Bang Bang proves Katrina's star power exagerrated? - Page 4

This topic and some of the posts in it are just ridiculous!!

Katrina's star power was never exaggerated, she was and will probably remain one of the most successful actresses at the Indian box office! And that's a fact! She barely has flops...like 2-3...even if Fitoor and Phantom flop...that's STILL an amazing record to have. Even big legends don't have that kind of box office record.

Secondly, one thing everyone needs to understand is if a film is bad, no matter who stars in it, it will NOT be a huge success. Now...if there is a big star in the film...they might be able to save the movie from being a huge flop...but they might not be able to turn into a blockbuster. Its like giving a cricketer a bat made of out of foam...their foundation isn't right and there is only SO MUCH they could do with foam. doesn't mean the cricketer is a bad player - its just the combination isn't right/ And that's fine. This is the entertainment industry and sometimes big stars star in bad movies, whats the big deal?

This has happened to everyone. It happened to SRK with Ra.One, JTHJ...it happened to Salman with Jai Ho...and it happened to Aamir with Talash - all of these movies underperformed, but if you look at the figures...they're still hits and they're still 100-crore movies.

Same thing with Katrina...her presence obviously added to movies like JTHJ and Bang Bang - but because they were so poorly made they didn't reach their full potential at the box office, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't have star power or that she should be doubted.

and from what angle is BB a failure? The movie has reached 200 Crores world-wide and counting! Itlll easily be a hit before HNY comes along. Perhaps Hrithik/Katrina made the movie as big as it is because of their star power...but they can only take that to a certain extent- the rest depends on the script, story, songs etc. I think 200 crores is a huge achievement for a movie that no one seems to like.

Yes BB underperformed, but that doesn't mean its a unsuccessful movie. Theres a big difference in both of these things, the underperformance of BB has just given some Deepika fans and other insecure people a chance to get back at Kat, that's all this is about!
