Is Ambani Bahu a co-owner of this team?

Finally, Rishi found a job and a way to give entertaining interviews.

I think Reliance runs the league. Doubt they could co-own any team.

He owns the team

The Jagga Jasoos actor who is a die hard football enthusiast, was seen launching his club. Read on to know the whole story...

BollywoodLife presents to you a live feed from the launch event of Ranbir Kapoor's football club Mumbai City FC. As seen in the pictures, the Bombay Velvet actor strikes a pose with dad Rishi Kapoor and Nita Ambani.

While talking in detail about the football club, Ranbir was seen saying, "Our biggest investment is passion. We have invested our heart and soul into this. Now we want your support."

He further added saying, "We are trying to reflect what the city stands for - hard work, determination, strength and resilience."

Reports suggest that the Mumbai City team will play their home games at DY Patil Stadium. Ranbir when asked about the a probable coach for the team, further revealed saying," The coach has been decided and will be announced on 6th Sept. We will go into the pool for the marquee player."

Never imagined I would own a football club one day: Ranbir Kapoor

Rasesh Mandani Mumbai, August 30, 2014 | UPDATED 16:52 IST

Ranbir Kapoor's football club in the Indian Super League will be called Mumbai City FC. At the logo launch of his new sporting venture, Ranbir was accompanied by father Rishi Kapoor and Mrs. Nita Ambani. A die hard Barcelona fan Ranbir took of his Barca jacket and was happy sporting his new club jersey for good. Here's what the Bollywood heartthrob had to say about his latest football venture which he prefers to call a passion project than a business opportunity:

Sport - a passion or business?
Am driven about sport. Acting is a business for me. I earn money from it. This is more of a passion project than a business project for me. ?I hope that football grows in this country. Even if it doesn't I will still continue supporting the sport. Hope one day football becomes as famous as it is in Brazil and Argentina in the international market.

If it's a risk for actors investing in sport
Every business model is a risk. This is a virgin territory for us. But everyone from the glamour world and ?sporting world are putting money in sport is a great endeavour. Young child now doesn't have only engineering as a career but football, kabbadi, tennis etc. So these are baby steps towards a great future.

On owning a football team..
Its always been a dream to be a part of a football team as a fan. Now to own one is something I never imagined; to sit with the technical team on logos, philosophy, choosing international players domestic players. There is little I can give but more I can take from the experience. I will try to play with them also so I will fulfil my dream that I can play some football.

On creating fan loyalty..
Everybody is working towards quality football and not something that will fizzle out. We want fans to have a team that they can call their own. Gone are the days when they have to support FC Barcelona and Manchester United. They can look to support Mumbai City FC and Delhi Dynamos?.

If footballers know to act..
Ya, a lot of footballers do know to act with the way they dive sometimes. But I think its part of the game. It's a fast paced game which requires a lot of stamina and talent. Football never stops. Acting is not involved all the time.

If he will be able to give time to the league and his team..
I will try to give as much as possible. I will attend all home games. With away games, I have to give priority to the work I have but with passing years, I will try to segregate my time.

If any other franchisee but Mumbai?
Mumbai is my favourite city of the world and I am delighted I was offered it. It's a big responsibility but I am happy to take it.

Oh achcha, got it. Just like Anand Mahindra runs that kabaddi league, Ambanis run this football league. And B-town folks got a chance to buy their team at half price.

Abhi owns a kabaddi team. Ranbir a soccer team, SRK a cricket team. Time for Salman and Aamir to buy some sports teams.

Many BW celebs are involved in ISL.

Salman owns Pune FC, Abhi with Chennai, Varun Dhawan with Goa and John with North East. John also owns Shillong FC in I-League.

Everyone except Salman attended ISL launch.
