Chapter 29 :-
Earth stopped spinning.
The world froze.
He heard himself inhale sharply, his breathing got erratic and finally stopped, oblivious to him. For the second time in his life he was scared, the first being when Ranveer had pranked on him.
Unknowingly, he fell on his knees. His legs denied supporting his manly figure. He was numb. Parth, despite the pain, ran to Randhir and allowed himself to fall on the ground beside him. He wrapped his hands over Randhir hugging and soothing him and trying hard to control his own tears threatening to fall anytime. He observed something different in Randhir, he wasn't moving. He just sat there, on the ground silently.
"Oh shit, Randhir!" Parth yelled as realisation dawned upon him.
"Randhir! Breathe!" Parth shrieked.
"Randhir!" Parth called out and slapped him hard across his face, third time in 24 hours.
"Why did you slap him?" Kaustuki asked.
"He needs to breathe idiot," Parth bellowed.
"Randhir breathe!" Parth barked angrily.
Finally, he heard Randhir inhale deeply.
Parth sighed, relieved.
"Why do you stop breathing all of a sudden? That seems to be your favorite activity!" Parth screamed angrily but got no reply.
Suddenly recollecting something, Randhir looked up at the doctor and pulled him by his collar. The doctor was shocked and scared at the same time as Randhir looked like an angry lion.
"She will tell you to do it and you will?" Randhir growled angrily.
"D..do wh..what?" the doctor stuttered.
"This is a prank right?" Randhir bawled.
"Randhir ye kya bol rahe ho?" Parth asked trying to free the doctor from Randhir's clutches.
"Parth, farzi prank kar rahi hai!" Randhir told letting go of the doctor.
"Prank?" Parth asked wondering whether Randhir has gone mad.
"Haan Parth. Champ ne bhi aisa mazak kiya tha last year April 1st ko!" Randhir told.
"Randhir relax," Parth told.
Randhir hugged him tightly.
"She's joking na?" he asked like a child.
"How I wish I could agree to that," Parth thought.
"Lollipop bolo na? She's joking na?" Randhir asked.
Parth didn't open his mouth. Even without asking the doctor he knew that whatever the doctor told was true. He knew Sanyukta would never play such pranks.
He started crying finally having no strength left to fight his tears.
"No," he managed to breathe out.
Kaustuki joined them in the hug followed by everyone. Parth wriggled out of the hug handing Randhir over to Kaustuki and walked to the doctor.
"Umm I apologize on his behalf," Parth told.
"That's okay, I have seen many people react this way when such news is broken out. Nothing new to me," the doctor told.
"Sorry," Parth told.
"She is very lucky to have someone like him love her," the doctor told, his eyes glued on Randhir who was hugging Kaustuki and crying.
"Yes," Parth told sadly. Only if the doctor knew what not they are going through.
"I am not confirming that she will go into coma but I only think so," the doctor told while Randhir approached him wiping his tear-stricken face.
"Sorry," Randhir muttered.
"That's okay young man," the doctor replied, "See such cases are very rare where you cannot easily understand whether the person is out of danger or no."
"And what is the base for this sudden opinion? Just a few minutes ago I was told she is out of danger," Randhir enquired.
"A few minutes ago, I was examining the bruises on her hand and then I suddenly noticed the pillow becoming red," the doctor told, "upon examining, I found out a few cuts on her head near her occipital bone. They were deep and they might have damaged her tracts."
"Might have?" Randhir asked.
"Yes, her body is not in a condition to respond to MRI scans now. She is on saline now and so I have decided to take her MRI once she regains a bit of her strength," the doctor replied.
"By when can you be sure?" Kaustuki asked sobbing.
"That we cannot tell," the doctor told.
"Okay," Randhir told and pulled Kaustuki into a hug.
"We will try our level best," the doctor told genuinely.
"Hmm," Randhir muttered. He was a bit normal now as the doctor had told there are only CHANCES of her going into coma.
"We will takecare Randhir," the doctor assured and walked away.
