Second Chances (SS) - Final Chapter 5 on Page 6 - Page 3

Happy Friday and here's the next chapter from Pragya's point of view. Next update will be after the long weekend and it's the final chapter ending this story with Abhi and Pragya's remarriage.

Chapter 4

Abhi calls me to his friends mansion where I'm told that I am going to enjoy his hand cooked breakfast. Laughing I can imagine Abhi creating a mess in the kitchen if he's actually cooking or if he's going to take the easy way out then I'll be served my favourite cereal. He's going out of his way to win me over so I think he probably did cook. He tells me often that he's getting geared up to be the ideal husband. Our wedding is next week and he tells me he won't screw up this second time around.

"Chashmish, come on in" Abhi puts his hand around my waist and leads me past the living room and the massive kitchen towards the dinning room which is at the far end. He's smiling from ear to ear and is so eager that he doesn't reaIize we are speed walking, he opens his mouth to say "I promise you are going to love what I cooked" and pulls out the chair for me so I can sit at the long dinning table. I smile looking at Abhi walking back to the kitchen, he has an apron on and there's flour on his cheek. I glance around the open concept and I have to admit the sight lines are amazing but even better is the view looking out to the beach. I recall Abhi telling me his friend has a waterfront property and he was gracious enough to let Abhi have it for the day. The decor of the house is modern yet simple and the colour concept is... I hear his footsteps he's coming back.

Abhi lays out the breakfast and I can't believe he's made paranthay. He serves my plate and I hear him say "Here are your favourite aloo (potato) parantha with yogurt and butter." Serving himself he tells me "My favorite are mooli (daikon). You need the potato as you need to gain a few pounds." He winks and then says "Just kidding, don't get mad." We begin eating and the first bite I have is so good that a thought crosses my mind so I ask him "The taste is exactly like my mom's but the shape isn't round like hers so did you learn from her?" He looks up at me and with a boyish grin that's across his face tells me "I had to learn from the best." After finishing I start to clear the dishes and I hear Abhi say "Not yet we still have dessert." He goes to the kitchen and after a few minutes he's back with gulab jamuns. Tasting the hot gulab jamuns I knew who he learned these from so I didn't ask him but he told me "You were right I should learn these from mama ji." I look at him baffled as I don't recall ever telling him this.

"Chashmish, don't clear the dishes I will do that" he tells me but not listening I grab the dishes and walk towards the kitchen. It's a bit messy, there's flour on the floor and countertops and there are two piles coved with dishcloths. Putting the dishes in the dishwasher I walk towards the first pile and discover a tower of burnt prathas, it's the same with the second tower. Turning back I look at Abhi and he shyly looks down and he says in a low voice while scratching his head "Well I kept getting distracted and I burned one after another." He finally looks up and I ask him "What distraction?" He walks upto me and I see him point to me. Startled I point at myself wondering how could I distract him when I wasn't even here and even before I could ask he says "Even though you weren't here I couldn't get your thoughts out of my mind. You make it look so easy when you're cooking." Trying to suppress a smile I sternly ask "So how were the ones we ate fine? You got me out of you mind?" He gets behind me and back hugs telling me in my ear "It was crunch time. You were coming and I didn't want to disappoint you." I'm so glad he can't see that my cheeks are starting to get a bit warm; otherwise, he would start teasing. He begins to talk again saying "Lets see the upstairs. It has 4 bedrooms and a fully stocked library." In a scolding voice I tell him "Your friend let you use the kitchen and you went exploring in his bedrooms. How could you?" He puts a finger on my lips and says "I bought it from him and it's our house. After we get remarried I am carrying you over the threshold and we're starting our life here. Your family helped redoing the decor to your liking. Can we now go up and explore upstairs?" I shyly nod yes and he pulls me towards the staircase.

very cute chapter, really liked abhi's cooking adventures. lol at him actually learning gulab jamun - was it that pragya suggested it when was drunk?

Beautiful update Aww Abhi sent her clothes jewellery etc that's so sweet, I like how Abhi told Andy that Pragya is his queen, then dancing together is great but them singing happy love together to media was awesome can't wait to read the next update

First of all wanted to thank everyone for reading and especially those that liked and commented. I'm a bit sad too as this story is ending but soon I will have another story to share. I have a thriller in mind where someone is not happy seeing Abhi and Pragya together. Abhi is protecting Pragya from a person who's aim is to harm Pragya. Next story "The danger that lurks" Let me know if you want the third story.

Chapter 5

Abhi dressed dashingly in his golden sherwani looks towards the bridal room. He let's out a long sighs and tells himself "Finally our wedding anniversary is here and we can start our life again with a fresh start. No more misunderstandings and no one between us. I promise I will always keep you happy." Similarly in the bedroom Pragya was waiting for the evening mahurat dressed in a red lehnga and decked with jewelry from her sweet ma and daadi. She recalls the last few months where Abhi was an absolute sweetheart who not only showed that he loved and cared for her but also understood her. This past week he did the final touches to the house so it would be perfect for their new beginning.

"Jiju did the arrangements so beautifully. The backyard is totally transformed, there's the big mandap, flowers scattered everywhere and tables set up for families and few friends. I am so eager to see this wedding that I can't wait for it to begin" Bulbul happily tells Suresh and he looks at her and says "It's exactly how Pragya would want it. He knows her well now to keep this wedding private. Besides both families we have Michelle, Aditya, and sweet Priya with her mom here. It's all lovely and thoughtful but we know Abhi and he has a shameless side to him too. Wonder what he's going to do? He can't help himself and his carefree side comes out sooner or later." Bulbul laughingly agrees and a thought crosses and tugging at Suresh's arm she says "For our wedding you will need to do something better to top my sweet jiju." Suresh looks at her and says "You want me to compete with the rockstar? No way." He starts walking off with Bulbul following closely. Rachna, Akash and their baby Janvi look happily at the newly engaged couple's sweet banter. Dadi goes to Aaliyah and tells her to cheer up at her brother's wedding and truly be happy for them. She tells her "These two went through a lot, they married, separated and slowly found their ways back to one another. You can't force love and it takes time for it to grow. Can't you see they are meant for one another? Purab is giving you a second chance so start by being happy for others."

Abhi is waiting for Pragya and he has his best buddy Purab by his side. He sees's Pragya being brought by her family and he can't help but smile proudly knowing that there is no one else he would rather spend his life with besides his sweet Chashmish. The pandit starts the rituals and both families watch Abhi and Pragya take the pheras. Then Abhi puts on the mangalsutra and applies sindoor. The elders walk upto the couple and start to bless them.

"My dear sister-in-laws take this money and give me my shoes" says Abhi to Bulbul, Poorvi and Rachna. The girls smile to one another and together say "No deal." Abhi laughs and says "Rachna, not fair you are married into my family now." Before getting anything else out Akash interrupts Abhi by saying "Bhai I married into their family too. Racho is on their side, now pay up." Abhi mischievously smiles and looks around at everyone then raising his hands he says "You can keep the shoes and the money." Before the girls can say anything Abhi picks up his Pragya and walks towards the house. Purab gives the money to the girls and the families follow Abhi and Pragya.

Daadi and daasi's have the grah pravesh all set and Pragya kicks the kalash and Abhi then picks Pragya up again and carries her into their home. He walks towards the staircase and turns back to the families and says "Thank you for coming to our wedding and the warm blessings. Now if you can excuse us I am taking my wife away." Pragya buries her face in Abhi's shoulder while he carries her climbing the staircase to their master bedroom.
