Chapter 17
[Prakash's eyes are filled with anger. Rakesh notices his father]
Rakesh - Reena go away.
Reena - Why?
Rakesh - Just go...
[Reena leaves and walks away as Rakesh approches his bapuji]
Prakash - Kaun thi woh?
Rakesh - Ek dost?
Prakash - Aaj ke baad I dont want to see you around her.
Rakesh - Lekin Bapuji...
Prakash - Dont you argue with me. Get inside.
[Rakesh silently goes inside the house.]

Sheetal - Ok bye guys!
Raj - Come again sometime.
Sheetal - Definintly.
[Just as Sheetal walks outside the building Nitin's car drives up. He gets out of his car furiously.]
Sheetal - Nitin? Tum?
Nitin - Haa mein? Kyun dar gayi...
Sheetal - Nahi bus just surprised.
Nitin - What the hell were you doing here?
Sheetal - Nothing. I just came down to meet my friends.
Nitin - Never again go meet your friends without my permisson.
[Sheetal shakes her head in agreement.]
[Rahul and Raj step out of the building.]
Nitin - Let's go.
Raj - Kaisa pati hai?
Rahul - Feel sorry for her.
[Nitin hears this.]
Nitin - YOU BOTH JUST SHUT UP. YOU HEAR SHUT UP.
[He gets in the car and drives off.]
Sheetal - Kyun karte ho aisa Nitin?
Nitin - Mujhe tumhara friends pasand nahi hai.
Sheetal - Please...
[They soon get home. Sheetal angrily goes in her room.]
Shalu - Kya howa?
Nitin - Kuch nahi maa...
[Nitin follows Sheetal and closes the door behind him]
Nitin - Why are you creating such a big scene in front of mom?
Sheetal - Me? Nitin I'm not creating any scenes in front of anyone...You are...
[There is a knock on the door.]
Nitin - Kaun hai?
Shalu - Mein...
[Nitin gives one look at Sheetal and opens the door.]
Shalu - Kya ho raha hai?
Nitin - Kuch nahi Maa...
Shalu - Sheetal?
Sheetal - Maa kuch nahi...
Shalu - Come here Nitin. I need to talk to you...
[Nitin follows his mom outside.]
Shalu - Nitin...yeh kya hai? Sheetal is not fine. Dont cause any problems or any tensionss for her at this stage.
Nitin [forgot for a while that Sheetal was pregnant] - Maa...
Shalu - Chup. Uska khyal rakha. Dont yell at her. Dont make her upset or udaas. Keep her happy.
Nitin - Tik hai Maa...
Shalu - Now go...
[Nitin re-enters the room. Sheetal is on the bed with tears in her eyes.]
Nitin - Sheetu I'm sorry.
Sheetal - Leave me alone.
Nitin - Please forgive me...
Sheetal - Nahi...[She goes to sleep]
Nitin [comes on the bed beside her and touches her tummy]
Nitin - Acha maat maaf karo...[talks to the baby] Your mamma is bad. You forgive me nah?
Sheetal - Stop teaching the baby bad things...
Nitin [ignores her and talks to the baby] - Papa ko maaf karega na? Karegi na?
Sheetal [a smiles forms on her face]
Nitin [looks up at Sheetal]
Nitin - That's my Sheetal!
Sheetal - Pagal!
Nitin - I'm sorry.
Sheetal - It's ok..[They hug tightly]

Chapter 18
[Prakash, Rakesh, Nitin, and Pranav are at work. Rakesh hasn't spoken to anyone today. His mood was horrible.]
[Back at home Sheetal and Shalu were in the kitchen.]
Shalu - Sheetal you should rest.
Sheetal - No I'm fine.
Shalu - Where's Maya?
Sheetal - Hmm...That's strange. She's usually the first one awake. Maa I'll go see.
Shalu - Ok.
[Sheetal walks towards Maya's room. She knocks. There is no response. She enters and finds Maya still asleep in bed. She walks toward the bed at sits down in a chair.]
Sheetal - Maya?
Maya [in a weak voice] - Bhabhi aap?
Sheetal [noticing that Maya is not well] - Kya howa?
Maya - Kuch nahi...
[Sheetal touches her forhead]
Sheetal - You have a fever.
Maya - My head hurts so bad.
Sheetal - Do you want medicine...?
Maya - No...
[Shalu walks in the room]
Shalu - Maya kya howa?
Sheetal - Mamma she's very sick. Unko bukhar hai. And her head is paining.
Shalu [worried] - Doctor ko phone karo..
Sheetal - Ji mamma. [She leaves the room to call the doctor.]
Shalu - Maya tum tik to ho naa?
Maya - Pata nahi maa...[tears start forming as she's in a lot of pain.]
[Sheetal returns in a few minutes.]
Sheetal - I called the doctor. He should be coming shortly.
Shalu - Aur hai Sheetal go call Pranav.
Sheetal - Ji mamma.

