Chapter 27 :-
After a rash drive of an hour the car came to a halt. He kicked his shoes in the car and walked out.
Meanwhile, Sanyukta got up and was searching for Randhir in every corner of the house but in vain. He was nowhere to be seen. None of the workers were home so she couldn't even ask anyone. She was pacing here and there. She was sure he was feeling guilty. She had planned this but she wanted to back out when the thought of him feeling guilty crossed her mind. She heard the door open. Anticipating Randhir, she ran to the door but to her dismay it was the group who came in through the doorway.
Ranveer ran and jumped on Sanyukta. She hugged him tightly controlling her tears. Looking at Sanyukta's face Parth understood that something was fishy. He went to her and placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Ranveer, go fresh up?" Parth told.
"Okay chachu," Ranveer chirped and went up. He was extremely happy, he had lots of fun.
The minute he was out of sight, Parth asked Sanyukta, "Kya hua Sanyu?"
"Parth!" Sanyukta shouted and hugged him tightly.
"Sanyu?" Parth muttered.
She started crying. The whole group was scared now. They came running towards Sanyukta.
"Kya hua Sanyu?" everyone asked.
She dug her face deeper into Parth's chest and cried harder.
"Randhir," she mumbled.
"Kya hua Randhir ko? He is fine right?" Parth asked immediately. He was scared. He didn't want Sanyukta to do anything. He knew both had anger management issues and he really wanted to be there when she was going to persuade him but Sanyukta being extremely stubborn asked him to get out of the house.
"Parth, Randhir Randhir!" Sanyukta murmured crying.
"Sanyukta? Hua kya? Bataao toh sahi?" Parth asked.
"Haan Sanyu agar tum hume bataye bina sirf roti rahogi toh koi fayada nahi hai!" Vidushi told.
"Randhir bhai andar hai kya? Mai baat karta hoon unse!" Jiggy told and started moving to Randhir's room.
"Woh nahi hai," Sanyukta told suddenly.
"What?" everyone shouted together, "Kahan hai?"
"I don't know," Sanyukta murmured.
"Hua kya Sanyu? Kya kiya tumne?" Parth asked holding her chin and making her face him.
She did what she wasn't supposed to do. She blushed, she blushed red.
"Someone's blushing!" Kaustuki teased.
"Kya kiya tumne?" Parth teased her further.
"Guys, take a look at the house!" Jiggy told suddenly and only then everyone actually looked at the decorations. They were so worried about Sanyukta and Randhir that they forgot to even look at their surroundings.
"Kya kiya tumne?" Sahil asked taking a long pause after every word.
She blushed.
"Sanyu, tum toh chupi rustam nikli!" Kaustuki told.
"Why is the room decorated so seductively?" Vidushi asked.
Everyone facepalmed.
"For you and Parth!" Kaustuki told.
Vidushi's eyes bulged out and this time it was her turn to blush.
"Shut up!" Vidushi muttered still blushing.
"Guys, Randhir kahan hai!" Sanyukta shouted angrily. She couldn't believe people here were bothered more about her decorations than Randhir.
"FITE," Parth answered.
"What?" Jiggy asked.
"Haan guys, Vardhan sir. Dada. It makes sense. He must have gone there!" Parth told.
"He must have gone there only," Jiggy told.
"I am going there," Sanyukta told and started walking out. Parth stopped her.
"I am coming too," Parth told.
"No Parth, tumhe Ranveer ka dhyaan rakhna chahiye," Sanyukta told.
"Haan? Sab hai na?" Parth asked.
"You really think Ranveer inme se kissi ki baat maanega?" Sanyukta asked narrowing her eye-brows.
"No ways," everyone answered together.
"Exactly," Sanyukta told.
"Par Sanyu, I am not letting you go alone," Parth told.
"Mai bacchi nahi hoon," Sanyukta argued.
"Woh toh Randhir bhai bhi nahi hai. Parth bhai bilkul theek keh rahe hai Sanyu. Don't go alone," Jiggy told.
"Wait. We can ask Vardhan sir," Kaustuki told and pulled out her phone.
She called up Vardhan Sir. She went to a corner so that her talk wouldn't disturb others.
