Pariwaar - The story of a family...

Characters:
Shahrukh Khan as Nitin - Nitin is a very strong man. He is the oldest son of the family and is in charge of his own company. He works together with his father and brothers. He has a lovely wife Sheetal who takes great care of him...But one day everything changes for a stupid shaak.....

Amit Jain as Pranav - Pranav is the 2nd oldest son of the family. He is a fun natured guy. He works hard too but he also likes to have fun. He has a beautiful wife Maya who looks after him at all times. Things take a turn one day and their relationship changes......

Abhishek Bachan as Rakesh - Rakesh is the youngest son of the family. He is not yet married. Although he likes to help his father and brothers in the business he isn't so good at it. His brothers think its best for him to just study. He is unmarried and waiting to find the right girl...

Rani Mukherjee as Sheetal - Sheetal is a very lovely girl. She loves her husband very much. She looks after him all the time...She has a big group of friends. Her husband tends to get jealous a lot...One day his jealousy exceeds all limits.

Me as Maya - Maya is a very cute girl. She loves her husband to death. Everything is fine with their relationship until one......

Priyanka Chopra as Reena - Reena is a very outgoing girl. One day Rakesh and Reena meet through college and become best friends. Reena is a different type of girl. She loves to have fun. One day when Rakesh approaches his father to take her hand in marriage things go downhill. Prakash doesn't like Reena's character and doesnt want them to get married. But eventually he learns that Reena is not bad and allows the marriage. Reena isn't as innocent as she seems...Will she be the perfect "bahu"? Or will she create such problems to break up the family?

Amitabh Bachan as Prakash - Prakash is a very strict father. He wants his sons to succeed in everything. He can be the meanest father ever or he can be the nicest father ever

Hema Malini as Shalu - Shalu is Prakash's wife. Their marriage has lasted for 40 years and they are still happy. Shalu loves her sons and daughter-in-laws to death. All she wants to see is them happy...but things go wrong and she starts to hate them...but once again her "mamta" brings her to love them again...

Pariwaar is a story that revolves around a family. Everything starts out perfect. Things go downhill from there. Doubts, problems, anger, greed, jealousy all come in and destroy the family and its reputation. Things go out of limit. Everything goes wrong. What will happen? Will the pariwaar break apart? Will any of the sons divorce their wives? What will happen to the sweet pariwaar when ties break loose?

Chapter 1:

[The Kapoor household]

Shalu - Rakesh! Kaha ho tum.
[Out of nowhere Rakesh appears and hugs his mom tight.]
Rakesh - Oh mama I love you!
Shalu - College nahi jana hai?
Rakesh [starts groaning] - Mom I feel sick...
Shalu - Sick ka bacha! Another excuse...[she pulls his ear.]
Rakesh [gives the "please can i stay home look" - Mamma...
Shalu - Dont Mamma me...Only today...
Rakesh - Thanks mom! [hugs her tightly.]
Shalu - Ab chodo bhi...go study.
Rakesh - Tik hai!
Shaul - Aur hai go call your bhabhis!
Rakesh - ok!
[Rakesh is in such a great mood. He happily runs to call his bhabhis]
Rakesh - Maya bhabhi, Sheetal bhabhi! Mom's calling you....[He then runs off into his room.]
[Both Maya and Sheetal walk out of their rooms at the same time.]
Maya - Hi Bhabhi!
Sheetal - Hi Maya...!
[They both walk up to their sasu]
Shalu - Hi meri pyar bahus...
[They both smile.]
Shalu - Ok so there's lots to get done today. Lets get busy!
[All three walk into the kitchen to start preparing lunch.]

Chapter 2:

[Kapoor Industries.]

