With Gautami entering Kyunki as Tulsi, many things have changed in the character, the most noticeable ones being that she is wearing silk sarees, short blouses, a little jewellery and some make up, very different from Smriti's look in the show.
Explaining the change, Nim Sood, designer of the show, says, "We are giving Gautami a different look as per her personality which is quite unlike Smriti's. She will wear silk sarees and bright colours now. We want to present her as a confident and cheerful personality."
"Gautami will wear some make-up - pinkish or skin coloured eye shadows, lipsticks. Further, she will be seen in light jewellery like pearls and earrings. Regarding her hair, we will continue with the bun."
Nim continues, "Both of them never interfere in their clothes or styling. However, we want to create interest in her character. Earlier, in the show, she went to the asylum and faced many problems. Now she is calm and quite."
"I can give her chiffon or printed sarees and being thin, she can also carry off thick zari border sarees well. But then she will look younger than other bahus. So I want to avoid that. However, we want to do some kind of experiment with her looks for sure," adds Nim.
"Gautami's image has always been different from that of Smriti's. She is playing the same role but her character's tone is different. She is softer and has learnt many things from past so we made the changes in her look according to the story."
"In the near future too you will get to see some changes," Nim signs off.