"Parth, woh FITE mein nahi hoga," Sanyukta told.
"Kyu?" he asked.
"Oh c'mon now!" she told poking his temples.
After a while, "Oh no, exactly!" he told.
"Finally," she mocked.
"Guys Randhir FITE mein nahi hoga," Parth declared.
"Tumhe kaise pata? Vardhan sir told that he hasn't come there," Vidushi told.
"Tum dono ko kaise pata?" Jiggy asked.
"Forget that, kaha hoga? Any idea?" Sanyukta told.
Everyone nodded in negative.
"Okay, guys hume usse dhoondna chahiye," Sanyukta told, "Let's leave immediately."
"Haan," everyone told.
"Okay, we'll go in teams of two," Parth told.
"No! We all will go in different directions to different places. I want him front of as soon as possible. No arguments!" Sanyukta told sternly.
Looking at the tough are she was giving everyone understood that they have no other option, "Okay," they muttered.
"Guys!" Jiggy told, "Technology. Call him first!"
"Uska phone yahi kahi pada hoga. I am sure he wouldn't have tagged his phone along with him," Sanyukta told and started looking here and there.
"She's right. I am sure his phone will be somewhere here only!" Parth told.
"Arey par ek baar call toh karo? Who knows he might have taken it?" Kaustuki told.
"No guys, tum logo ko call karna hai toh karo. I am sure his phone will be somewhere in the house only," Sanyukta bellowed.
"Okay," Jiggy and Kaustuki replied.
"Can we decide now?" Parth asked.
"Yeah," everyone told.
They decided who would go where.
"Sanyukta tumhe FITE jaana chahiye, by chance..." Parth told.
"Haan woh raaste mein kahi bhi ho sakta hai. We have so many memories there, I am going that way only," Sanyukta told.
"Okay," Parth told.
"Jaldi karo," Sanyukta yelled and everyone immediately pulled out their car keys.
Just then Ramu kaka entered.
"Kaka, Ranveer ka khayal rakhna!" Parth told amd walked out followed by others.
"Kaka, take care of Ranveer and if he asks where we are then tell him that we went out for some urgent work!" Sanyukta told ran out.
Everyone drove off.
"Hua kya?" Ramu kaka told ambiguously and went in.
10 minutes after their departure Ranveer came down.
"Kaka? Aap kab aaye aur sab kaha hai?" he asked.
"Chote baba, sab bahar chale gaye. Lagta hai ki koi zaroori kaam tha, sab jaldi mei the," kaka replied.
"Eh? Zaroori kaam?" he muttered.
He went to Randhir's room to talk to him but no one was there. He came down.
"Nobody is home?" Ranveer asked himself and walked to the landline.
He dialed everyone's number one by one but received no response.
"Koi nahi utha raha! Mom and dad bhi nahi," Ranveer told angrily and slammed the phone on the receiver.
"One second, senior mom ke saath the," Ranveer told realising something, "Kuch toh hua hai!"
The group drove to every place they could think of but in vain. Sanyukta drove towards FITE like a maniac. She was extremely tensed. Parth drove to every place where he and Randhir shared a memory. He was scared. He knew Randhir was impulsive. They drove rashly dodging every car on their way and traffic signals breaking god knows how many traffic rules.
He was nowhere to be seen.
"I hate you Sanyukta, I hate you!" Randhir murmured. He was extremely angry on himself. How could he make out with her when he was angry on her? How could he give in so easily? He knew she had planned everything and that she didn't want to do anything in at the start and also that he and his emotional guilt was the reason but she slowly melted into him amd he into her. They forgot everything; the only thing they remembered at that point was eachother. At the heat of the moment, he forgot he was angry on her and that he was broken. He wanted her badly, he loved her but he was scared that she might leave him. He just sat there gaping into the void, at the clear evening sky, looking at the nature, fighting his feelings and crying inwardly.
He wanted to go to FITE and even started driving that way. He knew Sanyukta and Parth would think that he would be at FITE with his head buried in dada's lap and his eyes watering and that is exactly what he wanted to do but he didn't want them to find him. He didn't want them anywhere near him.
