Bang Bang proves Katrina's star power exagerrated?

So this forum has been banging on and on about Kat's star power. Some even compared her to the Khans going as far as saying, she's on par with the khan. But surely, if she had such massive star power Bang Bang would have broken records on first day collections and would have entered the 100 crore club within the first three days, as have other Khan films.

A lot of people have been that if movies like Gunday, FFF, MK etc had Kat in it then they would have been clean hits. But I highly doubt it. A lot of factors combined make a film a superhit. Even if you are a Khan, the name isn't enough. Had that been the case then Talaash, Jai Ho, Dhobi Ghat, would have earned a lot more than they did. Simply because the Khan's starred in it.

So my question: Is Kat's star power exagerrated? I'm pretty sure if Kareena, Deepika, Priyanka or Sonakshi had starred in Bang Bang a lot of people would say, 'if Kat was in it, it would have earned a lot more' etc etc

Few years ago, I would have begged to differ. But after seeing how JTHJ and Bang Bang have performed or rather, under-performed, you are right. It is exaggerated.

They should have given Katrina better songs in BB! I felt she was under utilized.

You are being way too kind with only mentioning about comparing her to the khans. Her fans also went ahead and stated that she is above the khans and also rajnikhanth, katrina is the biggest star ever and everyone has to kiss her feet is what they stated !!!

To understand Katrina's starpower, she must come in a movie where the lead actor is not khans, hrithik, akki, ajay etc...
IMHO, she has good pull among male audience.. but don't know the extent of her starpower on boxoffice..
safe to say all male fans who were not hrithik fans went to see the movie for her.

In her decade long career only 2/3 movies were flops, so it itself praiseworthy & she still has pull on certain loyal fans like sri or madhuri👍🏼
