I recently landed on this VM which has Fawad and the girl in Noorpur ki Rani and I got to know that this is from a show called 'Daastaan'. I loved the VM. Absolutely completely in love with it and that has compelled me to watch the show but I didn't want to end up disappointed.
Is the show any good? What is the basic story line ? Can anybody tell me?

It's a serious show, quite depressing but absolutely amazing. It is based on the trials and turbulations of a woman during the partition. So those living in India may want to avoid it due to the controversial topic of the partition. However, people can always watch it to see what life was like for everyone during that time and after it especially for women (the novel was originally written by someone who had witnessed the partition).

Btw. Sonam Baloch is one of the best actresses in Pakistan (Sanam Saeed does not compare to her).

it is a lovely show. I agree it deals with serious issue of partition, but it shows reality of that time. written by a pakistani writer so it describes the story about a pakistani girl who want to go to pakistan but is forced to live in india due to circumstances. though it happened with the women of both sides India and pakistan another similar story is told by amrita pritam in her novel 'Pinjer'(also film of same name featuring urmila matondkar).
it is a brilliant show , watch it for fawad and sanam baloch's chemistry. it is a beautiful show which will touch your heart and you'll will love it. the story, screenplay, the setup, the cultural at that time is beautifully depicted.they created the era of 40-50s.i m an indian but i loved dastaan.
but if you only like light hearted shows, then may be you dont like it.

I absolutely love Dastaan!
I'm not going to lie, the show is very intense, gets depressing, gives you gossebumps, and as stated above..those in India may find it controversial BUT, the show itself is indeed amazing. The performances in particular really blow you away. What Sanam Baloch did in Dastaan..I doubt any other actress has done thus far in Pakistan in recent times. She did that show when she was merely 23 years old..and she was brilliant to say the least. Fawad was also amazing. I think this is arguably Fawad's best show in its entirety. Fawad and Sanam Baloch's chemistry is effortlessly beautiful! They were so good together. Basically, if you're going to watch all of Fawad's shows, you can't really miss Dastaan.

As everyone already mentioned that its quite emotional and controversial kind of story so i dont know weather u like it or not
but it was a play worth watching brilliant performances from every main lead not only Fawad and Sanam but also frm Samina Perzada, Ahsan Khan and Saba Qamar
this play won maximum PMA awards when its aired
very very beautiful touching story
and Fawad and Sanam r my all time favorite couple
and the chemistry they both share onscreen is unmatchable

It is a love story, based in a time during the India-Pak partition.
What I've heard is there are many many emotional/intensescenes between these two.

I saw the promos in Zindagi ke rang. Just a bit though. Not sure.

Its one of the best drama acted by Fawad Khan. Fawad Khan and Sanam Baloch are an amazing couple and like them better than Fawad with Sanam or Fawad with Mahira.
Sanam Baloch is a fantastic actress.

At times I feel Humsafar and Zindagi G Hai are kind of overrated. Pakistan drama is more than just these new overarated ones. Have been watching Pak serials since last 25 years first in India and now on YT.

Dastaan is a love story set in the Pre Independece struggle in 1947. In my opinion one of the best dramas made in Pak. Watch it with an open mind. And remember it is made / based on the Pakistan point of view. There is no right or wrong its just a viewpoint.

We had a similar Urmila Matondkar movie in India..called Pinjar. Both the plots bear a striking similiarity.

Loved Fawad Khan and Sanam Baloch in this one...
