Dear Mukti
Do you remember the road trip few months back, where you and me, the two of us laughed so hard that others thought we were out of our minds? We have conversations impossible to understand by others. I do remember, remember the way you smile and then quickly pretend that you're still. Whenever I try to bring back your mood...remember how much you love surprises. I believe you are thinking I am behind the curtains, ready to surprise you. Well...No! I wish I could, and if I could, I would. My time is running out. Promise me you will never cheat, but only to open these prepared gifts, in their respective years. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. Please forgive me. It was a brain tumor. Three months ago, my doctor predicted that I might have one month left for this life to buffer. But I lasted three. Three months, I fought bravely. Three months, just enough time to prepare gifts for a special little girl. I want you to know that every moment spent with you have been the most beautiful thing in my life. You bring out the best of me. Love is not a big thing, but a million of this small thing matters. I will miss you. We may not be together, but one thing that I am sure...We will be Best Friends Forever!
Your Cabir
She closed her eyes, letting the breeze sooth her serene face, where tears had dried by now.
"Why are you crying", he asked the little girl sitting beneath the shady tree. "My family doesn't remember my birthday, no one loves me, no one wants me, no one cares for me." she cried even more. He quickly took off his little watch, made her wear it, "Happy Birthday! See, I am there for you, and will be there till the end, I promise!" She wiped her tears and smiled ear to ear and have a cry out of delightment, "How I love surprises, thank you..." "Cabir" he cut in between and put his hand forward, and she held his hand as tight as ever, and shook it affectionately, "Mukti". They smiled, marking the beginning of a new found friendship, a new found relation, the strongest relation which mattered to them the most.
She opened her eyes, only to read the letter again. It was the 68th time now.

I want these two to be shown as best of friends, and nothing more than that! I want this pure relation of a boy and a girl to be explored wisely and prove that a boy and a girl can be best of friends sharing the most beautiful bond, of love and friendship, but not as a couple! Well opinions may vary and this story can be read with an entirely different vision. Awaiting for your reviews eagerly.