All this was being witnessed by one man.
"Tanmay?" Parth called out.
"Tanmay, tum?" Randhir told parting from Kaustuki. He was surprised he still didn't leave.
"I came to return Sanyukta's mobile," Tanmay told.
"Ohh thanks," Jiggy told and took the phone from him.
"Randhir, there is something I need to tell you," Tanmay told after a while.
"Yes?" Randhir told wiping away the fresh tears that made their way out of his eyes. Only he knew how hard he was trying to control his lacrimal glands.
"It is about Sanyukta's accident," Tanmay told and looked down.
Randhir congealed.
"Wh-what?" Randhir asked.
"I didn't still tell how I found her," Tanmay told.
"And why didn't you tell us?" Randhir asked trying to decipher the reason why Tanmay didn't tell them anything.
"That is because the doctor assured that she is out of danger but now I know she isn't so I cannot keep it to myself," Tanmay told.
"Go on, you have all my attention," Randhir told sternly.
"You should sit," Tanmay told.
Randhir silently sat on the visitor's bench and looked up at Tanmay.
"Okay," Tanmay started taking a deep breathe, "I was going to Roorkee to meet a friend of mine and on the way I saw her standing on the roadside trying to fix her car which maybe broke down on the way. She looked very distressed. I was about to ask her what the problem was but I couldn't go there due to the signal. The road was deserted save mine, hers and another car. I saw the other car approach her; she was maybe refusing to something they were asking because she looked afraid. Those guys in the car came out and tried to force her into their car. They pulled down her car's bonnet and tried to man-handle her."
Randhir balled his fists angrily. One look on his face would scare anyone's ass out.
"Those guys looked angry and they surely were drunk and those wh**es were so busy that they didn't even notice my car. I wanted to help her out but my little baby was in the car with me and I couldn't risk her safety," Tanmay told feeling guilty.
Randhir smiled at his amiable nature. "It's okay. We understand. Continue," he told.
"Okay so, then she tried to push him and was successful in doing so but another man from behind caught her and pulled her back and tried to kiss her. She pushed him harder and ran back to her car trying to start it. She couldn't. That man again came back and pulled her out of the car and tore her kurti. She was in a condition where she didn't know whether she had to save herself and run away with the torn kurti or to stay back and save her self-respect. She is very strong, she didn't cry, anyone in her place would. She looked extremely angry, she calmly came out of the car and kicked the guy who tore her kurti at his sensitive place, and he stumbled back and fell down. She immediately pulled up the bonnet of the car with one hand, holding her kurti in place with the other and I think tried to repair the car. She successfully did it and pushed the bonnet down. Only then, the man she previously pushed gained consciousness and ran to her and pinned her to the car. She tried to hit him but her efforts went futile. That guy kissed her. She pushed him with all her might and cursed him angrily and kicked him hard in his groin. I am sure the way she kicked them was enough for them to clearly understand that girls are strong. She is very brave," Tanmay told.
Tanmay looked at Randhir who was furious. He looked like he would gobble up those two dirty creatures.
"Continue," Randhir muttered angrily gritting his teeth in the process.
"She got into her car and started the engine. It didn't start. One of those scumbags got up and staggered towards her car. She saw that and forced the ignition, the car started and she made her way before that bas***d could reach her but..." Tanmay told. His voice deceived him. He felt very bad for Sanyukta.
"Then?" Parth asked who looked as angry as Randhir.
"Her car went out of control and hit the tree. Those scoundrels laughed and walked to the car. I felt bad at my helpless state but then suddenly an idea struck me and pulled my daughter out and put her safely in the car's deck and asked her to be quiet until I open the deck again. She agreed and asked me to save Sanyukta. I don't know what happened when I went to put my baby safe but by the time I came up there Sanyukta was out of the car and one of the guy had hit her head with a stick. I was horrified and I shouted angrily which made them jump up in their places. I walked to them and hit them as hard as I could. They freed themselves from my clutches and ran away in their car. I carried Sanyukta and put her in the back seat of my car then I opened the deck and told my daughter to come out. She looked at Sanyukta and started crying. She went back to the deck and bought out her mother's shawl and covered Sanyukta with it and then we came here," Tanmay told.
