Typical pick from humans. whatever they loose or want is precious.

No mid way here choose one and justify!

Teeange / schooling life is is best of lifetime vs 20 Plus, once you earn / stable - is better?

Believe after standing on one foot, with independency is best, debating views?

I think this one is a case of grass being greener on the other side. While you are a teenager, you want nothing more than to be an adult to avail all the priveleges. And once you get there, the teenage life seems better as it was less stressful and though dependence on parents was not appreciated then, it is very much missed later when you have to make all your major decisions (specially ones that involve finances ๐Ÿ˜‰ )
I am just on the border right now, haven't started earning yet so can't say if I will enjoy it more than the schooling life (It's not the earning that frightens me but the pay-off of student loan ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† )

you can always start grad school to defer payment, heck even continue to post-doc,and die studying. Knowledge is power.๐Ÿ˜†

sound, i disagree about the grass being greener on the other side. Although i have yet to experience the 20+ life of an independent, self sufficient, earning adult I feel that teen years is the best stage in a person's life. We are mature, learned and independent enough to think for ourselves, make our own decisions (not regarding very imp. issues tho..just minor things) and see both sides of an issue. However, we are young enough to have someone to guide us when we dont know what we are doing (parents, teachers other adults close to us) and we know there will be someone to catch us whenever we fall down (figuratively more than physically). Althought adult life has more privilages, there are many more responsibilities that follow. teenage is a much more stress-free time of life (but we are a lot more overworked and stressed out than you adults think...its not as easy as it was in your days..last century). I enjoy life where I have the security blanket of my parents. Although teenagers dont have as much freedom as adults, it is a good tradeoff for all the trouble adults have to go through

I agree with Javs to greater extend and also with Neets about grass being greener on other end. I believe the best years in one's life is school life. But there are many instances when I wanted to just grow up and do so many things. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

One thing I miss now is going to my parents with every problem. I have become so mature that I don't want to burden them with my problems. That was not the case in school. I could easily tell my mom and dad about each single thing. One has a good security blanket. You don't want to grow. OK now let me cry for sometime.

As a teenager, I have solemnly faced money problems, responsibilities, and other sophisticated issues which might hurt me in the future. I grew to discover who I am, I learned how to make friends, etc, but I never learned survival of the fittest. That's where the 20+ comes in. I am not 20 or older, but I have experienced it. I know you must do everything in your control to survive, to be the best, or even achieve your goals. Of course, it's all independent which is why we never learn it in our teenage years because we have parents caring for us, hovering above us, watching each move we make.

Teenage life is the easy life, the life we would want as adults, but the adult life is the life we want as teenagers because we want to be independent, yet we never realize that independence means a lot more than living by ourselves and making money, there are also hardships in work, personal life, friends who might turn into enemies, career choice, money management... A plethora of events that we fail to recognize as teenagers.

In the end, I can't say which one I prefer because both have pros and cons.

I have been younger ๐Ÿ˜‰ and trust me , adult life is much better overall. I thrive on independence and had none while growing up..๐Ÿ˜ญ

The preference is very individualistic and dependent upon what kind of adult life one has. But for me there is no substitute for years of knowledge , experience, wisdom and money.๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Persy, some careers require not only a doctorate, but also a postdoctoral fellowship of several years. It is not studentship by the way, although the salary may be low. PhD is the highest schooling degree one can attain๐Ÿ˜‰ and I don't see schooling thereafter.
Knowledge indeed is power and thought of providing it ๐Ÿ˜›.

Chances of making it up the corportae ladder right at entry-level increase exponentially by spending the necessary years.
There are certain professions- my husband's for example, where 12th graders are making same money as IIT-graduates, but luckily, these don't represent most careers. Try applying for assistant professorship in a top class university with a BS ๐Ÿ˜›. Even PhD is not suficient. I did not like the wink and derogation, hence wrote this ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜†.

Having cleared that, I like what Neetu said ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
Grass is indeed greener on the other side.

As a child, I was in a hurry to grow up. As a teenager, I wanted to be an adult and have a career, publications and all the glory of discovery. Right now, I am pretty much ready to retire ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†.. and by the time I actually retire, I wonder if I would wish to be a child again.
At every difficult time in my life, I wish to be back in my mom's womb, as a twinkle in her eyes๐Ÿ˜Š.
On the whole, every phase of life is fabulous in its own way, and if you force me to pick one, I'll pick my TODDLER times- It is the CUTEST phase of life ๐Ÿ˜ณ.
