I think most here have understood what happened over the last few days.
1.Actresses showed trust and confidence in standing with Deepika.Anyone with a lesser image wouldn't have prompted younger actresses like Jacqueline to immediately take on TOI.
2.There are so many journos,and 'twitter celebs'..They were/ are quiet or supported her.That no one openly mocked her stand,is just amazing.
3.The defense by media,is that Bollywood should first introspect.That is not the responsibility of the actresses..and not an excuse for the media to treat them with less respect ,because of the profession that they chose to be in.
Deepika today commands a good standing in Bollywood and in the media... and people from other fields have a healthy respect for her.
Political parties looking for more leaders may have already approached her...
