Indian Idol is a TV show, not a radio show. Why should I close my eyes while watching it?😕

As someone with no music background (which most of the junta is made of, btw) I do enjoy her performances a lot! It's hard for me to understand sur and taal and all those tall words but suffice to say I find her a good singer😊

I have no music background either. Most of the junta that enjoys film music and songs, enjoy because of the music, song lyrics and because the song is sung in sur, not because they WATCH the song (picturization).

For that matter, most of the old classics that I like, I like, not because I watched the movie, but for the sake of the song itself.

And you dont have to have diploma in music to recognize a besura.

Did I say I like the song just coz I like what I see? I did mention I find her a good singer. So I like what I hear and what what I see. She sings well IMO and the dance/movemement just adds to her performance and makes it better to watch. She might not be the best singer but there are a lot of good singers and her performance makes her stand out from the rest.

Anyways, the bottom line is we all have our opinions and in my opinion I did not find her besuri. Quite the contrary, I agreed with Javed Akhtar about her standing out in the first Gala 👍🏼

she's not a great singer, but she's also not a bad singer. i think she just focuses too much on her performance. if she focused more on her singing instead of her performance she would sing well.

Agreed she's not a quality singer or classically trained but I wont call her besuri! The fact is that right now she is gaining votes merely on her performance basis. If she stood there and sung like others, I highly doubt she could've reached the galas!