Secratary - Sir...Your father has called you into his room. And has also told you to bring your brother.
Nitin - Thank you. You may leave now.
Secratary - Ok sir. [leaves]
[Nitin gets up and goes to Pranav's cabin. He walks in.]
Pranav [gets up immediately surprsied because usually there is always a knock on the door before anyone enters.] - Bhaiya you can at least knock.
Nitin - Shut up. Bapuji has called us in his office.
Pranav - Ok...
[They both leave their cabins and go to their father's cabin. They knock on the door.]
Prakash - Come in.
[Nitin and Pranav both walk in.]
Prakash - Sit down.
[They both take a seat.]
Prakash - You two are my oldest sons. You both have a lot of responsibitlity in the household. I'm getting old now so its up to you two to take care of everyone. Its almost my retirement age so I will soon be planning to retire and spend some more time with your mom. Nitin, you being my oldest son I hand this company over to you...
Nitin [shocked] - Bapuji?
Prakash - Yes...I will still work here for another few months but after that it's up to you Nitin. Pranav I expect you to also help your brother with this company. He can not do it alone. Understand?
Pranav - Yes Bapuji.
Prakash - I also want Rakesh to start here too.
Nitin - Nahi Bapuji. I think right now he's better off with college. He's not mature yet and he can't handle a company like this.
Prakash - We'll see about that. But for now I'm holding you two responsbile of this company. The future of this company lies in you Nitin and Pranav. Dont let me down.
Nitin - Never Bapuji.
Pranav - We promise we'll keep the name of the company forever.
Prakash - I have full faith in you both. You may get back to work now.
Nitin - Yes Bapuji.
[They both leave and go back to their cabins.]

Chapter 3:

[Back at the Kapoor household. Lunch has already been served and eaten. It is 5:30 pm and Prakash, Nitin, and Pranav were expected to return home around 6:00 pm.]

[In the kitchen.]
Shalu - They should be coming soon.
Maya - Yeah...[smiles as she is eagerly waiting for Pranav]
[Sheetal notices.]
Sheetal - Kya baat hai Maya?
Maya [blushes] - Kuch nahi bhabhi.
Sheetal - Kuch to howa hai kuch hogaya hai...
Maya - Bhabhi...[shy]
Shalu - Kya kar rahi ho Sheetal....Dont make her feel embarassed. Tum bhi waise hi thi jub tumhare aur Nitin ke shaadi howi thi...
[Now it's Sheetal's turn to blush. She remembers the past when she first came into the Kapoor household.]

[Past]
Shalu - They should be coming home now.
[Sheetal smiles as she is eagerly waiting for Nitin.]
Shalu - Sheetal?
Sheetal [lost in her own world.] - Huh?
Shalu - Kya howa?
Sheetal - Oh kuch nahi. Bus I was missing him.
Shalu - Kaun? Nitin?
Sheetal - Yeah. He's at work all day and me at home. We dont get enough time together.
Shalu - Oh ho...
[Sheetal blushes and smiles.]

[Present day.]
Sheetal - Mamma please.
[Maya smiles after hearing the story.]
Shalu - That happens to every new Bahu...Its normal.
[Maya walks out of the kitchen smiling. She goes into her room.]
Sheetal - Mamma aap bhi naa...[blushes.]
Shalu - Chalo pagli. Lets go out now. Dinner's all ready.
[They both walk out of the kitchen and into the living room.]

Chapter 4:

[Maya was in her room and Shalu and Sheetal were watching television. Rakesh was still in his room studying. Soon Pranav, Nitin, and Prakash came home.]
[Both Nitin and Pranv walk up to their mom and touch her feet.]
Pranav and Nitin - Jai Jinendra Maa.
Shalu - Jai jinendra...
[They all take a seat.]
Shalu - Kuch chaye? Pani, juice, milk, tea, coffee?
Prakash - Bahuo nahi hai?
Sheetal - Kuch chaye bapuji?
Prakash - Nahi beta.
Pranav - Where's Maya?
Shalu - She's in her room. She was eagerly waiting for you to come home...
Pranav - I'll go meet her and come...[He gets up and leaves.]
Prakash - Aur Rakesh?
Shalu - He's in his room studying...

