New Delhi: Singham Returns has successfully completed its first week run at box office and has become the third biggest grosser of the year so far beating the lifetime collection of Akshay Kumar' Holiday- A Soldier Is Never Off Duty' of Rs 112.18 cr nett in India.

The Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer on the last day of the week collected Rs 5.47 cr in India which took the week's total to Rs 112.59 cr nett.

The Rohit Shetty directorial has already surpassed the lifetime collection of this year's other big hits namely 2 States (Rs 102.13 cr) and Ek Villain (Rs 105.62 cr) and today it will surpass Salman Khan's Jai Ho's lifetime business of Rs 116 cr nett in India.

The Rohit Shetty took just five days to enter Rs 100 cr club, third fastest flick ever to hit the ton after Krrish 3 and Chennai Express which took four days to accomplish the achievement. Dhoom 3 took just three days to hit the ton at box office.

Rani Mukerji's Mardaani' today has opened in 1250 screens in India but response in the morning and the noon shows are dull considering the working day, however, the reviews are positive and the strong word of mouth will push collection up in the evening and night shows.

The other releases namely Mad About Dance' and Life Is Beautiful' have opened poor while the giant multi-starrer Expendables 3' too but unexpectedly has got a poor opening at box office.

Singham Returns may slightly be affected by Mardaani, however, its dominance would continue at box office.

Singham Returns had pretty good second weekend of 15.25 crore nett taking its ten day business to around 127 crore nett. Despite the fair numbers there is a noticeable drop all over now as collections have come down nearly 80% from the first week.

Mumbai remains top as the weekend was around 6 crore nett in the circuit as the film heads for around 60 crore nett business in the circuit making it one of the biggest grossers ever in the circuit as only five films have gone over 60 crore nett.

The film has emerged a SUPER HIT and is the second biggest hit of the year after Kick and lifetime business is set to be in the 145 crore nett region

Rohit Shetty's directorial venture Singham Returns, starring Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor, remained steady at the box office, collecting Rs. 4.25 crore on Saturday, Bollywood website koimoi.com said in a report.

This takes Singham Returns total domestic box-office collection to Rs. 120.55 crore, says the report. Singham Returns so far is the second highest Bollywood grosser of 2014, after Kick, the report adds.

Singham Returns has helped many of its cast or crew set new box-office benchmarks. Singham Returns is Ajay Devgn's fifth Rs. 100 crore grosser and the fastest to reach that mark, the website said in a separate report. Salman Khan leads the pack with seven Rs. 100 crore grossers, the report adds.

Singham Returns also marks director Rohit Shetty's fifth Rs. 100 crore grosser. Rohit Shetty has delivered hits like Golmaal series, Singham, Bol Bachchan and Chennai Express. For Kareena Kapoor, Singham Returns is also her fifth Rs. 100 crore grosser, a record she shares with Sonakshi Sinha, says the report.

"Singham Returns" dominated the ticket windows in India in the start of its second week.

Post the second weekend, the box office collection of Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer stands at 127.8 crore.

In its opening week, the action drama film raked in 112 crore and in the second weekend, it minted 15.21 crore. The film maintained its hold at the box office despite running in its second week.

The second half of the year has started on a good note for the Indian box office with four films crossing 100 crore mark, including "Ek Villain", "Holiday- A Soldier Is Never Off Duty", "Kick" and "Singham Returns".

Salman Khan's "Kick" even managed to reach the whopping 200 crore club.

And now "Singham Returns" is roaring at the box office with its collection. The film had a very strong first week and maintained the same pace during its second weekend. It also surpassed the lifetime collections of "Jai Ho" and "Holiday" and became the second highest grosser film of 2014.



Now, it is set to reach the next target of crossing the 150 crore mark in India. But it solely depends on its performance during the weekdays.

Meanwhile, "Mardaani" is also picking up its business in India, which can later affect "Singham Returns".

On the other hand, the Devgn starrer is set to beat Akshay Kumar's "Rowdy Rathore" and Khan's "Dabangg" record at the box office and enter the top 10 list of highest grosser film ever.

Meanwhile, Khan's highest grosser film "Kick" is still running in Indian theaters, but the screen count has come down to less than 20 and is making in a minimum amount from the box office in its fifth week.

Till its fifth weekend, the film has taken its nett total to 232 crore, while the gross total is more than 377 crore, which includes the overseas total.

Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty are back with another potential super hit films. ''Singham Returns'' released in around 4000 screens and that is why film was expected to take a big start. On top of that, film got huge impetus due to Independence Day holiday over weekend. Now film has scored decent 2nd weekend.


Film defeated the 1st day opening record of Salman Khan starrer ''Kick'' which held the top spot in 2014. Film collected close to 32.09 cr nett on day one and that was by far the best opening day of 2014.


Film collected huge weekend of 77 cr nett plus and then collected good numbers on weekdays. Film had total of 112 cr nett plus in 7 days. Film was extraordinary in Maharashtra, Mumbai and Gujarat breaking all week one records of ''Kick'', ''Chennai Express'' and ''Dhoom 3''.




Film had only ''Mardaani'' in form of competition in 2nd week but film dropped heavily. Film collected close to 3.56 cr nett on day eight but that was not at par for the film. Though film was ahead of all new releases. Film grew on day nine and collected 5 cr nett. Film had huge jump on Sunday and collected 6.70 cr nett.