"Then?" Kaustuki asked.
"All through the way she was uttering Randhir's name consistently so I assumed him to someone really close to her and I asked my daughter to search for Randhir's number in her phone so that we could contact you and she called you up but no one picked up. We called up atleast a hundered times but no answer then you called us and we told you everything and the only reason I stayed here when you both went out is because I respect her feminism a lot," Tanmay finished.
"Didn't you tell us that your daughter was waiting in your house for your arrival?" Kaustuki asked suspiciously.
"I have two daughters. My younger daughter s in the car crying badly over Sanyukta's condition," Tanmay replied.
"Oh sorry," Kaustuki replied feeling guilty.
"It's okay," Tanmay told.
Silence...
"Tell me their car number," Randhir spat venomously.
"DL 03 C 2098," Tanmay told immediately.
"Okay," Randhir told saving the number in his mind.
"Randhir those wh**es deserve damnation," Tanmay told, "Show me how much you love her."
"You must watch the news tomorrow," Randhir told and got up.
"Randhir bhai, ruko! What if they harm you?" Jiggy tried to reason.
"Shut up!" Randhir told angrily.
"I am coming along with you," Parth told.
"No," Randhir told angrily and turned around to face the group.
"Okay fine," Parth told and backed off. He understood there would be no use trying to convince him. He was badly piqued.
"But Randhir lis-" Sahil started but Parth stopped him.
Randhir went away emitting flames of anger.
"He would have killed you if you'd stop him!" Parth told.
"But Randh-" kaustuki started but was interrupted by Parth.
"Woh Randhir hai, uska koi kuch nahi ukhad sakta," Parth told proudly, "Don't think about him now. Feel pity for those scoundrels."
"Tum logo ne Randhir ka chehra dekha? They are finished," Sahil told.
"Absolutely," Jiggy told.
"I should leave now, my daughter must be waiting!" Tanmay told.
"Yes. Thankyou so much Tanmay," Parth told and came forward to hug him but stopped due to the excessive pain.
"Don't walk. Randhir didn't leave you in a condition to walk," Tanmay teased and hugged Parth.
Tanmay left.
"Sanyukta is such a fighter," Vidushi told.
"Yes she is," Kaustuki told and smiled.
"I hope she will be fine," Jiggy muttered.
"Guys, go eat something and come. I know Randhir ke tension mein none of you'll ate so go to the canteen and eat," Parth told trying to stop them from breaking down.
"Parth but," Sahil started but was cut off.
"Go, even I will go and eat after you all come back. Someone must stay here," Parth told, "There is no use arguing so go!"
"Okay fine," everyone muttered and walked to the canteen.
Vidushi stayed back.
"You won't go?" Parth asked.
"You couldn't hit him back?" Vidushi asked angrily.
"Vidushi, c'mon!" Parth told.
"What? Bohot hero bante phirte ho na? Abb?" Vidushi shouted.
"Ohho Vidushi, forget it!" Parth told.
"Why didn't you hit him back?" Vidushi yelled stubbornly.
"Because he is Randhir," Parth told.
"So? Don't you have these biceps? Taichi ke bande the na tum?" Vidushi bawled angrily.
"He has the right Vidushi. I hurt him bad. He has all rights to do anything to me. I wouldn't mind even if he would kill me," Parth replied softly.
"Ugh god. He isn't an angel. He did as many mistakes we did!" Vidushi told.
"You aren't being rational. He was always with us when we needed him!" Parth reasoned out.
"Yes, that I agree," Vidushi replied.
"Oh my god, I still cannot forget that day we witnessed a new Randhir," Parth told.
"Oh my god! I know, I was only thinking who this new guy was who resembled Randhir in his features," Vidushi told and let out a chuckle.