[Sheetal goes to call Pranav. She dials the work number and asks to secretary to give the phone to Pranav.]
Pranav - Hello.
Sheetal - Pranav this is Sheetal.
Pranav - Bhabhi. How are you?
Sheetal - Mein tik hoon lekin Maya...
Pranav - Kya howa Maya ko? [scared]
Sheetal - She's not doing well. She has a high fever and her head is hurting terribly. Please come home immediately.
Pranav - Ok bhabhi. I'll be there right away.
Sheetal - Jaldi ana.
[She hangs up and goes back into the room]
Sheetal - Pranav will be here soon.
[Sheetal takes Maya's hand]
Sheetal - Hang in tight Maya. The doctor will be here shortly.
Maya - I...my head hurts so much...
Sheetal [very worried] - Just a little longer...
[10 minutes later the doctor arrives.]
Doctor - Please Sheetal and Shalu I need you both to step outside of the room while I examine her.
[Shalu and Sheetal go outside of the room.]
Doctor - Maya can you hear me?
Maya [weak] - Y..e...s
Doctor [takes her temperature]
Doctor - It's very high...

[Pranav comes home]
Pranav - Kaisi hai Maya?
Shalu - The doctor is examining her.
Sheetal - She wasn't well at all.
Pranav - Lekin yeh sub howa kaise?
Sheetal - Pata nahi...
Pranav - Bhabhi...? [Scared]
Sheetal - Shh..Kuch nahi hoga...[She hugs Pranav]
[The doctor comes out]
Sheetal - Doctor?
Pranav - Doctor meri patni tik hai?
Doctor - We will have to admit her to the hospital. Her condition is severe.
[Everyone is shocked and surprised. Pranav breaks down. Sheetal and Shalu both hug him and get ready to leave for the hospital.]

Chapter 18
[Prakash, Rakesh, Nitin, and Pranav are at work. Rakesh hasn't spoken to anyone today. His mood was horrible.]
[Back at home Sheetal and Shalu were in the kitchen.]
Shalu - Sheetal you should rest.
Sheetal - No I'm fine.
Shalu - Where's Maya?

Chapter 19:
[Prakash, Nitin, and Rakesh are informed of Maya's health and immediately rush to the hospital. There they meet Shalu, Sheetal, and Pranav.]
Prakash - Maya kaise hai?
Sheetal - Bapuji her condition is very severe.
Prakash - Pranav kaha hai?
Sheetal - Woh doctor ke paas hai.
Rakesh - Yeh sub howa kaise?
Nitin - Mein bhi yahi soch raha hoon...
Sheetal - Pata nahi. She just wasn't feeling well this morning.
Shalu - Bechara Pranav. Uspe kya beet rahe hongi.
SHeetal - Maa hum sub hai naa. Maya ko kuch nahi hoga.
Rakesh - Kuch nahi hoga bhabhi ko.
[Pranav comes back a few minutes later]
Sheetal - Kya howa?
Pranav [restraining tears] - She has to go through a brain operation.
[The entire family is shocked]
Sheetal - Omg...
Nitin - Humhare paas itne sare pasie bhi nahi hoge operation ke liye.
Pranav - I will get the money somehow. I have to...[breaks down]
Nitin [goes towards Pranav] - Dont worry. We'll arrange for the money.
Pranav - Bhaiya I'm so worried.
Nitin - We all are.
Sheetal - Lekin bhagwan ji hai humare paas aur Woh Maya ko kuch nahi hone dega. Woh jal se jal tik ho jayege.
Shalu - Hai.
Prakash - Rakesh aur Nitin tum dono paise ka intazam karo. THe rest of us will stay here.
Nitin - Ji.
Prakash - Woh bank mein jo safe deposit hai naa us mein se sara paise le lo and get the rest from somewhere.
Nitin - Ji Baupji.
[They both leave the hospital]
[Bapuji sits down next to Pranav]
Prakash - Pranav himat rakho. Maya ko kuch nahi hoga.
Pranav - Bapuji I'm very scared.
[Shalu comes to sit down next to Pranav]
Shalu [through tears] - Nahi Pranav aise haar nahi mante...
[Sheetal, who has her hands on her tummy, comes up to Pranav]
Pranav - Arey bhabhi sit down...[He gets up and lets Sheetal sit down]
Sheetal - Pranav maa tik keh rahi hain. Himmat rakho.
Pranav - We'll just have to wait for the operation to be over.
[Pranav and Shalu go to the small temple in the hospital to pray. Shorly Sheetal and Bapuji follow.]

