21. Presumptions Prompts Problems.
Waking up from her sleep, she stretched her arms, yawning. Slowly opening her eyes, she was surprised to find no one beside her.
She wrapped the black satin sheet around her bare body and tip toed towards the bathroom, from where came the soothing sound of
water droplets. Upon finding the door ajar, she silently walked towards the bubbles filled bath tub. A beautiful smile appeared on her face on seeing Randhir peacefully rest his head on the edge of the tub, his shut eyes facing the ceiling.
"Itna jaldu uth gaye.." Sanyukta sat beside him, outside the tub, lovingly running her fingers through his wet hair, the other hand clutched the cloth covering her body, to keep it in place.
"I shifted all ur stuff here..." He opened his eyes to glance at her and smiled.
"Acha kiya.." She continued fidgeting with his hair, and pecked his lips, breathing against it for sometime, expecting him to invite her in the tub.
"Why dont u prepare breakfast til m done? Fir saath main office jaenge.." He smiled, caressing her cheek. Sanyukta's face fell on listening to his words - She was seriously expecting him to pull her into the bath tub. After whatever happened last night, there were practically no boundaries between the two! Concealing her disappointment, she passed a smile, stood up, and began walking towards their room, while she couldn't help but wonder, why was Randhir suddenly avoiding any physical proximity.
"Sanyukta.." He called out to her just before she stepped out of the bathroom.
"Hmm?" She turned around to face him, her hopes once more awakening.
"We need to talk.." He smiled.
"About..."
"No..not for sometime plz..." She interuppted his sentence half way, gulping. Yes, they needed to talk desperately. they had to sort out
alot of things. But Sanyukta did not want to ruin her fairy tale life atleast for a few days. She wanted to be with him, feel him, enjoy with
him to the fullest, for she was certain the unspoken matters would cause some sort of a tiff in their otherwise perfect relationship.
"As u say!" he smiled again, and she walked away, smiling. Randhir relaxed in the tub on seeing her leave, and he tried to calm his erratic breath.
The moment she entered, he had such a strong urge to just pull her into the tub and make love to her then and there!
But, like always, his insecurities got the better of him- what if showering her with to much physical love would re-awaken her thought
of him just lusting her? No. After so many efforts she had finally believed he loved her! He could not ruin everything for the sake of physical love. He had to keep his hands off her, atleast till she was fully satisfied that he loved her.
"Breakfast nahi kiya ab tak?" Sanyukta, who was all ready for office, was surprised to see everything- from juice to fruits to corn flakes
absolutely untouched, while Randhir was busy doing something on his laptop at the dining table.
"Haa woh...I was waiting for u.." He smiled, closing the laptop and placing it aside.
"Aa jao.." He gestured her to take the seat in front of him. She simply smiled on seeing his actions- he was so sweet and soft for the people he loved.
"Ok..since v r staying together, there have to b some rules.." His voice suddenly sounded very business like, making Sanyukta raise her gaze from her plate to his face. This was soo typical Randhir- the mind your own business types!
"What rules?" She narrowed her eyes, her hands poured the milk from the jug into the bowl.
"Rule no.1- Breakfast is on me. Dinner is on u.
Rule No2- No messing around with the cupboards, everything shuld be at the proper place.
Rule No3-I get a good morning kiss every morning. Rule no.4 I get a good night kiss every night and..."
"Rule No.5 No smoking!" Sanyukta completed his list of rules, staring at the ash in the ash tray that was kept besides Randhir's laptop, clearly indicating he had been smoking before her arrival.
"I wil try.." He looked into his plate avoiding any eye contact.
"Why do u need to smoke Randhir? Woh bhi subah subah?!" She placed her spoon in the bowl and stood up, walking towards his chair.
"I..I was working on the car designs Sanyukta...There is soo much of pressure!" He leaned on the back rest of the chair, providing her
space to settle on his lap.
"Emotional tension toh kam hui na..." She wrapped her hands around his neck, smiling naughtily and sucked his lips.
"Work pressure bhi handle karloge tum Randhir..." She rubbed her palm on his chest, talking in between the kiss.