After falling in love with Sanyukta, he had completely transformed himself into a new, lovable person; though he still was that arrogant, rude boy for the others. He befriended everyone and within a few days he was everyone's bestfriend.
"I was shocked too," Parth told.
"Oh shut up, he was your bestfriend before that only!" Vidushi told.
"Yes but I was shocked that he was behaving the same way with the others," Parth told.
"He was like that with only us though," Vidushi told, "and do you remember that day when Randhir lashed out on some random girl?"
"Oh yes, I'd never forget that incident," Parth told as his thoughts made their way to his memory lane. *The day he had proved he belonged to Sanyukta.*
FLASHBACK :
CANTEEN :
"Oh god Randhir, will you stop it now?" Kaustuki muttered angrily.
"What's your problem?" Randhir asked.
"My problem is that I cannot see it," Kaustuki told.
"Are you in love with me?" Randhir asked.
Kaustuki's jaw dropped in a perfect O'.
"No," she replied.
"You're a lesbian then?" Randhir asked.
"Randhir!" Kasutuki yelled.
"Then what is your problem with our PDAs?" Randhir replied while everyone else tried to hold back their laugh.
"Ugh, enough now!" Kaustuki told angrily and got up.
She pulled Sanyukta and made her sit beside Parth and she herself sat beside Randhir.
"Kaustu," Randhir and Sanyukta cried in unison.
"Shut up both of you," Kaustuki told angrily, "If you'll want to do anything then go and do your PDA's in private!"
"Kaustuki?" Randhir told softly and held her hand.
"What?" Kaustuki asked.
"You do know what PDAs mean right?" Randhir asked.
"Of course, Public Display of Affection," Kaustuki replied.
"Ohh okay," Randhir told suppressing his laughter.
After a while, everyone started laughing out loud.
"Why are you guys laughing?" Kaustuki asked.
"Think," Sanyukta breathed out between her laughter.
"Why are you all laughing?" Kaustuki asked sounding very angry this time.
"Kaustu, PDA means Public Display of Affection then if they would do it in private why would it be called a PDA?" Parth explained.
Kaustuki eyes bulged out. "Shit," she muttered looking everywhere but Randhir. She knew Randhir would make fun of her but seriously speaking, she didn't mind. Randhir was like a brother she never had. She was happy to have a friend cum brother like Randhir.
"Kaustu? Seriously now, no one has a problem with our," Randhir told gesturing towards him and Sanyukta, "PDAs. Then why do you always flip out?"
"Because I don't get to do it," Kaustuki blurted out.
"What?" Randhir told his mouth open, "You can...I mean...Jiggy's your boyfriend."
"Seriously now? He doesn't do all this in private and you expect PDAs?" Kaustuki told.
"Jiggy learn something," Randhir told hit Jiggy's back.
Jiggy looked at Sanyukta to save his back.
"So you want PDAs haan?" Sanyukta told nudging Kaustuki with her elbow.
"Shut up and sont you dare save his ass!" Kaustuki told pointing towards Jiggy.
"Yes, this time Kaustuki is right," Randhir told and hi-fied her.
"Oh really?" Sanyukta asked.
"Yes," Randhir told, "You don't like PDAs?"
"No," Sanyukta blurted out in an attempt to save Jiggy.
"Oh I see. Okay Kaustu, you have my word. No PDAs from now!" Randhir told.
"Good," Kaustuki told deciding to play along with Randhir and irk Sanyukta further.
"Iss Jiggy ki toh mai!" Sanyukta muttered under her breathe.
Sanyukta loved PDAs, Randhir was so good at them. He never went overboard or never embarrassed themselves in public. Randhir and Sanyukta's PDAs were healthy ones which absolutely meant no harm and she enjoyed them a lot.
"Randhir," Sanyukta told, "I didn't mean that!"
"Then what did you mean?" Parth asked.
"I love PDAs," Sanyukta blurted without even thinking once.
She looked up at Randhir only to find him smirking. How she loved that evil, I-am-the-devil smirk. He looked so hot when he had one of those on.
