what derogation? 😕 I was kidding, and pun intended. Knowledge is power, but knowledge can be used in positive or negative ways. 😕 And why would I belittle people with phd and post-docs? I intend to go for one myself. 😕

what do you mean? girls not welcome in phd programs or people don't respect people who keep studying and think that such people are trying to avoid the real world?

sound, i disagree about the grass being greener on the other side. Although i have yet to experience the 20+ life of an independent, self sufficient, earning adult I feel that teen years is the best stage in a person's life. We are mature, learned and independent enough to think for ourselves, make our own decisions (not regarding very imp. issues tho..just minor things) and see both sides of an issue. However, we are young enough to have someone to guide us when we dont know what we are doing (parents, teachers other adults close to us) and we know there will be someone to catch us whenever we fall down (figuratively more than physically). Althought adult life has more privilages, there are many more responsibilities that follow. teenage is a much more stress-free time of life (but we are a lot more overworked and stressed out than you adults think...its not as easy as it was in your days..last century). I enjoy life where I have the security blanket of my parents. Although teenagers dont have as much freedom as adults, it is a good tradeoff for all the trouble adults have to go through

WOW princess that was a very good speech. I totally agree with you that we dont get much freedom when we are teenager but when we are older independence comes with the troubles and all the financial struggle. If you know where Im getting at? So I guess it better to pick the teenage life than the adult life.
