Why are you staying away from soaps?
I want to do reality TV. Most of the offers that I have received for soaps have not been worth taking up. A daily soap is a punishment if you are a protagonist. The show 'Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin' won me phenomenal appreciation. I don't want to kill it by planning my future in a hurry.

What have you been doing of late?
I learnt dancing by default ('Jhalak Dikhla Jaa') and now I am enjoying it. So, I've been performing shows all over India and abroad. Recently, I shot a music video 'Apne sa koi fundoo kahan' with the winners of 'The Nick Fundoo Superstar Contest'. Soon I will be leaving for a 40-day world tour for a show. I will also be performing the 'Main aayee hoon UP Bihar lootne' number!

What's up with your reality show 'Extreme Makeovers'?
I have been shooting for the show currently. It all depends on when the channel wants to air it. I feel blessed to be associated with such a 'good cause' (the show traces the makeovers of people who have been disfigured due to accidents and other mishaps). I got a makeover as Jassi in my show. Now, I'm helping people get one. I'm reaching the masses.

What is a principle that you adhere to?
While I am at work, I give it my best. But once at home, I enjoy cooking and even washing utensils. Also, I've realised that there's no shortcut here.

How do men react to you now that you have gone glam?
Thankfully, they consider me as someone they can take home, not someone they can merely date or have a one-night stand with.

What's the bond that you share with your boyfriend Karan Oberoi?
He's a sardar and I'm a sardarni (laughs!). We are the best of friends. When we are together, we don't need people around us. He's my support system. The day I'm excited, Karan's there with me. The day I'm sad, he's there too. I don't feel alone with him in my life.

Are you ready to tie the knot?
We both need to do a lot more, before we get married. Being in a relationship is almost like getting married. There's a sense of commitment.

reminds me of jassi -purab jodi !! if their marriage works(mona-karan marriage) ill definately raise questions on jassi - armaan jodi !! 😉

I agree with her that daily soaps are a punishment nowadays . No soap is worth mentioning as good except viruddh maybe thats all
reality shows are the in-thing and it will soon takeover, I am sure.

I agree reality tv shows should overtake the daily soaps.

Mona is right to stay way from mediocre roles as her Jassi fame has secured her and her next move should be a step up. I wonder why she does not try films.

I don't think she meant JJKN, she has always acknowledged that JJKN made her what she is today. 😊 She was just referring to the general clutter of daily soaps. It shows her respect for JJKN that she doesn't want to taint that by doing something mediocre after such a pathbreaking role.👏