Chapter 20:
[2 hours have past now. Nitin and Rakesh are back with the money. They give it to the receptionist and go look for Bapuji. They find him and Shalu sitting.]
Rakesh - Any news of bhabhi?
Shalu - Nope not yet.
Nitin - Where's Sheetal and Pranav?
Shalu - They are still in the temple. Pranav is not doing well.
Nitin - I'll go and meet them.
Rakesh - Me too.
[They both leave and go to the small temple. They find Sheetal and Pranav in a little corner and walk towards them.]
Sheetal - Nitin? Rakesh?
Nitin - Dont worry. We got the money situation out of the way.
Rakesh - Hey bro...[trying to cheer Pranav up.]
Nitin - Rakesh, take your bhabhi back to Bapuji and maa.
Rakesh - Ok...
[Rakesh and Sheetal leave and go to the waiting room. Nitin sits down next to Pranav.]
Nitin - Pranav please. You cant loose hope like that.
Pranav - Bhaiya I'm very scared. Brain operations are very risky.
Nitin - I know Pranav. Dont worry. We will get through this soon.
Pranav - Bhaiya I dont know how this happened. But I think I'm to blame myself for what happened.
Nitin - No Pranav. Dont say that. It is not your fault. Its just a test that Bhagwan ji is putting us through.
Pranav - Nahi Bhaiya. I got upset at Maya the other night and I feel very responsible for the condition she's in.
Nitin - No Pranav. Dont think that way. Please.
[They continue talking for a while and then they began to leave the temple. As they come out they bump into the doctor.]
Pranav - Doctor Maya kaise hai?
Doctor - The operation is complete now. The next 24 hours are critical.
Pranav - Can we see her?
Doctor - No not yet. She is unconsious. She is expected to regain concious in the next 5-6 hours and if she doesnt then...I dont know what to say?
[Nitin puts his hand around Pranav]
Nitin - Thank you doctor.
[They walk back to where the others are. A tear drops from Pranav's eyes.]
Pranav [thinking] - Kyun? Mere saath hi kyun kiya?

Chapter 20:

Chapter 21:
[The whole family waits for the doctor to give permission to meet Maya. 2 hours later the doctor approaches.]
Pranav [immediately getting up as he sees the doctor] - How is she? Can we meet her?
Docotr - Yes you may meet her. But take turns. Only one person at a time. And Pranav when you're done come see me in my office.
Pranav - Ok doctor. THank you. [He rushes into the room, sits on the stool next to the bed and holds Maya's hand.]
Pranav - Maya...
Maya [feeling much better and stronger] - Pranav...
Pranav [trying to restrain his tears] - I'm sorry.
Maya - For what buddhu?
Pranav - For the state your in.
Maya - Shut up. It's not because of you.
Pranav - The other night...I was so rude to you..
Maya - Forget it Pranav. Its ok.
Pranav - No its not ok. I'm sorry baby.
Maya - I love you.
Pranav - I love you too...
[They just hug for 10 minutes without saying a word.]
Pranav - Ok I'll let the others meet you.
Maya - Ok.
Pranav - I'll come back in a while.
Maya - Ok.
[He leaves, lets his family know that he's done and someone else can go meet Maya, and he heads towards the doctor's office. He knows on the door.]
Doctor - Come in. [Pranav walks in]
Doctor - Ahh. Please come Pranav. Sit down. [Pranav takes a seat]
Doctor - Ok well we found a small tumor in Maya's head but through the operation we were able to move it successfully. Her head pains were because of the tumor. But now I'm happy to inform that she's absolutely all right now and nothing of this sort should happen again. She will be on medication for 3 months but I assure you that she wont experience any head pains again.
Pranav [surprised at hearign about the tumor but thankful she's allright] - Thank you doctor. Thank you.
Doctor - And I advice you not to tell your family about it. Let alone your family but dont even tell Maya about it. She doesen't know.
Pranav - Ok doctor. Thank you.
[He gets up and leaves. He goes to where his family is]
Baupji - Kya kaha doctor ne?
Pranav - Maya ab tik hai.
Shalu - Maine kaha tha na...
Nitin - Cheer up Pranav!
Rakesh - Cheer up bro!
[Everyone starts smiling and they all give each other a hug. Soon Sheetal, who is the last person to meet Maya, comes out touching her tummy.]
Nitin [trying to act funny] - You ok baby?
Sheetal - Uff. Yes I'm fine!
Pranav - Ok Bapuji, Maa, Rakesh, Nitin bhaiya and bhabhi you all can head home now. I'll stay here with Maya until she's ready to go home.
Bapuji - You sure?
Pranav - Yes.
Bapuji - Ok then. Chalo.
[Everyone follows Baupji out of the building as Pranav stands alone in the hospital both hands folded thanking god for Maya's recovery]
