Bheeshma, Arjuna & Bhima were the best warriors followed by Abhimanyu (he could have been better than his father if were alive). I would rate Arjuna & Bhima equal.

When we talk of the best warriors, 4 names come up promptly...Bhishma, Drona, Arjuna & Karna.

Arjuna battled & defeated at least 3 of his contemporaries i-e Bhisma, Drona & Karna in the same war at least once (Krishna was not present then). He in fact routed Drona & Karna. Karna never had to fight with either Bhishma or Drona leave alone defeat them. Hence i would never consider him as the greatest warrior. Even Bhima & Abhimanyu had the upper hand against him most of the time in their respective battles although he did spare Bhima when he had the chance to kill him.

The top 3 warriors for me are:

1.Bhishma

2.Arjuna & Bhima

3. Abhimanyu ( He could have been the best & topped all of them if he was alive for more time)

I voted for Arjun as he had lot of commendable qualities(already mentioned by some) which other warriors did not have

I should think Abhimanyu, but he did not get chance to learn till his full potential...hence by whatever is available, I voted for Arjun. --- Arjun for me is great not only because of his skills but also because of his hunger for learning more and more --- all the time. That kind of hunger kept him on journey to become better, to know more... for Arjun there was no end to education...

Bheeshma and Arjuna according to me. Bheeshma was invincible actually. Now considering TM you said that we have to give our views without considering the blessings, then without considering his Ichya mrityu vardan too I think he was great. He had the power to conquer great armies, no matter which side he was in, or what his state of mind was.
Now I think Arjuna would come next. He was a proper warrior, without any problems, he was in his lines, he did not do anything wrong to get glory. Without Gandiv (as a blessing) too he was one of the best warriors. And I saw many posts stating without Krishna's help Arjun could not win. Dirst of all Krishna never said he was NOT in Arjun's side, and Arjun is blessed to have Krishna supporting him. Before Kurukshetra he said he will not fight in the war but he was with Pandavs, in their side, so pretty obvious Krishna will help Arjun. And at the end of the day, krishna is not the one shooting the arrows, it was Phalgun who did it himself.

Sorry to ask u but when arjun proved in front of Hanuman?

Also in case of gandhiv Arjun first asked agni dev to give me divine bow so that he can defeat Indra dev. His excuse was his ordinary bow can't carry celsetial weapon. But Drona, Bhism, Karna uses ordinary weapon to shoot celestial weapon many time. It was just an opportunity for Arjun to get divine bow in return of burning forest. Karn atleast give his Kavach Kundal to get shakti weapon.

Yes he impress Lord shiv with his tapsaya to get pasupatastra which was his biggest achievement

The greatest warrior was Lord Krishna himself, but after him I vote for Arjuna, because he was a warrior who strove for excellence without comparing himself to others. He wanted to be a strong warrior not to defeat/kill others, but to use his skills for the protection of others. Arjuna's strength was both physical, mental and spiritual, and that is why he is the strongest warrior of Mahabharat after Lord Krishna. After Arjuna, I vote for Abhimanyu.

I think it's foolish to measure strength just by physical capabilities, because physical strength is temporary, but spiritual strength is not. The world's greatest wrestler can be rendered weak and incapable of fighting after a terrible car crash that leaves him with a disability, but a person with strong spiritual strength is blessed by God, and that person can never know any defeat, so IMO physical strength is completely useless if one does not have strong spiritual strength.

Many of the warriors on the Kauravas' side were extremely powerful and had a lot of physical strength, no one can deny that, but they lacked spiritual strength, which is why Lord Krishna did not support them. So when one says who is the "strongest warrior of Mahabharat" one may immediately think of physical strength and answer, but that physical strength is of no importance when it is not followed by spiritual strength. So there is no doubt that the Pandavas were the strongest warriors of Mahabharat, not just because they were strong and possessed astras, but because Lord Krishna supported them. Out of the Pandavas, Arjuna was the strongest because his spiritual strength knew no limits. Why else would Lord Krishna, the Lord of the whole universe, become his charioteer and Lord Hanuman, an incarnation of Mahadev himself, sit on his flag? This can be accomplished by no ordinary man. Only a man of immense spiritual strength can achieve this.

So when one thinks about the strongest warrior, it is important not to simply gauge physical strength, because that is quite temporary. Spiritual strength is permanent.

Each of us have favorites, but in trying to defend our favorite character/actor, we tend to put down the other, there by leading to comparisons and arguments.

Hence, comparison topics are NOT allowed on the forum, as they lead to unnecessary fights and chaos
