Nope, it is not a club for those who like M&M chocolates (the equivalent of Gems in the rest of the world) ... but dedicated to the M characters in this show.
Maham Anga is not included ... given there is already a fan club for her and she is on her way out ... I am preparing a more detailed take on Maham Anga overall but waiting to see how the CVs wrap up her track to give my final perspective.
I feel the CVs are stretching Maham Anga's end like chewing gum ... but the good thing is Jodha-Jalal are showing a new level of maturity in this track ... compare this even to the Khaiber track.
But now, onto our M&M club ...
Given one of the esteemed members of the M&M society is our Motibai (I feel like singing the Jalebi Bai song to her name by the way 😆) ... and she received a pranaam equivalent to a begum today ... today felt like I good day to cheer the forum with the M&M club ... so here are the esteemed members we are celebrating:
Moti Bai: Also, known as Princess Pearl (Moti).
There was a Motibai Part I: Our first Moti Bai ... I loved her ... Adham Khan did too. 😉
She was a true advisor to Jodha ... giving her good advice ... a few examples:
- She told Jodha that she should serve Jalal food ... it was her duty (to get an awesome handhold)
- She told Jodha to speak to Jalal about her parents coming from Amer (to get an awesome hamaam scene)
- She got stuck in jail and Jodha had to use her farmaan to free her (to get an awesome hand hold and pull)
Gosh, even after that experience ... Jalal still did not stop giving farmaans 😆
- She did not stop Jalal from entering while Jodha was changing ... (to get an awesome Jodha- Jalal scene where Jalal mentioned his first affinity to the color Green)
Now, what would the Moti Bai Part II (our new Moti Bai have done), in the last scenario ... she would have said "Shehenshah, Aap yahan? Jodha Begum abhi vyaast hai ... baad mein aajaye" 😆
As this new Motibai Part II... is living the life of a Princess. She does absolutely nothing and talks to the Shehenshah (and Todarmal) as if they were friends.
But, that is why she is our Princess Pearl. At least, her singing voice is nice. 😉
MahaC: Wow, talk about life being over expectations ... With Mita's entry we were expecting new life into Jodha Akbar ... we got new life, but I never expected the quirky kind we saw
She knew a range of tactics - from using Nigaar to Khaiber. She was ruthless but OTT in his display of her power ... a big foil to the more discreet Maham Anga.
I don't know what happened ... but the CVs suddenly forgot about her. I wish a less OTT version of her returns to the screen ... to be a smart, intelligent challenge for Jalal's authority.
Munim Khan: Rashmi was always enamored by him ... ask her why not me. Just kidding! 😉
However, I grew to like him the Khaiber track ... he was the first sight of male bonding I have seen in a long time ... understanding the Jalal should eat, his anger for Jodha, and concerns with the issue at hand. He truly was an empathetic support ... and also showing concern as he advised that Jalal himself not go down to get Khaiber (as if Jalal would take any chances 😆 )
Probably my favorite option would have been to have Todarmal go with Jalal (my first loyalties are still with Toddy), but as the next best option I liked Munim Khan.
Hope to see more of Munim Khan ... though I am not sure what his role is in history. And of course, he needs to find out the status of his son.
Maan Singh: Is a classic example of how Jalal does indeed fall in love with all who put the sword on his neck ... what an entry he made and he made a good first impression on both Jalal and us. We waited a while for his character to have depth ... but till then we were occupied with his selfies.
Off late, he has been more footage and responsibility ... particularly, his confusion, turmoil, loyalities, and advice to his Buasa both in the Khaiber and Atifa track.
I hope the CVs continue to show Maan Singh's growth to influence and power.
This was just a fun post as we wait for the next climax of Maham Anga's final act.
