"Second Chances"
Chapter 1
I hear that second chances don't come around to everyone so I thank God that Pragya took me back. Tomorrow is our first date and it'll be one that she will never be able to forget.
"Come on Chashmish, you told me you were fit and in shape." If looks could kill then I would be gone. She opens her cute mouth to protest "I didn't know you had this in mind. You said we will see the sunrise together but you never once mentioned hiking." I flash her my sorry look, "So sorry it slipped my mind." I didn't know her face could turn even redder "You didn't tell me on purpose. I'm not wearing the right clothes and shoes and you want me to hurry up." I look at her panting just a little but and yes she isn't dressed to hike but "I never see you in anything except anarkali's. One time you wore that black dress and you were so uncomfortable. If I gave you a tight t-shirt and tight sweatpants then would you have worn them?" She shakes her head in frustration, "Of course I would and then this long hike would be much more enjoyable in a tight ..." She covers her mouth as it now fully sunk in. Without warning she runs after me. I yell back to her "That is the spirit we are almost there."
Finally we are the top and I blindfold Pragya and I lead her to where we should be. I open the blindfold as the sun is about to set. She looks at me and I turn her face to the rising sun. I step back so I can see my Chasmish admiring the sunrise. She turns back and she spots the arrangements. She blinks her eyes a couple of times not believing what is in front of her. "Abhi, how did you do this?" Her face is lit up like its Diwali. In front is a picnic that is laid on a tablecloth she recognizes. Hugging her from behind I whisper in her ear "I got it from Sarla maa. She told me the family picnics you loved so much but after your Pappa's demise...it's been a long time right? You bought this especially for the picnics." A teardrop falls and lands on my hand and we move forward to sit for our picnic. "Manu this is beyond thoughtful" she barely manages to get out.
We start breakfast with her favourite food she shares with me her special memories of her dad. She looks at me lovingly and I forget what I planned next as our eyes lock. A breeze moves her hair in front of her face and I remember "Tell me the truth, when I mentioned those books in my collection I noticed your eyes widen. You wanted to read them right?" She recalls our dinner and shyly says "I wanted to borrow them from you." I move my hand behind the boulder I was leaning against and out come those books. Her mouth opens "Chashmish, a fly will go in. Which one do you want to read first? Let me know and I'll start reading."
Just finished the novel and the sun will set in some time. We finished all the snacks I had brought and she begins cleaning up. "No, you just relax I will clean this up." She looks towards the view and the sun. I quickly clean up and I pick the right playlist and the music starts. She looks back and I'm on my knee with my hand extended asking her for a dance. She smiles and puts her hand in mine and we start to slow dance to the first song Allah Wariyah. The sun is about to set we look at the sun still in each other's arms swaying to the second song Thodha Sa Pyaar Hua Hai.
Driving back home I see that my Sherlock is trying to figure out how those things got up there. I took her up without carrying anything. "My love, I had Robin help me bring everything up yesterday evening". She looks at me and remembers we are so connected to one another that she just flashes me her amazing smile. She lays her head on my shoulder and says "Drop me home quickly. You have to pacify Robin. After this hike he threatened to quit, right?" I wink at her, she read my mind too. Robin is really mad, he told me he didn't sign up for all this.
Happy Friday and next update will be Monday.
