Lara is like sister to me: Abhishek

They might not have made it to his hi-profile baraat, but now Abhishek Bachchan is making sure his fans go jhoom with his latest release. "I think Jhoom Barabar Jhoom is the most precise representation of what Shaad is in real life. He gave everybody a sneak peek to his mad and flamboyant self in Bunty aur Babli and now he's allowed everybody to look into his soul. It's a Shaad Ali Sehgal film all the way," says Abhishek.

Recalling his first brush with the film, the actor informs, "The story was narrated while we were shooting for Bunty Aur Babli. It was then called Sangam Mien. It kept evolving and moved from the Delhi station to Waterloo Station. With Shaad as the captain of the ship you know there's going to be oodles of attitude and a distinctive style."

It seems Bachchan-Deol jodi had a smooth run in its first venture. "I have known Bobby since I was a kid. We couldn't have asked for a better film for the Jai-Veeru GenNext to come together," says Abhi.

But doesn't he feel jittery while sharing screen space with Daddy B? To that. Chota B replies, "When you are in front of the camera, the actor in you takes precedence and personal relationships take a back seat. The moment you start thinking that 'oh my God, that's my father in front of me', you are definitely going to get intimidated and that hampers your performance."

The bonhomie extends to the two leading ladies as well. "This is Lara's second film with me after Apoorva Lakhia's Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost. She is very close to me and is just like a sister. And not to forget Preity, she always makes sure that my makeup is okay and my hair is not out of place. It's wonderful to work with co-actors who take such good care of you because usually we actors are so self-indulgent. Having worked with Shaad in the past, I was a bit concerned as I was not too sure if other actors would understand Shaad's style of working and the kind of atmosphere he prefers on the set. But Preity blended in easily and was one of the guys," informs Abhishek.

According to Junior B, Jhoom... is quite unrealistic in terms of what is required of an actor. "It can actually scare you. For instance, you are at Louvre, one of the great institution of arts in Paris of which we have all learnt about in school. And there you are right outside, dancing ostentatiously and madly with 50 French dancers, with a messed up look singing Ticket to Hollywood. The bottom line is that you need to have lots of confidence in your director and, more importantly, the director has to have lot of confidence in you. He has to help you forget that there is a world around and keep you completely engrossed in the film and your character. Shaad always manages to achieve that," wraps up Abhishek.