[Pranav knocks on the door.]
[Maya's heart skips a beat.]
Maya - Kaun?
[Pranav opens the door, comes in, and closes it.]
Maya - Aap?
Pranav - Nahi bhoot!
Maya - Aap bhi naa.
Pranav - Oh come on Maya...Who else would it be?
Maya - How was your day..
[Pranav goes to sit down next to Maya and puts his arm around her.]
Pranav - Fabulous...
Maya - Kuch chaye? Water, juice, milk, soda, tea...
Pranav - Bus bus...how many more drinks are you going to name? Phir kahogi soda? Kaunsa soda? Pepsi, cola, Fanta, Sprite, 7-up...
[Maya blushes.]
Pranav - Acha baba...sorry...I love you...
[Maya blushes.]
Pranav - So bad...my wife doesnt love me...
Maya - Nahi aisi baat nahi hai. I love you...
Pranav - To phir??
[There is a knock on the door.]
Sheetal - Maya, Pranav....it's dinner time.
Pranav - Yeh bhabhi bhi naa! Hum ate hain...
Sheetal [smiles] - Ok!
[Maya and Pranav walk out of their room hand and hand and go to the dining table.]

Chapter 5:

Shalu - Maya go call Rakesh.
Maya - Ji mamma...
[She leaves to go call Rakesh. She knocks on his door]
Rakesh [reading his notes aloud...] - Biology is the...
[Maya knocks again...]
[Rakesh gets up and opens his door.]
Rakesh - Bhabhi one minute....[he continues reading and after 5 minutes he finishes]
Rakesh - Sorry bhabhi...
Maya - Koi baat nahi. COme for dinner.
Rakesh - Sure.
[They both walk to the dining table and take their seats. Sheetal is serving the food.]
Prakash - Maya wont you help Sheetal?
[Maya gets embarrassed. She gets up...]
Sheetal - Nahi nahi Maya I've got it...Sit down.
[She sits back down.]
Prakash - Wow what food we have today! Everything.
Shalu - Maya made it!
Prakash - Maya?
Shalu - Yes.
Prakash - Wow! I must say its really good Maya.
Maya - Thank you bapuji...
Nitin - Lovely food...
Sheetal - Excellent!
Rakesh - Wow bhabhi! Great food!
Shalu - Pranav?
[Pranav takes a bite of chapati and Paneer. He starts chewing. Everyone is staring at him]
Pranav - Is this what you call food? Eww...
[Maya looks upset.]
Pranav [notices the looks on everyone's face] - Arey Maya lighten up. I was only joking. Excellent food sweetheart!
Maya - Pranav...
Pranav - Sorry baby...
[They all start eating their dinner. They soon finish.]
Prakash - Rakesh come to my room after you clean your plate.
Rakesh - Ok dad...
[10 minutes later everyone gets off the dining table. Niten and Pranav go to freshen up while Sheetal, Shalu, and Maya go in the kitchen to clean up.]
[Rakesh goes into his father's room.]
Rakesh - Ji dad?
Prakash - I want you to start work in our company...
Rakesh - Me dad?
Prakash - Yes you... I know you are capable of doing it...
Rakesh - Dad I want to study.
Prakash - Of course you'll also study. You will do both...
Rakesh - But...
Prakash - Maine keh diya so keh diya...you may leave now...
[Prakash is upset. He leaves and goes to his room.]
[Around 8:30 pm when all the household chores are done everyone except Rakesh are gathered in the living room.]
Prakash - Where's Rakesh?
Sheetal - I'll go see...
[She goes to his room. She knocks on the door. There is no response...She opens the door and walks in. She finds Rakesh sitting on his bed upset. She sits down next to him.]
Sheetal - What happened Rakesh?
[Rakesh looks up.]
Rakesh - Bhabhi dad wants me to start work.
Sheetal - So what's wrong with that?
Rakesh - I want to study first...I cant do both at the same time...Its hard.
Sheetal - Aww Rakesh. I'll try to talk to Bapuji...See if things can work out...But if he doesn't listen to me then I cant help you.
Rakesh - Thank you bhabhi.
Sheetal - Acha now lets go to the living room. Everyone's waiting for you...
Rakesh - Ok.
[They both walk out of the room and go into the living room.]

