Why are all female Punjabi roles portrayed as Alcoholics in movies?

I'm just wondering why is this stereotype always enforced in Bollywood? Recently Alia was shown as a drinking machine in HSKD ...and earlier almost every female punjabi role is a drunkard - even Parineeti in her debut. Of course there are many other examples .

What is the connection between punjabi females and alcohol ? Why are other ethnicities not shown as alcoholics?

I'm very curious do tell :)

Well ...Alia was shown drinking in 2 States and she was playing a Tamilian in that movie...I am sure they show other groups as drunkards too...not just Punjabis...😆

That's probably the first time that was shown, most of the time it's punjabi roles... It's not even about "drinking" but they take it a step further and showcase them as raging alcoholics