"What else can a cheap girl like you like?" Sanyukta heard someone say.
"Natasha," Sanyukta muttered angrily.
"Randhir baby, you deserve someone hotter, not this behenji!" Natasha told as she traced her fingers on Randhir's sides.
"She is so ugly and manipulative and she doesn't even love you, that's why she keeps fighting with you all the time," she told again.
"Natasha, shut up or else," Parth started but was interjected.
"Or else what? You'll complain to mommy?" Natasha replied not leaving Randhir, "Randhir listen to me you deserve someone better than her. Just look at her she looks like a guy more than a girl. She always uses you to get her work done. She only stays with you so that she can get all the fame. She is such a wh**e, I mean she is only your girlfriend because she wants to become famous. Once, she will become famous she would throw you out of her life. She is doing all this only for fame Randhir, believe me. I know such behenji's like her. You should be with me. I not only love you bur also I respect you so much. Of course I am beautiful and hot, that doesn't matter anyways. She is a hell-cat Randhir. I am telling for your own good stay away from her. She will ruin your life."
Randhir had decided not to respond to her dirty talks as Sanyukta had asked him not to previously when Natasha had done the same thing. How he wished Snayukta hadn't taken his word. On the other hand Sanyukta wanted Randhir to lose his temper this time. She was tired of being the good one'. She wanted Randhir to snap at her and teach her a few manners.
One glance at Sanyukta and he knew what to do. He smirked his evil one. Sanyukta understood that he was going to do something so she curver her lips a bit giving her consent.
He turned towards Natasha and got up.
"You are right Natasha. I don know why didn't I see all this before," Randhir told in a matter of fact tone.
"Wh - what?" Natasha replied. She didn't expect Randhir to agree but inwardly she was jubilant.
"Yes Natasha, why didn't I see you? You are just so hot and charming," Randhir replied.
"Randhir what the he-" Vidushi started but stopped as Parth held her hand indicating her to shut up.
"Randhir? You love me?" Natasha asked hopefully.
"Yes baby, I love you. I was with the wrong person until now," Randhir told getting angry with himself for saying those bitter words eventhough he meant none of it.
"Oh my god Randhir, I am so happy today," Natasha told.
"Natasha? I always wanted to do something," Randhir told.
"What?" Natasha asked.
"I always wanted to kiss you," Randhir told making everyone jump in their seats.
"Then what are you waiting for?" Natasha asked and took a step forward.
Randhir pulled her close by her waist and heard a sharp inhale of all the girls standing there.
Their faces were inches apart and Natasha froze. She wanted this from so long. Now when she was getting it she was extremely happy. She closed her eyes anticipating his touch. She felt his hot breathe fanning her lips. Just when she was about ti make a move and place her lips on his he pushed her hardly. She stumbled back and stood up straight with the help of a chair.
"What the hell Randhir?" Natasha shouted.
"You really thought I'd kiss you?" Randhir asked with his hands in his pockets.
"Yes," she told and immediately kicked herself for telling it. The whole audience started laughing.
Randhir just wanted to insult her!
"Why did you do this Randhir?" Natasha asked.
"Simple, because you insulted my girlfriend," Randhir told and smirked.
"Insult? I stated facts," Natasha told making Randhir angrier.
"Facts?" Randhir exclaimed, "No. Lies! She is ugly? Look through my eyes. She is the most beautiful person I have ever met seen in my life. Those hazel orbs are something to die for. That blackish-brown long, pin straight hair is something to just lose myself in. That perfectly carved lips are something for me to just keep on kissing them."
Sanyukta kept blushing at the time but the last statement made her go tomato-red.
"Randhir enough," Sanyukta told still blushing.
"And when she blushes she looks just like a cute little tomato, I love the way her nostrils flare up when she is angry, the best sight to watch," Randhir told.
"You've told much," Sanyukta unable to stop blushing, "Enough now!"
"I love you Sanyukta oh sorry farzi," Randhir told sweetly and yanked her close.