"Hmmm.." He smiled on listening to her words, his tongue licked her cherry flavored gloss, making her moan, his hands gently gripped her waist. She broke the kiss, to glance at the wall clock behind, and after making some calculations naughtily uttered,
"We have time.." Her hands began unbuttoning his shirt, her lips engrossed in kissing his.
Though she was taken aback when he caught her hand mid way, breaking the kiss, he buttoned the buttons she had undone.
"We will be late Sanyu.." He pecked her lips one last time, picked her up and placed her feet on the ground. He grabbed the car keys in a hurry, and walked out of the door, trying to calm his heaving along his crazy desires.
Sanyukta just stared at his retreating back, trying to understand his absolutely confusing behavior.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"What the !" Kyle stared at Randhir and Sanyukta in disbelief as they had been caught kissing in the cabin, while Arpita just tried to suppress her naughty smile.
"Sanyukta...u..n.." Kyle pointed out to Sanyukta then Randhir.
"Kyle...I..can explain.." Sanyukta nervously smiled- Whatever it was, Kyle did not deserve to be informed about their break up like this.
"Look Kyle...Sanyukta and I..v were in a relationship before she came to London..and.." Randhir walked towards him and placed an understanding hand on Kyle's shoulder.
"We Love each other.." He sighed, waiting for Kyle's reaction.
"She never loved me as it is.." Kyle smiled.
"Ever since u came, I knew there was something between the two of u..." His gaze shifted from Randhir to Sanyukta.
"M sorry Kyle.." Sanyukta spoke from behind Randhir.
"M sure its fine with Kyle!" Arpita excitedly walked towards Sanyukta and engulfed her in a hug, winking, mentally deciding to break this absolutely fantastic news to Parth!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"That was a hectic day!" Sanyukta jumped on the bed in her tom and jerry oversized tshirt and black shorts. She shifted on the right side of the bed, making place for Randhir to settle on the other side.
"It was.." Randhir smiled, picking up his laptop from the table.
"Kaha jaa rahe ho?" Sanyukta asked him, surprised looking at him walk towards their hall.
"I have work to do..." Randhir nervously smiled.
"But...I dont have work..matlab how do u have.."
"I am a new employee Sanyukta..I definitely have to prove my worth!" He tried to sound obvious with his tone, but Sanyukta knew exactly why he was walking away.
"Il b waiting for u.." Her lips curved into a hopeful smile, as she attempted to conceal her disappointment in her voice.
"Dont wait..I really dont knw how long wil I take...Good night.." He walked towards her, and pecked her lips, trying hard to read the emotions in her eyes- If he was to conclude her emotions right now, he would definately say she wanted him as much as he did. But, what if he was just imagining her craving to satisfy his desires? No. He could not do that. And so, he simply walked away, not looking back even once.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Whats up?" Arpita playfully hit Sanyukta's shoulder as she stood near the window of her cabin, with a coffe mug in her hand, drowned in her thoughts.
"Hey!" Sanyukta faked a smile, avoiding any eye contact.
"Whats wrong?" Arpita could clearly sense something was amiss with her. She had noticed the uneasiness through out the week, and
finally decided to confront Sanyukta about it.
"Hmmm.." Sanyukta sipped her coffee, mentally deciding whether to talk it out with her frind or not. Though she really did not know how to start the topic- How could she tell Arpita that Randhir had been clearly avoiding any physical intimacy with her after they made love to each other a week ago? How could she tell her that Randhir purposely worked late at night, and left for office early in the morning, just to avoid her?
"Tell me Sanyukta.." Arpita caught Sanyukta's shoulder and turned her around.
"I was just thinking...like...why wouldn't a guy make love to a girl the second time? I mean they have already done it before, so what's the problem to do it the second time?" Sanyukta tried to sound analytical, folding her arms across her chest.
"May be because the girl was not good in bed..."Arpita burst out laughing, missing the seriousness and confusion in Sanyukta's voice,
while Sanyukta's eyes brimmed with tears on processing Arpita's words. That means, she had turned Randhir off? So that meant he would never ever make love to her again?
"I got to go!." Sanyukta pushed Arpita away, snatched her bag from the table, wiped the tears falling through her eyes, and ran towards the parking lot, not halting even on hearing Randhir's voice,
"Where are u running away San..."
He was taken aback by her tears eyes and scared body language, and followed her to the parking lot, but was too late, as she had already left for home...
