Great! Didn't know that. Thanks for reminding.

It was a day of celebration for Akbar's family. It is said that lakhs of rupees were spent on festivities which lasted many days. And lakhs in those days means tens of Crores in today's currency, maybe a lot more.

Even today if you go to Fatehpur Sikri, there are people there who can recount every little detail of the festivities as if it all happened yesterday, of how Tansen composed special ragas, music sessions, poetry, dance, lighting and a lot more.

That day really became legendary in itself.

I have no idea about that. But, about the celebration, there was a snippet about it in the BBC documentary, The Story Of India.

40 days Shocked I am sure Akbar never slept or did any work for those 40 days other than talking about his new baby šŸ˜† to anyone who was willing to listen 😊
I have even read that he went to ajmer sharif every year for 10-15 years after salim was born to thank God

Yes... I remember reading that info in one of Abhay's thread. Akbar had to wait for 45 days i thnk, coz he was told to by the moulvis (or at the Salim Chisthi saints) as previous times, he had lost 3 of his kids after seeing them immediately after birth.