Meanwhile, Ranveer was was very scared. He was thinking of all the possibilities about what might have happened. He had noticed the decorations but he didn't understand anything. He kept pacing here and there rubbing his hands together. He sat on the settee thinking and after a while, unknowingly, slept off.
After a few hours, everyone except Sanyukta came back home. They were tired. They slouched on the sofa. Parth came in silently and caressed Ranveer's hair and kissed him on his forehead.
"Guys? Sanyu kaha hai?" Kaustuki asked.
"She went to FITE noe?" Sahil asked.
"Haan, FITE bohot door hai na? She must be on her return journey," Jiggy replied.
"Parth call her once na?" Kaustuki asked. She was a little tensed.
No response.
Parth was looking at Ranveer sleeping innocently. He felt bad that he asked Sanyukta to give her child away. His eyes were slowly welling up. He knew what he did was right but he couldn't help feeling bad. He kissed him again on his forehead.
Jiggy understood and patted Parth's back.
He looked up.
"Haan?" he asked.
"Call up Sanyukta once?" Kaustuki asked.
"No. She'll be driving," Parth explained.
"Ohkay," Kaustuki told.
"Guys? Shall I make something to eat?" Vidushi shouted.
"Shhh, Ranveer so raha hai," Parth hissed angrily.
"Sorry," Vidushi told but it was too late.
Ranveer stirred in his sleep and got up.
"Chachu? Aap sab kaha gaye the? Senior kaha hai?" Ranveer asked rubbing his eyes.
"Umm...Ranveer tumhare papa..." Jiggy started.
"And mom? Where's mom?" he asked after scanning the room.
"No use of lying guys, Randhir ke microxerox hai. Champ, Randhir kahi nahi dikh raha aaj subah se. Sanyu pe gussa hoga issiliye kahi bhaag gaya. Sanyu usse dhoondne gayi hai," Parth replied.
"Kaha gayi hai?" Ranveer asked.
"FITE," Parth replied, "Kyu?"
"Senior will not be there. Unko pata hoga ki aap sab unhe wahi dhoondne jaaoge!" Ranveer told.
"I know and Randhir aisi jagah pe gaya hoga jahan hum usse kabhi nahi dhoong payenge," Parth told.
"Chachuuu, I know senior kaa honge!" Ranveer asked, "Jaane se pehle mujhse puchna chahiye tha na?"
"Kaha pe?" Parth asked immediately.
"Chalo, I'll show you," Ranveer told.
Parth and Ranveer went out leaving everyone else behind.
In the car,
"Umm chachu? Ek problem hai," Ranveer told.
"Kya?" Parth asked putting his seat belt on, "Pehle seat belt lagaao!"
After buckling the belt, "I don't know the way!" Ranveer told.
"What? Ranveer tum raasta bhi nahi jaante?" Parth asked.
"Arey mai toh nanha-munha six years ka baccha hoon mujhe kya yaad rahega? Senior leke jaate the mujhe!" Ranveer replied.
"Point. Now what?" Parth asked.
"Papa theek kehte hai, your mind doesn't work when it has to!" Ranveer told and chuckled.
"Kya? Uss Randhir ke bacche ne mere baare mei kya bola?" Parth asked.
"Maine? Maine kuch nahi bola," Ranveer replied flashing an innocent face.
"Arey tumne nahi Ran-- Oh god! Tum dono mujhe maar daloge!" Parth exclaimed.
Ranveer laughed.
"Chachu, navigator timepass ke liye nahi hai, usse use karo!" Ranveer told.
"Oh yes you are right!" Parth told.
"That your brain doesn't work when it ought to?" Ranveer mocked.
"Ugh Ranveer. You and Randhir will pakka kill me someday!" Parth told.
He provided the name of the place and landmarks Ranveer gave and started the engine. They drove off. Parth made sure that he was driving slowly and smoothly as now even Ranveer was with him. He would never do anything that would venture his life.
Finally they reached a place.
"Chachu stop!" Ranveer squealed.
"Hmm?" Parth told and halted.
"This is the place," Ranveer told.
"Ye?" Parth asked.
"Yes, chalo!" Ranveer told.
"Randhir yaha nahi aayega, as far as I know him, at this time, he would like to be in an open place. This is only a small garden," Parth told.