Chapter 6:

[The next morning.]
[The previous night Sheetal tried her best to explain to her bapuji that Rakesh didn't want to work yet. But Bapuji wasn't ready to listen and insisted that Rakesh started work Today itself. Both Pranav and Niten were awake and ready for work. Rakesh however being his lazy self was not ready.]
Prakash - Where's Rakesh?
Nitin - He's sleeping...let him sle...
Prakash - NO...Go wake him up NOW and tell him to get ready...
[Nitin goes to Rakesh's room. He shakes him.]
Rakesh - Kya bhaiya...Sone do naa.
Nitin - Get up...Bapuji is mad...
[Rakesh gets up immediately.]
Nitin - You're starting work today.
Rakesh - Today? But bhaiya I have to go to college today. We have a big exam...
[Prakash walks in]
Prakash - Go to college. But after your exam I will send Nitin and Pranav to come get you and you will start work today itself...[he leaves the room after saying this.]
Rakesh - Bhaiya...
Nitin - Come on get ready. Sorry I can't do anything...[he leaves.]
Rakesh [moans]
[He gets up and takes a shower and brushes his teeth. He leaves for college without anything to eat and without saying bye to anyone. He usually does all this before he leaves.]
[2 hours later at around 1:00 pm he returns home from his college.]
Maya - How did the exam go?
Sheetal - Yeah...?
Rakeh - It went ok...but bhabhis i'm so tired...and I have to go to work now...
Sheetal - Sorry Rakesh. I tried...
Rakesh - Its ok...Not your fault.
Maya - Go freshen up. Nitin bhaiya and Pranav will be here shortly.
[15 minutes later Pranav and Nitin show up.]
Niten - Sheetal where's Rakesh?
Sheetal - He's getting ready...
Pranav - Maya call him...
[Maya goes to call him but before she takes a step Rakesh appears.]
Pranav - Lets go...[They leave.]
Sheetal [shakes her head] - Poor Rakesh...
[Suddenly Sheetal experiences lots of pain in her stomach.]
Sheetal - One M...[she runs to the bathroom and vomits.]
[Maya is scared. She runs up to Sheetal.]
Maya - Bhabhi are you all right?
Sheetal - Yeah...dont know what happened there...
Maya - Wait I'll go call Maa..
[Maya runs off to call Shalu. Shalu comes immediately rushing to Sheetal.]
Shalu - Kya howa beta?
Sheetal - Kuch nahi. Just threw up and feeling a little dizzy.
[Shalu takes Sheetal to her room and makes her lie down.]
Shalu [smiles] - You have to take rest now...Tomorrow we'll go to the doctor's.
Maya - Mamma is she ok?
Shalu [smiles and leaves.]
Sheetal - Maya...Pagli...I think...[she touches her tummy and Maya understands immediately.]

Chapter 7:
Maya - Oh Bhabhi. Congratulations!
Sheetal [smiles] - Maya I'm not sure yet but thanks if its true.
Maya - Its great news! And I'm sure Nitin Bhaiya will be so happy!
Sheetal - Yes he will. Maya you dont need to call him bhaiya.
Maya - I know...i love him...[joking]
Sheetal - Kya? Kya?
Maya - Mera matlab hai ke I love him as a brother and I respect him and so I call him bhaiya. He's also elder to me in relationship. But its true Sheetal that if you hadn't married him I would have!
Sheetal [surprised] - Maya? Bad girl ok! I'm telling Pranav!
Maya [smiling] - I love him too!
Sheetal - Two lovers?
Maya - Nahi 4!
Sheetal - Who? [laughing]
Maya - Nitin bh...
Sheetal - And to say you call him bhaiya...[makes a puking face]
Maya - Bhabhi!
Sheetal - Ok sorry. Go ahead name them!
Maya - Ok so Nitin bhaiya, Pranav and you know those two actor Abhishek and Saif?
Sheetal - WHAT?
Maya - Yeah I love them!
Sheetal - Maya your crazy! Wait till Pranav hears all this!
Maya - Bhabhi you know you're not going to tell him!
Sheetal - You might want to reconsider that!
Maya - Bhabhi please.
Sheetal - I'm just joking! I wont tell him. Its our secret!
[Both smile.]
Sheetal - Ok I'm getting up now. There's so much work to do.
Maya - No bhabhi you need to rest.
[Shalu walks in.]
Shalu - Sheetal you need full rest.
Sheetal - Maa I'm fine...
Shalu - Chup. I called Nitin and he'll be coming home shortly.
Sheetal - Maa why did you bother him?
Shalu - You need him.
Sheetal - Mamma I'm perfectly all right.
Shalu - No you arent.
[Sheetal stares at Maya and Maya gives her the "mom's are always like that" look.]
Shalu - Maya come and help me!
Maya - Ji mamma. Sheetal bhabhi take rest!
[Sheetal stares at her smiling!]
[Maya and Shalu leave the room and go to do work.]

