Zindagi Gulzar hai rules the airwaves in Europe

September 30, 2014

Or rather beat the Indian TV shows this Sunday.

We love to beat our neighbor don't we just to show how cool we are (especially if we have very few things to be coy about). Pakistan recently beat India 2-1 in a hockey Match at the Asian Games and Zindagi Gulzar Hai beat all the Indian Shows in prime time in Europe this Sunday, according to BizAsia. And we are over the moon.

Zindagi Gulzar Hai garnered around 88,900 viewers on Hum TV Europe between 9pm to 10pm and the second show that gathered most viewers that day was again Hum TV's Ahista Ahista with 74,200 viewers. The closest Indian contender was Airlines from Star Plus with 48,000 viewers.

Earlier, we saw Pakistani shows, especially Sultana Siddiqui's ZGH, do well in the Indian market. The Indian audience started comparing Pakistani shows with Indian counterparts and found the former lacking in content and realistic appeal.

Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed's Zindagi Gulzar Hai is certainly quite popular in the Asian community; be it the expats or the residents. The Tumblr is flooded with Fawad and Sanam's Gifs as the Indian viewers (judging from the names) have made it a point to make a GIF out of every single shot of the duo. As a Pakistani viewer that's pretty heartening and we hope that Pakistani dramas continue to do well on Zee Zindagi - an Indian channel dedicated to Pakistani content - and the rivalry continues happily.

But I hope that now ZGH and other shows are doing better in Europe than the Indian crap, then things will change here too. Airlines is ok though.

ZGH is a show that has touched the hearts of many and has made a connection with ppl that makes it such an endearing and well-loved show in spite of it's flaws and that's the same that can be said about the show's 2 main protagonists Zarron and Kashaf and Fawad and Sanam made these 2 characters so believable, real and endearing thru their brilliant performances. 👏⭐️

TFS 😳

My fav show of all time. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ 🤗
Although there are so many of them like Mayinee, Rog, Hamsafar, Meri zaat zara-e-benishan, Parsa and the list goes on. There are so many great Pakistani shows out there but ZGH is at the top of my list because it truly in a nutshell showed all the colors of Zindagi in a brilliant way, and Kashaf's strong character can't even describe it. As a girl Kashaf's character is a role model for me.

So ZGH ruling makes me very very very HAPPY!!!! 👏 👏 👏 😃 😃 😃

I do wonder when they will show Mayinee and Rog. Mayinee made me cry so much and it made me realize all the sacrifices my own mom makes for me and regret all the times (although rarely I might add that I was rude to her 😊) Rog was such a powerful drama, I don't think any Pakistani dram can touch it, such risky topic but brilliantly written and conveyed.