"Come out. I'll show you!" Ranveer told and unbuckled his seatbelt without waiting for Parth's reply.
It was a small garden surrounded by huge buildings. Green was the only color one could see around. Both came out of the car and saw Randhir's car parked there. Ranveer smirked and Parth caught his ears.
"Chale?" Ranveer told. He yearned to see his dad. He didn't talk to him from 2-3 days and that wasn't bearable. He needed to see him and embrace him immediately. Parth followed Ranveer who went in through a small door.
"Marvellous," was the only word that managed to escape Parth mouth.
"I know. Senior's favorite place!" Ranveer told.
"Huh!?" Parth asked.
"Umm...woh whenever I would be upset senior mujhe yahaan le aate the aur mai immediately smile karta tha!" Ranveer replied.
"Oh okay," Parth told, "Ye jagah toh kisi ko bhi smile kara sakti hai."
Ranveer had bought them to a small lake facing westwards such that the sun setting on the horizon was clearly visible. Evidently, anyone coming here would forget their pains and sorrows. It was a beautiful place filled with small lanterns here and there enhancing its beauty. Parth had to admit, Randhir had a good choice.
Very few people were there making it easier to search for Randhir. They looked around for Randhir and found him walking silently along the banks of the lake with his hands on his pockets. Parth was furious. Everyone there was getting scared about him and he was here enjoying the sunset. He ran towards him. Ranveer followed.
Randhir felt someone tap his shoulder. He turned around.
THAAAP!
Parth slapped him, hard.
Randhir's hand went to his cheek and Ranveer's jaw dropped. Did someone really slap his dad?
"What the hell do you think of yourself? Do you think it is a joke? Do you have any idea hume kitna dar lag raha tha? We are searching everywhere for you from the past few hours idiot. We were freaking scared. Pagalon ki tarah har jagah ghum rahe the tumhare liye. Car ka saara petrol bhi khatam. Humko tensions deke khud yahan sunset dekh raha hai? We know you are angry on us and you hate us but please don't go away from us. Agar tumne phir kabhi aisa kiya toh taichi ki kasam mai tera muh tod dunga. Kamine itna dara diya tune," Parth barked and his eyes welled up.
He hugged Randhir tightly and murmured, "Don't do this again Randhir, don't!"
Randhir badly wanted to hug him back but his mind was against it. He did notice the mountain sized pain and concern in Parth's eyes. After a while, his heart took over and he hugged him back. The inward tears finally made their way out.
"Mere papa aur mere chachu...haye!" Ranveer told and patted their backs one by one.
This gesture made both of them smile.
"Shaadi karle mujhse!" Parth told.
"Bol kab karna hai?" Randhir asked.
"Abhi," Parth told.
"Chal karte hai, par tu mujhe chod ke nahi jaayega na?" Randhir asked.
"Not till my last breathe," Parth told and tightened the grip.
"Believe karu?" Randhir asked sadly.
"Sorry Romeo," Parth told.
"It's okay lollipop," Randhir replied.
After a while, "Lollipop, kuch zyaada senti ho gaya na?" Randhir asked.
"I agree but its okay," Parth told and pulled him closer if it was humanely possible.
"Aur kitna squeez karega? Saanse nahi chal rahi meri," Randhir told.
Parth laughed.
"Sab mujhe bhool gaye," Ranveer told and pouted.
They parted from the hug and laughed.
Parth's phone started ringing.
"Haan Kaustu?" Parth told over the phone.
"Randhir mila?" Kaustuki asked.
"Haan we are coming back home," Parth told.
"Parth Sanyukta nahi aayi abhi tak," Kaustuki told.
"What? Pata nahi kaha kaha dhoond rahi hogi. I'll call her," Parth told.
"Okay fast," Kaustuki told and hung up.
"Abb bimbo humara private moment kyu bigaad rahi hai?" Randhir joked.
"Umm...Sanyukta..." Parth told but was cut off before Parth could finish.
"Forget it. Chalo chalte hai!" Randhir told.
"You didn't forgive her yet?" Parth asked anxiously.
"Chale champ?" Randhir told trying to avoid the topic.
"Randhir!" Parth shouted.
"What?" Randhir shouted back.