Chapter 8:
[Nitin comes home early from work. Pranav, Rakesh, and Prakash are still at work.]
Shalu - Nitin!
Nitin - Maa this is great news if its true!
Shalu - I know!
Maya - Congratulations bhaiya.
Nitin - Thank you so much Maya. I hope its true.
Maya - Go meet bhabhi!
Nitin - I am!
[Nitin goes to his room. Sheetal is in the bathroom. She soon comes out.]
Nitin - Oh my Sheetu!
Sheetal - Nitin?
Nitin - Maa called me at work and told me to come early to take you to the doctor's.
Sheetal - Maa bhi naa. I told her I was fine. Really I am...I just got a little dizzy and threw up. Nothing big.
Nitin - You must take care of your health darling.
Sheetal - I know baba. I'm fine.
Nitin - Ok chalo. Lets see your pregnency test.
Sheetal - Pagal...
[They hug and then leave their room.]
Nitin - Maa, Maya, we are going.
SHalu - Give us good news!
Nitin - We will!
Maya - Bye bhaiya, bhabhi!
Sheetal - Bye 4 lover girl!
Maya [blushes.]
[Sheetal and Nitin leave and drive to the doctor's office.]
Sheetal - Hi I would like to have a pregnancy test.
Nurse - Please go there. [She pointed to a small room. Nitin and Sheetal went inside.]
Nurse - The doctor will be in shortly.
[They wait for 15 minutes. Finally the doctor arrives. She takes the test.]
Doctor - Congratulations Mr. andn Mrs. Kapoor. You both are about to become parents!
Sheetal [excited.] - Oh thank you doctor.
Nitin - Thank you so much!
[They leave the office very happy.]
Nitin - Sheetal I love you...
Sheetal - Me too!
[They cant wait to go home to give the good news]!

Chapter 9:
[They soon arrive home. Pranav, Rakesh, and Prakash are back from work. As soon as Nitin and Sheetal enter everyone comes to the door.]
Shalu - Beta?
[Sheetal looks down shy.]
Nitin - Maa, Papa, aap dono dada dadi ban rahe hain!
Prakash - Such?
Shalu - Aww...
[Sheetal takes the blessings of her parents.]
Prakash and Shalu - Jeeti raho.
Maya - Congratulations bhabhi and bhaiya.
Nitin - Thank you Maya.
Sheetal [winks] - Thanks!
[Maya blushes.]
Pranav - Congratulation Nitin bhaiya and Sheetal bhabhi.
Nitin and Sheetal - Thank you Pranav.
Nitin - Where's Rakesh?
Maya - He's sleeping. He's tired.
Nitin - Oh ok. Let him sleep. We'll tell him later. Sheetal you go rest too.
Shalu - First lets all eat.
Sheetal - You all go ahead. I'm not hungry.
Shahlu - But you must eat in this health.
Sheetal - Please maa.
Nitin - If she doesnt want to eat no body's forcing her!
Pranav - Oh ho Nitin bhaiya!
Nitin - Chup! Go Sheetal take some rest.
[Sheetal leaves to go to her room. Maya follows.]
Pranav - Maya darling where are you going?
Maya - I'm coming!
[They both enter Sheetal's room.]
Maya - BhabhI!
Sheetal [smiles] - Yeah Maya?
Maya - Stop making fun of me in front of everyone.
Sheetal [smiles] - I cant help it!
Maya - You're so mean!
Sheetal [smiles and lays down.]
Maya - Meaine! Good night!
Sheetal - Good night Maya.
[Maya closes the door and leaves the room.]