"Randhir what are you going to do?" Sanyukta asked scared oblivious to his intentions.
"Something that would clear everyone's doubt and showing everyone that I belong to you," Randhir mumbled.
No sooner after he finished speaking he placed his lips on hers. Sanyukta kissed him back with equal vehemence. They heard the crowd hooting their names but she didn't care. How she loved kissing him!
Finally they pulled apart for air.
"Anyone has any doubts now?" Sanyukta asked sternly.
The crows nodded in a no.
"He belongs to me," Sanyukta told.
The crowd nodded in a yes.
She looked at Randhir and immediately blushed again. She went back to her table and sat down.
"Randhir, you seriously did that?" Parth asked his mouth open.
Randhir only ruffled his hair cutely.
"Bhai, aap toh chupe-rustam nikle," Jiggy told.
Sanyukta thanked god that no one was teasing her.
"Sanyu, my god! You really did that?" Kaustu asked.
"I thanked you just now!" Sanyukta thought angrily looking up.
Randhir pulled her close while she blushed.
"But there is one problem," Randhir told.
"What?" Parth asked knowing clearly what Randhir was going to say.
"Now no girl will pay attention to me," Randhir told and earned a glare from Sanyukta.
Parth and Randhir hi-fied and started laughing.
"That day was awesome," Vidushi told, "we got to see the great Randhir Singh Shekhawat kissing a girl."
"That is so shameless," Parth teased.
"No, it is not. It is cute," Vidushi defended.
"Yeah right," Parth told and rolled his eyes.
Vidushi stood up to leave.
"Where are you going?" Parth asked and caught hold of her hand.
"Canteen. I am hungry," Vidushi told.
"Oh okay," Parth told and left her hand.
Vidushi came close to Parth, dangerously close and whispered in his ear, "You hate kisses na?"
"Umm..ahahan," Parth muttered and blushed anticipating Vidushi's next move. He was right. She kissed his cheek, smirked and walked to the canteen.
Parth sat there frozen.
"Guys, Randhir didn't come back yet. I hope everything is okay," Kaustuki told.
"I am sure everything is okay," Parth told casually.
"Did the doctors tell anything?" Jiggy asked.
"No. They still need time," Parth replied.
"Okay, I still wonder where Randhir is. It is 4 in the morning," Vidushi told.
"Yeah me too," Sahil told.
"Oh shit," Parth shouted suddenly.
"What happened?" everyone asked together as they turned around to look at Parth. He looked terrified as though he has just seen a ghost.
"We didn't inform Vardhan sir," Parth spoke.
Everyone's expressions changed dreadful.
"Umm, Parth you should tell," Jiggy suggested.
"Don't you want me alive?" Parth asked.
"Arey but Vardhan sir loves you," Sahil told.
"Exactly," Jiggy agreed.
"Okay fine," Parth told and fished for his mobile.
He pulled it out and dialed Vardhan sir's number after a while.
"Hello?" Parth told, he voice seemed very low.
"Parth?" Vardhan sir asked.
"Yes sir, it's me, Parth. Can you please come to the city hospital?" Parth asked.
"Yeah but why?" Vardhan sir replied.
"Come and see sir," Parth replied.
"Alright. Will be there in an hour," Vardhan told.
"Okay sir, fast! We are waiting," Parth told and immediately cut the call.
"Why didn't you tell him?" Vidushi asked.
"Let's tell him together," Parth told.
"Nooo," Kaustuki squealed.
"Yes. Bestfriends na? Let's die together," Parth told and chuckled.
"Okay fine," Kaustuki told as she understood there was no point arguing.
After an hour...
"What happened to you Parth?" they heard an ironic sly voice. They immediately understood who it was.
"Sir," Parth exclaimed.
"Greetings later, what happensed to you?" Vardhan sir asked.
"It's not about me sir, you should peep inside ICU ward no. 302," Parth told coming directly to the point.
"Who's there?" Vardhan asked as he walked towards the ward numbered 302.