"Back to square one," Ranveer muttered and facepalmed.
"When are you going to forgive her?" Parth asked.
"Let's go," Randhir told.
"Randhir! Answer me now," Parth shouted.
"No. I will not. I will never forgive her," Randhir shouted.
"Let's go home," Parth told. He decided he would discuss the matter in private instead of a public place.
On the other hand, Randhir was shocked.
"Okay," he replied.
They drove home.
SHEKHAWAT MANSION :
"Parth bhai? Sanyukta ka kuch pata chala?" Jiggy asked.
"Oh shit, I forgot! I'll call her," Parth told and dialed her number.
"Sanyukta what?" Randhir asked.
"Umm...Sanyukta went to search for you. She isn't back yet!" Kaustuki told.
"Bimbo, you aren't serious!" Randhir asked sternly.
"She went in the afternoon. She didn't come back yet," Vidushi told.
"Huh?" Randhir exclaimed.
"Haan Randhir, she isn't back yet!" Sahil told.
Randhir's heartbeats rose.
He was scared and he didn't know why.
"Guys relax, she must be searching for him," Sahil told pointing out to Randhir.
"Call her and tell her that Randhir has come back and she'll drive home," Jiggy told.
"They do have a point Kaustu," Vidushi told.
"Umm okay," Kaustuki told.
"Are you'll out of your freaking brains?" Randhir barked.
Everyone shivered.
"Where did she go?" Randhir asked.
"FITE," Parth told, "She is not picking up!" he added.
"She must be driving," Vidushi told.
"Must be," Jiggy told.
"What the hell? Itni der thodi lagta hai!" Randhir shouted.
Parth smiled. He knew Randhir wouldn't admit that he still loved Sanyukta but he couldn't hide it either.
"Kyu? You didn't forgive her na? You still hate her. Then why you so concerned?" Parth asked. He wanted Randhir to admit that he didn't hate Sanyukta.
"I am not concerned," Randhir lied.
"Really?" Parth asked and narrowed his eye-brows.
"Yes," Randhir told and went up to his room.
"Why don't you admit Randhir?" Parth murmured.
Randhir's room :
"Where the hell is she?" Randhir exclaimed.
He was scared. His heart thumped abnormally fast, it refused to get back to normal.
After sometime,
Parth decided to check on Randhir. He went to Randhir's room and opened the door without any noise. Randhir was patrolling here and there anxiously. Parth couldn't sustain his laughter any longer. He started laughing and opened the door fully.
"And you tell you hate her!" Parth mocked.
Instead of replying Randhir ran and hugged him tightly. Parth stopped laughing immediately and placed his hands on Randhir's shoulders.
"Randhir? Kya hua?" Parth asked.
"Parth something isn't right. Please search for her!" Randhir told and sobbed. He didn't care whether Parth would catch him red-handed for caring about Sanyukta. He only wanted to see her immediately, safe and sound.
"What happened Randhir?" Parth told and pushed Randhir slightly to take a look at his face.
Randhir looked like as if he had just seen death. The redness of his face was replaced by prim white color. His eyes were bloodshot red and a ghastly expression took over his handsome face.
"Randhir! Is everything okay? You look horrendous," Parth told.
"Please call her up. Please!" Randhir begged.
"Haan okay okay," Parth told and immediately pulled out his phone. He called her up but no avail.
"Randhir tum try karo na? She's not picking up my call," Parth told.
"Huh haan!" Randhir told and ran to the place where he threw his phone in the morning.
"What the hell?" he squawked, "162 missed calls?"
"What?" Parth asked as he approached Randhir.
"Yes," Randhir told and unlocked his phone.
He had a few calls from his staff members, clients and business friends congratulating him on his big success. There were more than a hundred missed calls from one particular number.
"Randhir isse call karo, itne baar call kiya hai. I think it is something very urgent!" Parth told.
"Hmm," Randhir replied and called the unknown number.
"Hello?" Randhir told after a while.
...
"Yeah, I got more than a hunde-" Randhir started but was cut short by that person.
...
"What?" Randhir clamored.
...
The phone fell on the ground and broke into pieces as Randhir froze.
There ends my twenty-seventh chapter.
