we are still plagued by religious beliefs that may be a contributing cause of terrorism, killings and wars between nations. Belief in a God who causes catastrophes, punishes people and who created the universe out of nothing as if by magic was brought about by hysteria and superstition. This thought process needs to be reassessed and brought up to date. Open-minded people must use common sense to determine whether mankind's God was incorrectly perceived, misinterpreted and misunderstood by the masses of a bygone era.

If this Allah/God collective of our ancestors consists of pure intelligence and pure logic then it cannot possibly be encumbered by human attributes. It has no needs or desires to be worshiped, prayed to, exalted, venerated, deified, or anything else that we have to offer. Religion characteristics are to exercise power upon others; control, dominance, destruction, punishment, revenge and judgment. Everyone is individually and personally responsible for his own soul's destiny if this collective exists. The destruction of civilizations, most sufferings and premature deaths are due to our frailties, our stupidity or human imperfections. The greatest fallacies are beliefs that split people, religions and countries.

(I received the following email from a cardiologist in Iraq)

-------------------------------

Dear Peace Seeker,

I have secretly forwarded your email with the attached book Urantia United to some of my colleagues at the hospital. We are in agreement that the philosophy within that book can possibly be the starting point that is needed to educate and change the ideology of the Muslims who are now committing dastardly terrorist attacks against innocent civilians.

----------------------------------

The book is 607 pages and is FREE by emailing me at peaceseeker3000@gmail.com or it is $0.99 at amazon.com Look for Urantia United

Islamic terrorists use their religious ideology to promote and strengthen their causes. In order to counter this and establish some rationality within their ranks a new ideology needs to be established. Will this work? Maybe not, but it may be worth trying. Bombing terrorists may just recruit more followers.

I agree...and all religions should eliminate superstitions and adapt scientific principles. This can be done via Transcendology.

Transcendology explores the possibility of spiritual transcendence. Its goal is to determine if the energy in our spirit dies with our body upon our physical demise or if it can possibly pass into another dimension; a collective, an existence that has been called God by mankind. Is our spirit capable of receiving inspiration therefrom and can it establish lines of communication with this other dimension, as claimed by Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, etc.; prophets who established monotheistic religions? Upon our physical demise, can our spirit enter into a spiritual realm to be united with this spiritual collective, this government that guides the development of our universe like a master planner? Could this be a collective that consists of all of the knowledge that has ever existed in the universe? Is the purpose of our life to gather experiences that will add to the progressiveness of this collective?...or is our death the end?

I do like many religions for various reasons, personal and practical.
Because of human imperfections having many religions is necessary to keep things moving. Humans are competitive and egoistic and love to promote and display their own religion of choice. And towards this end they may even do some charitable works to garner support.
But when religion is mixed with politics, then as usual it is disaster.
Every religion has it own beauty and peace which we can enjoy. Many religions also allows us to have our own space and privacy. I would hate neighbors harassing me to go to the Church, Temple or Mosque every now and then too.
Main problem with many religions is that it causes friends and families to break up because of religion. So to avoid this I guess we may need a religion that embraces all religions. Unfortunately, it will not last because for reasons of human imperfections and egos they will want to form their own exclusive groups. 😆

Religion is a product of society. Religiousness is what every human experiences time-to-time.
I cannot say anything about religion, because no matter what, it is something deeply entrenched in the society. Religion is a sensitive topic, and therefore, I think religion should be relegated to one's private life... to start with ~ as it has become a sort of social identity. So, then, one can really see how people will start dropping religion.
Basically, religious feelings are very deep, close to each man's heart, and discussing it, questioning a man's religion, only makes it lose it's sanctity. A step forward in this would be to stop asking people their religion in application forms, and slowly the people must also change their mindset, and keep the religion or their religious feelings within in the premises of their homes.(I'd say heart but, man wants to express always). Actually I think one cannot express or discuss his religious feelings FELT by him.
Anyways, isnt it wonderful how most people in China have no religion? But does that mean they do not experience religious feelings?? They do... inside their heart.. that is beautiful, has it's own sacredness, depth and simplifies the life... giving way to original spiritual growth.

Hey by the way, China does have quite a fair bit of Buddhists, Christians and Muslims living in different parts of China.
But generally they have in the past been guided by Confucius Philosophy and way of living.
The Divine lives in all, but is some cases it is more deeply buried. sooner or later everyone returns to the Divine or the origin.
Some say God exists because we believe in one, at times our own minds create whatever we want to believe in ( Aliens, Angels, Gods, Satans etc). Personally, I love the idea of a personal God or Guru in whatever form, human or invisible or just pure light etc.

Religions basically are great and inspirational, but when in this 21st Century, the Age of Technology, we are still plagued by religious beliefs that may be a contributing cause of terrorism, killings and wars between nations, then intellectuals should attempt to find solutions for these problems; hence I submit Transcendology.

Could anyone please enumerate the religions that ask their followers to loot, kidnap, rape or kill other human beings?

Practitioners of Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Tao, Shinto and Zoroastrian are probably closer to being able to achieve spiritual enlightenment than religions that are hindered by belief in a deity conceptualized in a human form. The deity of many religious followers was the result of spiritual interpretations by the pre-conditioned minds of their messengers; hence we have various monotheistic religions.
